HUNG UP ON ME WHILE LAUGHING!
Rich M.

I have been ordering from this establishment for quite a while, with no problems! Unfortunately, today was a NIGHTMARE! I placed a delivery and the entire order was Incorrect! I called and requested the correct order and was told to wait until they deliver me a new order. After waiting for 30 minutes, I decided to call to see the status! The women on the phone hung up on me twice as soon as I requested the status while laughing! The driver finally arrives with the food but is missing the fries and drink. When I called to let them know, a very angry man answers. He stated he was "too busy to talk and has 40 orders" and hung up! I have been ordering for years and I am actually happy to know I will never be supporting this establishment again!

I wish I could give this spot more than five stars! The food, service, and atmosphere are all a 100/10. I am surprised that they do not have more customers with their delicious food. It is worth the price; in fact, it is worth more. Everything is fresh, from the meat to the vegetables in the burger, which taste like they have been just plucked from a garden. The bun is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The meat has an unimaginable level of flavor since it is grilled on open flame, instead of a griddle, and makes you want to keep taking another bite. The burgers are big and the sliders are a perfect size. Their chicken tenders are fresh and juicy. I would recommend the avocado chicken wrap. Actually, I would like to recommend everything on their menu. There are large portion sizes, all for just the right price.

Why are you advertising a salad with lettuce and not give?
Jessica L.

I'm writing this as the issue is happening. I place an order online for lunch at work. I order a steak salad which as the pic I have provided is described as 'Grilled slices of prime beef on a bed of lettuce'. $18. Worse than midtown prices (I've worked in midtown and still only spent $15). Mind you this is going on just as it's ok to eat certain kinds of romaine lettuce. I, along with a few of my co workers place my order and their meal comes with lettuce. Mine is with all the veggies I ordered my salad with, plus the steak. NO LETTUCE. WHO ORDERS A SALAD WITHOUT LETTUCE. IT ISNT A SALAD THEN. I DID NOT order a $18 salad - $22 with tax and tip for no lettuce. It looks like I'm making a stir fry. I called them right away - they told me they do not serve lettuce to kill people. Um what? Then PLEASE call me with the number I provided when I placed the order to tell me you do not have lettuce and do I want a substitute.....??? I'm not spending $22 for stir fry lol ... Lettuce just came. Honestly - salad is not that bad. Would i order again? no. Def not worth $18. Worse than Midtown... And why advertise a salad with lettuce if you dont provide. You just contradicted yourself Retro... NEVER again.

If you are in the neighborhood I would say, these smash burger are a good option for you…read more Ambiance: Came here in the afternoon, and the vibe was relaxed with nice music in the background and a lot of seatings. Food: Smash burger are great, they are not the best but I would rank it as top 5 in the city. I was pretty surprised how they charge for cheese (the place is mostly Kosher, and the Cheese of I remember is vegan) which contradict the concept of smash burgers. The fries were overly cooked if not almost burned, so I couldnt eat half of the basket. Service: ordering regular fries and getting trufle fries just to charge me extra is not a nice move. But having those popcorn and water cup made up for it little bit. If I knew I would be charged that much (burger + fries) I would have chosen from the lunch special menu

Wanted to like this place more but it missed the mark. This is really a 3.5 star review…read more I went on a weekday around 12:30 and it was completely empty. I was told to take a menu from the counter and that I could have a seat. Tried to order a mint lemonade but they didn't have any mint. OK so I ordered a strawberry basil iced tea, which was refreshing, but didn't really have much flavor in my opinion. When I looked at the menu, they had a lot of different burger options but I settled for a Smashburger that was shown on a summer menu. However, I then watched the waiter offer two groups who came after me a lunch special menu that was not offered or mentioned to me. Had I known there were lunch specials, I would've checked them out to see if I wanted to order. So I was a little upset that these were offered to everyone except me. In terms of the actual burger, I found the patties to be way too thin, even for a smash burger. To me it left the burger, feeling kind of skimp and not fulfilling at all. I also ordered fries which were honestly the star of the show. Lastly, I didn't feel like the service was up to par. There was a large table in front of a door and the waiter kept yelling to people to not sit at the table because he needed to access the door. My question is, why place a table in a spot that you know you need to be able to go in and out of? And then on top of that when he gave me the bill, it said one price, however, after I paid and a receipt was brought to me to sign it, had a different price. What I think happened is he did not add the drink the first time and I didn't notice, but I feel like when this happened you should just say to the customer that you forgot to add something and here's a new receipt. There was also an automatic 15% gratuity, which I wasn't fond of. I spent $40 for a lunch that I barely liked. Way too overpriced and not worth the visit imo.

If that's not the most Brooklyn thing ever, I don't know what is. Same sandwiches, different blessing. Everybody says order the pastrami, so I listened like a grown man should. Pastrami on rye with spicy mustard absolutely slapped. Smoky, juicy, perfectly stacked, and messy enough to ruin your shirt with honor. Then came the beef brisket on rye with a cup of au jus for dipping... and brother, that dip should be studied by scientists. Pure perfection. Washed everything down with a Dr. Brown's root beer like it was 1957. No fake trendy nonsense. No deconstructed sandwiches. Just old-school deli greatness that punches you directly in the soul. Great food doesn't care where you come from -- it just brings everybody to the same table. That's New York. That's Brooklyn.

Their signature burger is ultra juicy bf flavorful, even if you must get it well done ;), the Duck pastrami was really tender and had all the flavors of what a traditional pastrami would have. Their charcuterie board was phenomenal and chef said he'd be updating it from time to time with new additions as well. And I'm physical obsessed with their pickled veggies jar!! Loved their olive oil cake served with an in season persimmon and kumquat coulis, almost like a short cake and the sweet and tart of the fruit coulis complimented really well. Oh and they will hold your table 20 min past your reservation time, DO NOT BE LATER THAN THAT because there is a ton of walk ins and they will give your table up to one of the many hungry patrons waiting.
