After 28 years a new roof was overdue. I got bids from companies around the Bay Area, including Freutel Roofing here in Pacifica. I made sure to include Freutel because they put the old roof on and over the years gave us great service with any issues. I'm glad to say that Freutel's bid came in very reasonable and included the use of higher quality materials than the others. Their work crew did a great job got the old roof on and the new on one in less than three days. I have no reason to think there will be any issues with the new roof, but if there is I know that Freutel will be there to back up their work. A little disappointed with this company. I had an issue with the gutters they installed. There were dents on gutter where they did the final inspection. They were pretty expensive to install and didn't like the fact they started with some minor damage. I called the company and they come a few days later to see the dents. I was having the house painted and wanted the repair prior to painting. They said it looked OK when they left the inspection. They will be back that day or tomorrow. They never returned or contacted me. I was satisfied with the roof job done. The office and the crew were great to work with. Freutel Roofing put a roof on one side of our house years ago. They were professional and reasonably priced. Since that time, we've had a few situations where we need to call on them for help with issues on the other part of the house or caused by other construction on the house. Our most recent call was yesterday. After a major storm, we found a shingle in our yard that looked like it came from our roof. I called yesterday and got a quick callback. With as many calls as I expect Freutel may be getting after the recent storm, I was pleased to hear that they could come assess the damage today. They assessed the damage this morning, and were able to squeeze us in to fix it this afternoon. The work was minor, but important. We are now confident that our roof will keep our the water when it rains again next week. I highly recommend Freutel Roofing. I wanted to use a local company to support my community. I called and made an appointment for them to come out and give me an estimate. On the date and time of the appointment, no one showed up. I waited an hour. I also called 2 times and left messages and my phone number. I waited 10 days for a callback from the company, but I never received a call. I understand that there can be mix ups, but they should have at least called back to try to make amends. It's too bad, I really wanted to support local businesses. read more

Called to schedule an estimate appointment, was told they were booked up 4 months until Sept/Oct 2019. Not in a rush, scheduled Jim to arrive at 1pm, he shows up at 10am, luckily my wife was home to let him know what we wanted. Why show up at 10am knowing appt was at 1pm with no call warning? Also did not ask what we wanted (type of roofing, color choice, nothing!). Jim said would mail estimate. 2 weeks received a mailed estimate with my name spelled wrong. Would recommend getting several other estimates; this company has many booked jobs and are most likely trying to catch-up on the back log of jobs during spring/summer. read more

The roof was great. They fixed a ton of dry rot for us, too. But the thing that stood out to me was that they continued to offer great customer service after the work was done. When I found a tiny bit of dry rot that they missed, they came right out to fix it. Okay, I don't know anything about roofs so much so that I can't describe the problem. There was an issue with my light well that was causing my garage to flood (go figure). I heard of Freutel Roofing through a friend and I'm very grateful for the reference. Mike, the owner, came to my place in a timely fashion to evaluate the state of my light well. He was very clear about what needed to happen, and he mentioned that I may need to bring in a plumber if there was an issue with my drain. Shortly thereafter, I received a quote that was pretty clear. When they came to do the work, the crew was very friendly and not intrusive. Daniele, who works in the office, was great at keeping me informed about what was happening via phone and email. I was never guessing about what they were working on (to the extent that I could understand roof issues). It turned out that I did need to have a plumber come in, and the Freutel team worked well with him. Now I don't cringe when it rains because my light well does what it's supposed to do. on day 3 of buying a house, i tested a wall and found my hand went through the drywall to the outside wall. i tried to contact many roofers through yelp, and my neighbor recommended Freutel's. of all of the people i contacted for a quote, Freutel's was the only one that showed up with graph paper, and drew the elevations of my roof. of all the quotes, Freutel's was the only one that fixed the design of the roof, and not just replaced shingles. yes, they are busy and it took a while for them to be able to come out and do the estimate. of all the estimates, this was the cheapest, but i would have picked them anyway since they came out with graph paper. and once i signed the contract, they showed up the next day, fixed the problems, and removed the ugly dish satellites too. read more

Hi it took 3 weeks for someone to come out to give an estimate. I understood that as the storms this last winter kept people busy. But after the representative came out to see the job. I was told I would get an estimate in a week. Did not receive and estimate. Three weeks later I call and leave a polite message. No call back but I was sent a single line e-mail saying the do not want to do the job and gave a name referral. The referral never answered my phone call so..... i was left starting from base one. I start the process of adding solar to my house... but after inspection, it was required that I needed a reroof. So, off to Yelp for a search and Freutel came up with great reviews... and they were local and family run. Their price was hard to beat.. and they got the job done relatively fast. Freutel Roofing did an excellent job on our roof...They were professional from beginning to end, We received 3 bids for our roof which needed a complete tear off , plywood sheathed and re-shingle. Freutal was not the cheapest, nor the highest, but sometimes cheapest is not always the best bid. All of the insurance and Workman's comp copies were promptly forwarded to me along with several references, which I called. Several contractors I know of in Pacifica told me that Freutel was the best...Mike and his office scheduled everything perfectly. They showed right on time and cleaned up after every day around the home. The inspector, supply truck, and crew were scheduled perfectly, so there was no stoppage of work. We hired Freutel Roofing to replace a tar and gravel flat roof on the back of our house. They did a fantastic job. The office lady Daniele kept in contact with us to let us know when the guys would be here, what would be happening and approximately how long it would take. The timing was accurate. All of our expectations were exceeded. Attention to detail was awesome. They noticed some things that needed to be done which were not a part of their job and they took care of them anyhow. They were a little more expensive then other quotes but were recommended by friends. They fixed my roof leak and everything was good until I caught their workers trying to steal stuff from my backyard and going through my garbage and recycling bins. When I confronted them they said they knocked on the door and I didn't answer (my son was sleeping they said I did not need to be home) so they didn't think I was home. That's great! I wasn't home so they can help themselves to anything they find of value and steal it. Very unprofessional!!!! I called to complain and let them know that their workers were trying to steal from their clients, no follow up call, they just mailed me the bill. Freutel was exceptional about estimating the project cost and schedule. The work cost was more than fair and actually very competitive. Danielle followed up often and fast. The crew that did the work (led by Michael) was exceptionally professional and extremely knowledgable.
