You bring your car back in a few months later and the dealership said they can't honor that warranty no longer bc they send an email saying that they changed their terms of services and can't refund you that warranty that you brought bc all warranty sales are final. This is what this GameStop did. A few months ago, the store employee convinced my daughter to buy a warranty with her PS5 controller. Stating that if there's anything wrong with it within the year, just bring it in for a new controller. This was their "EXACT" words. A few months later, she brought it back in and they apologized stating that they changed their policy and that my daughter should have received an email back in October that they can't exchange for a new item anymore. GameStop are liars and have deceptive business practices!!! 1) what's the point of having warranty if you're not going to honor it and then refusing to refund me the money that I brought the warranty? 2) I don't care if I received an email, a letter, or even if you send Moses with the change of services craved in stone, you are basically lying about your business practices!

Games are organized alphabetically, with clear sections for each manufacturer, making your hunt for your latest video game obsession as easy as possible. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, with a lot of knowledge on the games they're offering if you have any questions. Prices seem pretty reasonable as well! Retro gaming can get expensive. I wouldn't say Phoenix Games is a bargain, but they're definitely not out to nickel and dime you from my experience. Overall, I'm always stoked to stop by when I'm in the area -- whether just to browse, or because I have a specific title in mind.

Considering these controllers are over 20 years old it was expected. We did some research and decided to bring our controllers here to get some attention. We were given a quote and dropped off the controllers to be looked at. While we were there we had so much fun looking at all the retro games, consoles, accessories and cards that they have at the shop. Everyone was really nice, helpful and welcoming and we were really impressed with the whole experience. They ended up calling us a couple days later to let us know the diagnosis for our controllers and what they'd be doing to fix them up. The final cost was below the quote and we're so happy to be able to play some classic games with our well loved controllers again.

Everything is priced very fairly and competitive with mainstream retailers, online platforms, and even other retro game shops. They do it all here: retro and new video games, consoles, trading cards, plushies, accessories, and more. I feel truly lucky to have found this spot. It's officially my new go-to for anything gaming-related, whether I need something ASAP, want to get a game disc resurfaced, or just want to pop in and see what's new. Their backroom looks like it's bursting with even more treasures and I'm excited to see how they grow over time. I wish San Francisco had more places like this because the city is really lacking when it comes to true video game stores. We don't even have a Gamestop anymore in the heart of the city. The closest video game store is in Stonestown, which can be very inconvenient to get to. If you're looking for a specific game or system and they don't have it, they'll even take your number and give you a call once they track it down. Such a thoughtful touch.
