Beef goulash

Right in one of the central plazas and a great spot to people watch!!! We stopped to have a couple beers and a quick snack and this was the perfect spot! A fair assortment of beer and a decent menu. Staff was friendly and spoke English which was helpful. Side note: be careful of pickpockets in the square!

Seated downstairs in the wine cellar area and had a great experience. Staff were attentive, the food and drinks were very good and arrived in a good time, and there was a live Musician which added to the great ambience. Highly recommended.

My husband and I were visiting Prague and decided to treat ourselves a nice dinner out. We chose The White Horse and ate downstairs in the cellar. The service was above our expectations! Patrick was our waiter and he was so attentive. Hermit and Sari also waited on us. We loved the atmosphere- so romantic, and there was a guitar player for the evening entertainment. My husband had some traditional food and then we tried the honey cake for dessert-delicious! The restaurant was right next to the astronomical clock and within walking distance of our hotel the Art Nouveau Hotel. We highly recommend choosing this restaurant

Fantastic atmosphere, great staff and delicious food. I had the BBQ ribs, and would stack them up with any thing we have in Alabama. They were that good.

Came across this place while in city center and it didn't disappoint. I got the "pornnn star martini" and my bf got a dark beer. The food was also amazing. (I loved the bread) would definitely recommend for the authentic Czech experience.

Food was tasty and authentic. Kind workers also who helped us figure out what we should order. Didn't hurt that we had an amazing view from the heated terrace!

We stopped here for a drink in the evening, and the cocktails were really good, and the restaurant is centrally located with good piazza views. The only turnoff was when waiters were begging/pushing for you to tip a certain amount, even though tipping is discretionary, so you can tip whatever you think is right... and asking for a tip is such an ugly thing to me. Leave customers alone, and you'll probably get tipped better that way.

Pork knuckle and goulash

It was a nice ambience in Old town. The hostess sat us in the front left corner-- By the square. It was really difficult to get service and we were debating on just leaving. My friend waved at the waiters 4 times with her hand then had to proceed to wave the menu multiple times to no avail. I understand if the restaurant is busy, but acknowledgement , a nod, or hand gesture would have sufficed. We ordered the goulash 4/10: bland, portion size was good, beef was tough . Pork knuckle was "drier" than previously 6/10. Then the waiter insisted on a 10-15% tip even when service was lacking. The entire experience was really off putting for my first meal in Prague and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

My friends and family had a chance to eat at White Horse during our first day in Prague. This restaurant is located in Old Town Square (right near the infamous Olorj clock) where we were seated outside (blankets and heat lamps were provided). We had multiple hot pear cocktails (our favs), spiked hot chocolate (sensational), traditional chicken noodle soup and tomato soups (UH-MAZING), traditional sausage, and ribs. Everything was so so good. The staff was patient and also spoke English. This was my fav restaurant during my stay in Prague. I'm hoping to come back to eat here next year.

Unassuming spot near the Astronomical Clock in old town. We had reservations but weren't needed on a quiet Sunday night. Live music from a guitarists and friendly waiter greeted us. We enjoyed a bottle of local Sauvignon Blanc with our meal, all delicious. A place to visit. Ask to sit downstairs/underground.

Duck confit

This is an absolute gem if you want to escape from the crowds, the noise, the heat, and the hustle and bustle of Prague's Old Town area; and enjoy a quiet, comfortable, and relaxing lunch in a medieval and romantic environment. White Horse is located in the cellar (basement) of a medieval 12th century structure, which, according to the restaurant's website, is listed by UNESCO as a historical building. The interior of the restaurant is classically designed and the ambience is nothing short of breathtaking. What about the food? DUCK CONFIT: The meat was tender, flavorful, and moist - just like it was cooked in its own juice and fat. This confit was much better than the one we had the previous day at Imperial Café (see separate review). To make this dish even better, it came with a serving of freshly mashed potatoes that was slightly chunky, creamy, buttery, and delicious. CHICKEN SCHNITZEL: Although I found the schnitzel thicker than it should be, (at least compared with schnitzels from other European places), I was happy with the thin and crispy layer of the breading, as well as the tender and moist chicken breast meat. The mashed potatoes of this dish, however, were of a different texture than that from the confit. It was not as good.

Very delicious food and a very nice restaurant with amazing service in the heart of the Prague They have outdoor and indoor basement with life music, I wish I knew about this restaurant before I could come to eat here every other day unfortunately today is my last day in Prague.

I'll never forget the memories we made here. This was a performance/sight seeing tour so not only did our guides give us a history of the area and venues, but we were able to make our own. Not many people can ever say they've played here, especially not many Americans, certainly not from my area, or my background. The fact that we were able to secure the nations top concert hall for a foreign youth symphony was pretty special. I'm also kind of glad to have the 1st English review to really give a completely different perspective (I translated the previously posted reviews). Most Americans are uncultured, untraveled, and to some degree I am too, but without going into too much detail, this is a must for anyone. There are no other halls like this Imperial Concert Hall. Sure Germany has more famous composers, but neither the Opernhaus Dortmund or Konzerthaus have the prestige. You'll often see the Czech Philharmonic playing here. Other halls of this era tend to look more like bank's with the pillars, but the Mendellsohn statue and the ornate interior make this special. The curtains, the everything handcrafted, carved. It has some modern amenities, but has not lost it's old world feel. Compared to more modern halls the acoustics are excellent. The back hallways aren't as small as I'd thought, usually places have small back rooms and staging areas, the lighting is very bright to the performer, but dim to the audience. The seats are pretty comfortable, certainly for an hour or two. The bathrooms have modern amenities and even those are still pretty opulent. You can tell this place was built to stage performances to some high class folks with the coat racks, # of benches and the way the main hallways are designed. When you're on stage performing in a place like this you can almost hear the crowds of hundreds of years applauding you through the ages as you stand in the footsteps of greatness.

The server that served us was good, but we went around 8:30, and there were only 4 other customers sitting down. We didn't see a server at first or a hostess, so we tried to ask someone that's behind the entrance making coffee if we can just sit down. Let me tell you that she was so rude, as in she didn't even acknowledge our existence and totally stared and turned her head away. For an establishment in the middle of a tourist center open during breakfast hour, maybe have a cup or two of coffee so you don't become so rude. A few days in Prague, and by far, this was the rudest encounter. Everywhere else, they were super nice.

There were two small stages open when my boyfriend and I went, one upstairs and one downstairs. You can buy tickets upstairs to enter but make sure you have Crowns because they won't accept card or euros. Both of the stages had their own atmosphere, one was more chilled out techno that you just wanted to sway to and the other stage had a bit more upbeat music.
