Rescue Roofing has done several roof repairs and new roof installations in our neighborhood. When we were looking for a quality roofing company to either repair or replace our leaking flat roof, we selected Rescue Roofing, which turned out to be an excellent choice on our part. This winter we had a roof leak in one of our bathrooms. Tony was busy doing a roof repair but he came over the next day and thoroughly inspected our roof and vent pipes. He gave us a choice of either repairing the roof or replacing it, as well as replacing the vent pipes which were rusting. We chose to replace our roof and have a combination of copper and aluminum vent pipes installed along with the installation of copper gravel stops. The combination of copper and aluminum pipes gave us good protection at a reasonable cost. We signed a contract in early January, and Tony and his crew did the job when we had four sunny days in March. Given that we had to wait awhile before Tony could start the job because of the bad weather and his backlog, he promised to make temporary repairs at no cost if we had any leaks while we were waiting for him to start our job. Tony gave us a detailed list of the work to be done. The price was very reasonable, especially given the fact that he had to remove two layers of roofing material instead of just one layer, to get down to the bare wood. One major reason that we were happy that we selected Rescue Roofing was the fact that Tony stayed on our job site, and, with his crew, he actually did the work, not just supervised it from another job site. We've had to do a number of repairs to our home in the last year and Tony is hands down the most professional, courteous, transparent, and experienced service provider we've had the fortune of working with. We had to deal with a leaky roof that had been worked on and allegedly repaired the previous year, at the start of the rainy season. Tony was able to squeeze us into his busy schedule to completely redo a very small and cramped roof at the bottom of a light shaft. With all the rain we got lately, we haven't seen a drop of water leaking and he also fixed a couple of other issues on our main roof. I've employed Rescue Roofing a few times now and Tony has always done excellent work at a fair price and has been very forthcoming with good advice. He replaced our roof about 10 years ago, did touch-up work after our solar installer left a few spots improperly sealed, and replaced a skylight that blew off in a storm. Most recently, I called him when we had leakage in our garage after heavy rains and I suspected a gutter might be clogged. He assured me the gutter was clear, but noticed cracks in our stucco front as he was ascending the ladder. Our stucco and plastering contractor is currently remedying the problem. Tony and his crew just finished installing a new roof at my moms house yesterday. They did a fantastic job and I'm extremely pleased with their work with the time and effort they put in on the job. Back in April, at my moms request to install a new roof, I got several estimates for the job and Tony's was the most reasonable and within her budget. Once restrictions were eased to allow construction work to resume, we were able to schedule a start date. The work took two and a half days. Each day they showed up at the promised time. And before leaving, the crew always made sure the clean up was done properly, not only at our house but at our neighbors house as well since a lot of debris went everywhere. When I lived in the area I had a roof leak I had an appointment setup for an estimate with Tony. He came by, assessed the situation and got me a quote within a couple of days. He explained very clearly what was going on and why things were leaking. The quote was very reasonable, in fact, so reasonable we ended up not getting other quotes. He came out the day he was supposed to, did all the work, cleaned it all up, explained exactly what he did, and even got me up on the roof to doublecheck the work. I asked him to give me a second quote not long after as the backside of our house was leaking. Over the phone he thought it was the flashing, and quoted me a price to replace it. I OK'd the work, but when he came out to inspect it in person, he said it was my stucco instead, and didn't ask me to pay a cent. He was absolutely right too -- I ended up getting that part of the house re-stuccoed and no more leaks. If I ever live in the area again I'd definitely give Tony a call for roofing needs. read more

When we needed a new roof, we called Tony of Rescue Roofing, as he had done work for us before, replacing our gutters so we knew his work was good. Tony and his team did a great job replacing the roof, including ripping out two layers of old roofing and replacing two leaking skylights and an old rusted out vent hood for the stove. Tony also saw that the previous roofers had sealed off the attic access to the roof which is a fire code violation, and he repaired that as well. He extended the roofing to seal the crack between our house and the neighboring adjacent structure so that water wouldn't leak into the space between our buildings. After each day's work, the team swept up and left everything neat as a pin. Tony is a man who takes pride in his work. Our contractor just happened to be doing some work on our house soon after the roof was installed and he commented that the roofing job had been done really well. El Nino 2016 is coming, they kept warning us, replace your roof now before it is too late!! Around November of 2015, there were a few showers and I noticed there was a leak in the roof of my garage. I called a bunch of places and no one responded to me except for Tony. Tony told me that business has been busy because everyone is scrambling to prepare for the upcoming rainy season. He quoted me that he was fully booked 9 weeks out. I was worried that the rain was going to come before that and I have no idea the condition of the roof in other parts of the house. Tony agreed to come the next day to give me a free estimate. He was honest and professional; his business is also licensed, insured and bonded. He recommended that I only replace a portion of my roof since my current roofing is only 12-15 years old and that I had approximately 8 years left to the existing roof. He was also able to tell me that the reason I have a leak was because the people who installed my current roof used pressure nail guns which shot through the roofing, causing the leak. I was impressed by his expertise. I decided to go with Tony even though he had a tight schedule. He told me that he was booked 9 weeks out, but a week later, he gave me a call and told me he would be able to do it on a Saturday! Score! Tony and his crew showed up on time, got the job done in 6 hours, cleaned all the debris up and hauled it all away. Tony told me that they hand nailed all the shingles on to prevent the nail from going all the way through the roof with a pressure nail gun. He was able to answer all my questions via email and responded promptly. I even had questions after the job was done and Tony made himself available. Now El Nino can bring it!!!!!!!!!! He was the only roofer to call us back the day we had our ceiling leak through, at the end of a series of storms that must have every roofer in the Bay Area busy. Thoughtful, didn't try to make more work, and gave us a good price, on a good quality job to last over time. We had a leak somewhere in our roof, unknown where. He didn't try to push replacement of new roof, but sealed the leaks all around in half a day with a crew of four. He even did some extra sealing where he found bad sealing on eaves and overhangs. He came by and squeezed us into his schedule before the next set of rains. I'm sure he was backed up at least 4 weeks, but since ours was an active leak, he bumped us up. Tony from Rescue Roofing is fantastic. I had my whole roof, gutters, 2 downspouts, and 4 eave vents replaced. My rusty gutters were leaking and my roof was getting old. It was important that I get all the roof work done with permits and that the company be licensed. I found Rescue Roofing on Yelp and later found out my mother-in-law had her roof replaced by Tony 8 years ago (no issues). Tony came by on a Saturday the same week I called. He took pictures of my roof and went over some recommendations. He was professional, knowledgeable, and nice. There was no pressure to do everything or anything. Tony gave me estimates on costs on the spot and sent me a written estimate the next day. I had another estimate from a different roofing company the prior week and Tony's estimate was a much better deal. I accepted Rescue Roofing's estimate and at the time, I was scheduled 12 weeks out on their waitlist. I had cracks in my chimney and was concerned because rain was headed our way soon. Tony personally made an extra trip out just to put up a temporary cover on my chimney before the big rain came and he did not charge me for this. Last week, Tony called and a spot opened up 4 weeks earlier than expected. Tony and his team completed the work in three days (Thursday, Friday, and Monday). All work went smoothly and they cleaned up everything very well. Tony took pictures of my new roof and I personally got to see the fantastic job they did on the roof. Tony did a lot of extra work for me. My old galvanize steel vents had rusted open, pigeons got in, and bird control got them out. Tony special ordered the copper eave vents to prevent rusting and bird problems in the future. Tony and his team also got rid of dry rot on areas of my roof, regraded the flat part of my roof so that water no longer pools on the roof, and removed and sealed off an unused skylight, all at no additional charge. They even secured a dangling wire I had on my roof without being asked. I can tell Tony cares and takes pride in his job. I appreciate his attention to detail and personally showing me all the things he and his team did. All permits and paperwork were signed off on and a copy was given to me for my records. I called rescue roofing a few weeks back to get their expertise on a roof leak we found during the rainy season. When I called the gentleman answered right away (awesome!) and told me he would call on Monday with times he could come out on either Tuesday or Wednesday. I told him Wednesday was better and that I would wait to hear back from him. In the meantime I cleared my Wednesday morning. He did not call back until Thursday, and although I was slightly annoyed I figured people are busy and no worries. We set a time for him to come to the house that Saturday. So again, we rearranged our day to allow for his visit since we had a confirmed time. When Saturday arrived, he did not show up, nor did he call at any point. We waited until 2 hrs past his scheduled time and then gave up. Not amazing service. I understand people are busy, but our family is as well. read more

My central-sunset house was badly in need of a roof replacement. We had an multi-decade old tar & gravel roof that was badly deteriorated. I have Tony a call, and came by and he gave an estimate for a torch-down roof. It was a fair estimate, so we decided to go with him. The moment he and his crew showed up to do the project, I knew we made the right decision. They were efficient, skilled, professional, and went above and beyond what they had promised. Every day they showed up at 8AM (sometime earlier) and stayed until it got dark. I felt well informed during the project. Tony called me regularly to update me on the status of the project, and he took pictures as he was working. We also asked them to install attic insulation because we had none. Although this was a complex project that involved removing all of our roof boards, they did it efficiently and it only added one extra day to the project. They replaced a few broken rafters for little extra cost, and replaced some damaged tiles and boards for no extra cost. The before & after pictures are astonishing. Our roof looks so much cleaner. I got a recommendation for Rescue Roofing, but also got two other estimates. Tony responded very quickly when I called for an estimate. He did tell me right up front that he was booked weeks out due to all the rain we had been getting. All my estimates were pretty close to the amount, but the reason I went with Tony and Rescue Roofing was because he was the only roofer to attempt to solve the problem of my mom's flat roof. The other roofers were going to take off the current roof and replace it with the same flat roof. The water pools on flat roofs and doesn't drain to the downspout. Tony's solution would be to use insulation to build up the roof so it would slope the water to the drain. This would not solve the problem entirely, but worked toward not allowing the rain water to collect, pool on the roof, and eventually work its way through the roof. His price included tearing off the old roof, haul away all materials, replace 2 skylights on the roof, all the vents replaced, and area cleaned. Due to his staff being booked for weeks out, we did have to wait, but luckily there wasn't too much rain. Tony kept me apprised of the schedule so I could be prepared. Tony and his crew finished my Mom's roof in only 1 day, instead of the 2 he originally stated. His crew started early and worked efficiently. Each of his workmen knew exactly what their job was and didn't need any guidance from him. I could see that they worked as a team and each worker performed his task. They stopped for about a half hour lunch and then started back and amazingly finished in one day. Tony took pictures when they finished and emailed them to me that very same night. The next day they came to work on my Aunt's house next door. They completed the skylights the second day. Good VALUE, HONEST, meticulous, and VERY KNOWLEGEABLE Roofer! If you care about your hard earned money, you would be remiss in not including Tony (owner) of Rescue Roofing (located in DALY CITY) as one of your estimates! He was the ONLY one who flat out said I did NOT need a new roof (bitumen, 16 years old), and that in two years, I could have it coated for less than 20% the cost of a full replacement (should last 7-10 years). He showed me that my condensation problems with the skylights were due to suboptimal design (ie, make it higher [14 inches] on one side, so the condensation would flow down the glass out through the skylight drains; another roofer suggested a laminated glass & aluminum skylight @ ~ 3 times the cost, which STILL would not fix the problem without incorporating the above design!). I was also having repeated leaks around a taller vent (from kitchen), and Tony suggested a much shorter chimney that would not be buffeted by the wind, resulting in small cracks in the seal at the base. I ended up getting my 3 skylights, and chimney replaced (Tony was onsite installing and supervising, so I was confident that my concerns would be addressed properly). His prices are more than reasonable (especially when you factor in his money saving advice, WITHOUT sacrificing quality), which you would expect IF you're considering hiring a roofer FROM San Francisco. Daly City vs. San Francisco, now WHERE do you think it costs more to do business? NO BRAINER, and you get to keep the difference! They were able to institute some temporary emergency fixes that arose during the December 2014 storms, then when we got to the front of the waiting list (8 weeks), they did a perfect job. The San Francisco job included new plywood, felt, flashing, gutters, and shingles, as well as removing a chimney and fabricating a couple special pieces for odd angular sections. He showed me pictures of someone else's roof and told me I needed a whole new roof. The surface was not even the same color as my roof. The actual work that was needed was just some minor patching and sealing amounting to less than $400, a far cry from over $5k for a new one. I would not trust this company. They tried to scam me.
