They worked with us to customize their work to our coastal climate and were very transparent about exactly what materials they would be using (all top of the line, industral-grade!). I have pets and toddlers and they took my concerns about chemical disinfects seriously and offered several options to make sure I was comfortable with what was used in our home. They really seem to take pride in their work and enjoyed sharing before and after pictures to demonstrate all the improvements they made to our crawl space. I could not be happier with my choice to hire them, and plan to work with them again when I'm ready to replace my attic insulation.

Chris came out early on a Saturday morning to meet me and inspect my attic. He provided a free estimate, according to my availability, not his which I greatly appreciated. When the crew came out they were on time and very professional and courteous. I would also like to add that it was A very hot day yet, they took their time and did not try to rush or take any short cuts. They sealed off everything in the work area and did a very thorough clean up after the work was done. When Elmer came out, he took about 30 minutes to walk through the house and gave us a completely different--and much more reassuring--assessment. He identified entry points where rodents were getting into the crawl space, explained that the air ducts did not need to be replaced, and instead recommended insulating the rafters, reinsulating the attic floor, and cleaning and reinsulating the crawl space. He also suggested installing an attic fan to improve air circulation. Throughout the visit, he was straightforward, knowledgeable, and very approachable. We decided to move forward with the attic fan. Umar updated the contract promptly and even came out personally to help program the fan and connect it to my phone. There has been this persistent smell of rodent urine in one of our closets for literally decades, no matter what we have done. Not any more! I could not recommend Rywen Insulation more highly for rodent control work. We've had rodent control people here before, but never at the level that Rywen takes things to. They put in place genuine long-term preventative measures to keep rats and mice out, not just patching holes. And that has made all the difference. No more smell in our under-the-stairs closet! And, I'm not sure if it is always a part of their service, but they offered us a one-year warranty. Rats and mice did return --- probably due to a contractor leaving our crawlspace door open overnight with the lights on, several times (oops). But Rywen took care of the problem immediately, no questions asked and no additional money requested, for the entire year of the warranty. They aren't cheap. But they are soooo worth it.

In the middle of the construction, they actually suggested that we have space to get an 18"-dishwasher installed which is my most favorite part of the renovation. We do recommend having a good air filter running nearby though to pick up any stray dust. Since we're not designers, having input from both Dmitriy and Karen throughout the entire process was invaluable. There were many decisions to make during the renovation, and their expertise and experience made a huge difference. Don't even remember how I found Paul Edwards...the BIG IRISH BOSS; I am not only happy I did, but…read moretotally blessed as well. In 1999 I purchased a 5 unit apartment building with full amenities (carport, laundry room, lockers, covered garages)...built in 1979. In 2014 moved back to prepare the building for much needed work. It took me 4 years to find the right contractor(s). You deal with so much bull from so many...it's amazing. Paul stood out...from start to finish. He delivered everything he promised. Paul came to the site and listened to what I wanted and the questions I had; he took measurements and walked around...asked a lot of questions...not one of his questions were: "What's your budget?" Instead, he said he would have to consider the time, manpower, and the project as a whole (if it was workable), then he would devise a bid, send me a copy, and set up a time to go over it with me. Paul was so thorough that when he left I began to hope (worry) he could and would take the job. Paul called me once or twice to clarify the work. He would install insulation, use OSB (instead of plywood), and TyVek (brand). Decision on the siding came down the line (between stucco, APE, and T1 11); also installed brand new double-pane windows. Paul was cool with my choices; he said they are all pretty much within the same range regarding interiors. The bid was sent a week later and we met several days after to go over everything. My bids came in from, $169,000 to $301,000; Paul was in the middle with every detail down to the wire. His bid was so clear and crisp from the Permit application to the caution of placing extra money aside for unexpected problems (dry rot, termites) that are common in jobs this big. It also included all labor, materials, scaffolding, what he did do and wouldn't do (dryVit stucco). In May of 2018...we were on board...signed, sealed, delivered to start July 7, 2018; this gave me time to notify my tenants and let them know they could not park in their assigned spots until the work was complete. Scaffolding arrived on the day and time promised. Paul's crew are THE BEST AND SECOND TO NONE. They worked hard, were on time every day, Monday - Friday 8: am - 4:30 pm with a half hour lunch, and were immaculate. Every day they left the area swept and clean...all garbage and debris removed (including all the old siding). They were also extremely courteous to my tenants and a very fun bunch of happy guys...just great to have on a job like this. The job went really smooth, Inspector was happy and we passed all three inspections. We ran into some dry rot and termite damage; dry rot included 3 beams under steps and deck (rough job), and termite damage was 1 beam (termite damage was under warranty and cost us nothing). Beams with dry rot only added $6,000...mainly because they had to secure the decks on 4 floors to remove the old beams and replace with new (labor). It was a good save and the building is really secure. Decided on same siding, "T1 11" and pre-mix special color stucco on ground level (pictures attached). The bid never changed. Work was wrapped up in mid-August 2018 and I couldn't be happier...so are my tenants. Two important issues: 1). Paul returns and responds to all your calls and texts immediately. 2). He always keeps you informed on what is going on (where you're at, what's next, timelines). That's my review of Exterior Remodeling Specialists...THE BEST EVER CONTRACTOR & CREW!!! **If you are going to do siding, painting, and / or anything that requires scaffolding...bring your neighbors on board. Send them a letter letting them know what you are planning, the work and time involved, and who your contractor is. It shows respect and helps the project along. I did all of the above and offered to clean the exterior of their windows when the job is complete (for all the dust & dirt that flew around). They were all very appreciative and were great to Paul and his crew. **This is up to you...but I treated the crew to lunch every Friday ($20 each), and once in a while brought them some cookies or cupcakes. When they wrapped up I gave each of them a $100 bill with a "Thank You" note. They deserved that and more. **Read your contract CAREFULLY. Paul is honest and thorough...but others (if you don't use Paul) have loop holes that are going to protect them...NEVER YOU. Stephen Lee of Master Roofing System and his crews have done an excellent job for replacing the roof for our residence. The work included a 3-layer torch-down modified bitumen system for the flat roof area, a HD shingle system for the pitched roof side and all the copper work. Stephen Lee's estimate was reasonable. He is a knowledgeable, hands-on and hard-working guy and a true professional. He always answered my calls and our questions with detailed explanations. Sergio did the original inspection and estimate, and went over both the company and the work plan with me before I selected them from the several other companies who provided estimates. Their estimate was in the middle, and they didn't require payment except the deposit until completion of work and final inspection. The project manager Luis and his team completed the work, which was a complete tear-off and re-shingle, in a little more than 3 days. They did a beautiful job, including some improved flashing compared with the last time it was done, and those new Ohagen vents. They cleaned up and left the site spotless every day, no nails or other waste. The concrete pad around the house is cleaner than when they started. At the end, I asked Luis how long he thinks this roof might last. "Forty years" was his confident reply. It's so nice not to have to worry about any more leaks! We've already had a couple of heavy rains since then and the new roof is functioning perfectly. Highly recommended!

It turns out the repairs were on an outdoor living space that Was roofed by the contractor not CFY. Not only did they make the repairs, they found a couple of other issues that were not called out. Scheduling was easy, and Jose and his team were here for half a day. They also cleared the cobwebs that were accumulating on the front of the house without prompting. In short, CFY was communicative, accommodating, and proactive about clarifying the additional work. They sent before and after photos. I hope to not need roof work in the future, but if I do, I will definitely reach out to CFY first.

Erast was truly a blessing in the middle of an incredibly stressful and disheartening situation. From the beginning, he was professional, transparent, and honest. I had decided that I should hire a different roofing company to make the repairs. However, Erast cautioned me that if he performed repairs himself, it could potentially void the warranty I am still waiting to receive from the original company. Instead of trying to get the job, he offered to document the condition of the roof by taking photographs before the original company attempted to "correct" their errors, and then to conduct a follow-up inspection afterward to ensure my home was safe. The photographs he provided were eye-opening and devastating. They revealed egregious installation errors and structural damage far worse than the visible issues I had already noticed. Even more troubling, the images showed that the workmanship on my original roof--prior to its replacement--was significantly superior to the work performed during the new installation. Seeing that comparison in black and white was incredibly upsetting. It is difficult to comprehend how any roofing contractor could remove a drainage system without a homeowner's knowledge and leave a roof without proper drainage, exposing the structure to preventable damage. Although Erast initially offered to independently inspect the original company's corrective work for my protection, his thorough documentation ultimately gave me the clarity and confidence to decide that I cannot allow that crew back onto my property. Erast consistently put my best interests ahead of his own profit. If you are looking for a contractor with integrity, transparency, and genuine care for his clients, Eco Smart Roofer is the company to call. If the reasoning made sense, I would've picked them for the job. I'm happy to pay more for quality / longevity and knowing that I won't have to get a job redone in a decade. I kept getting canned responses from this contractor, and they refused to engage on the specifics. A good contractor would stand behind their estimate and explain how they arrived at it. It sounds to me like they weren't interested in taking on the job, which is why they gave an exorbitant quote, instead of refusing the job outright.

I had a few quotes from different companies and they were just wanting to rip up the roofing on the light well and redo the whole roof. Brian came along and just said he could fix it with a corrugated panel on top and fixing the scupper like it was supposed to be fixed. The previous roofers did a lousy job and when my roof got clogged and flooded, it was just the side near the window that was leaking and caused all the water damage in the bathroom and in the garage. Brian said he could just fix it without having to redo the roof and my impression of him was that he was down to earth honest. He fixed the problem and without a lot of cost involved. His straightforwardness basically saved me a lot of money. These are the types of people I like to work with. Honest contractors are hard to find. If you have any roofing issues, I highly recommend you hire this company to take a look. Brian will give you an honest assessment and not try to get more money off of you than is necessary. That's worth its weight in gold.
