Amazing experience with Master Roofing. I've hired many different contractors and roofing company for various properties/projects, and must say I'm impressed. Stephen is super knowledgeable, clearly highly experienced and provides a greasy deal of value. He explained everything in detail and did precisely as agreed. The pricing was very competitive and most important of all, my roof looks great! Highly recommended. read more

New asphalt roof. This company is remarkable. Stephen Lee is excellent to work with. His explanations are concise and and thorough. His patience, for a senior, like myself will forever be appreciated.. I particularly was impressed with the many moving parts in a roof replacement. From logistics and organization to having a crew of 10 or 11 on my roof, the crew was efficient , and hard working. No standing around waiting for someone to tell them what to do. Maybe that also has to do with Stephen feeding them breakfast and lunch!!!! When all was finished they cleaned up my yard and left with smiles. Incredible. Why can't the country run like this! Excellent Service and reliable expertise I was looking to replace the roof and got few quotes, I knew the very first time I met Stephen, he is my guy. He was honest, knowledgeable and listened to my concerns. His pricing was the best and he finished the job in the time he said he would, his crew was friendly, considerate and neat. I am so glad we were able to find Stephen through Yelp. read more

We heartily endorse Stephen Lee and his Master Roofing Systems company without reservation. Our roof was over 40 years old and had to be completely replaced. Mr. Lee did a thorough inspection and showed us the MB Technology materials he would use. His estimate came in at $6200 less than the cost of our next-door neighbor's new roof, installed just a couple of weeks before. Since MRS is much in demand, it took several weeks to schedule our roof, but it was worth the wait. The MRS work crew is a highly skilled, efficient and well-coordinated team of hard fast workers. They had the old roof off and the base for the new roof applied and water-sealed the first day. It rained the next day, so Stephen and crew returned to complete the job the day after, which was dry and sunny. We now have a new state-of-the-art green technology white roof, with galvanized steel flashings and flues, copper drain outlet and a new frame covering for the light well to boot. The old Spanish tiles are replaced with new ones. It's a clean, aesthetic professional job with a 15-year warranty, but we expect it will last much longer. There were no additional charges, and all went according to plan. It was a pleasure to experience the service and quality of having MRS install our new roof. read more

My roof was installed by Master Roofing Systems. Their price was reasonable . Because of the drought in last few years, I couldn't tell how good was the roof until last year. A sudden heavy rain fall in a day. The roof was pooling about 4 inches. Mr. Lee of the owner finally show up but decided not to inspect the roof since there was no internal leak visible. He claims the roof was not built correctly , and need more slope. I tried to contact him many times and offer him a job to correct the drainage problem. No response from him ever ! read more

Stephen and his team just helped us re-do our torchdown roof and it was an absolutely great experience ....I would highly recommend them. He responded quickly when I contacted him for an estimate and his estimate was very reasonable and once the rain subsided his team was here and did the job in one day. He originally said it would take about 2 days, so he was done earlier, which almost never happens. Stephen and his team were amazing, friendly, professional, and prompt, and did a great job cleaning up after they were done. Also, he fixed dry rot that he found while doing our roof. Amazing attention to detail and superb workmanship! Now I can rest easy when the next rain comes that my roof will not leak! read more

If I could give Stephen and Master Roofing Systems SIX stars I would. His crew did an excellent job. They were punctual, dependable, hard-working, and respectful. They swept-up around the yard at the end of each day and kept things clean. Their workmanship was high-quality and detail-oriented. They finished the job on time. Stephen was great. He always answered my texts and calls. His price was right. Most of all, he went out of his way to do an excellent job. One example: when the crew removed the old flashing, some of the paint peeled. I don't think this is their fault...it would have happened to anyone. Stephen had his crew paint the area! This saved me from having to hire a painter. I was blown away by this service. Stephen is an excellent craftsman. I had him custom design copper vents for my chimneys. He did a beautiful job. I could not be happier with the result...the copper vents add a custom, elegant touch to the house. Of course, the roof itself turned out great too. Overall, I could not be any happier with my new roof or Master Roofing Systems. Stephen is an honest guy, he is easy to work with, and he will give you a superior product. I highly recommend them. ****** read more

I would highly recommend Master Roofing if you need a complete tear off or a reroof. The crew was on time and took care of protecting plants and the deck as well. Steven has been demonstrating professionalism with high integrity. He has rich experiences. He had completed roofing job for my house in Palo Alto about 11 years ago. My house has roof with large custom skylight and we have high wind during the winter time. There is no roofing issue for last 11 years. He is very friendly and easy to work with and listen to the customer. I was very much impressed with his excellent roofing workmanship for the one of Silicon valley's CEO's house project in Atherton as a reference. I found out that he was selected by a well known architect for the project after stringent screening process. I am really satisfied with his excellent job with reasonable price. And I am planning to ask him again for my another rental house roofing job. Highly recommended to my friends and family. read more

Excellent company. Mr. Lee, the owner was so helpful and gave me an excellent quote - much much better than the 3 other estimates I got. All work was done with quality workmanship and everything on the contract was done. His crew was great and very professional and left the workplace clean. We had a modified bitumen roof installed because it was a flat roof. It was great to work with them. Now I can rest assured that my roof will last me another 20 years. stephen did the roof for us in 2014. sine then, needed to reach out to him to get after sales service. either he responded to say he would come by which never happened, or recently for a problem with vent pipe they installed with no response at all. read more

I received a recommendation from a quality house paint that said their work was decent. Wrong! Stephen Lee and his crew finished my roof in a quick, clean, and superb manner. Stephen gave an estimate and outlined the exact procedure his crew would follow. His is very low key but knows his business. The drain at the back of the roof he enlarged and used copper, the same as my gutters. The application of the roofing material by his crew was smooth on the flat roof. The shingles on the front part of the roof were replaced using stainlesssteel flashings. I have not seen other roofers this quality material, just galvanized cheap trim. Two contractor friends gave me a thumbs up for such a quality job! Another rowhouse lives again! read more

Master Roofing did my roof back in late 2012. They were quick to come by to provide an estimate, their quote was super reasonable, and their work was top notch. Six years later, and it still looks great. I was up on the roof looking it at last week, and noticed that the stucco up against my neighbor's house had a crack in it. I called Master Roofing to have them come by for an estimate to fix it, and they just came by and patched it quickly, even though it wasn't a 'roof' issue. Great customer service, I will be sure to use Master Roofing whenever I need any roof work. I highly recommend them. read more

We interviewed three roofers for a modified bitumen re-roof job in the Sunset District and chose Stephen. His technical knowledge is superior, his reviews are outstanding, he uses top-notch materials, and his pricing is competitive. His team was professional, skilled, and finished the job in one day. Stephen has been in this business for many years and his team is handpicked from among the best roofers in San Francisco. When the job was finished, it was easy to see why Stephen's work stands out among the others. Each seam was bled to ensure proper bonding. He covered both the up-slope and down-slope vertical walls of our neighbor's houses, providing additional overlap to tie-in the adjoining roofs. He replaced three rusted skylights with hand-made stainless steel ones. He replaced an old Plexiglas light well cover with a new one, using pressure treated lumber, at no additional cost. Picking a good roofer is one of the most important decisions a homeowner can make. We made the right decision in hiring Stephen and highly recommend him and his team for your roofing needs as well. Thanks Stephen! read more

A new roof was needed on our condo earlier this year and we received a few quotes including one from Master Roofing. We choose Master Roofing not only based on price but also based on the Stephen Lee's responsiveness to all of our questions, his timeliness in returning phone calls and meeting appointments, and his explanations of what work would be done and why. This professionalism continued throughout the entire job. His crew was efficient, friendly, polite and they definitely knew what they were doing. They started on time every day and before they left, they made sure everything was neat and clean. The job started on the day which was agreed and finished as planned. As might be expected in a 100+ year old house, there was some rot found in one area underneath the old roof. Stephen explained to us what needed to be done, and his crew accomplished this as well (including repainting siding which they replaced!). At the end of the job, the extra cost which we were charged for this additional work was very reasonable. We've had a few rain events since the roof went on, and we are extremely happy with how it's performing. There was one minor glitch we noticed which was not a leak but water accumulating in the "Dutch" gutter. Stephen sent his crew back to fix this within a few weeks, and the work was done without charge. I highly recommend Stephen Lee and his crew with Master Roofing. read more

I was very much satisfied and pleased with the services they did to my roof. However, I still don't have the vision of their finish product to my roof because I'm still awaiting for the pictures they have taken. I must say they have a busy schedule but they took the time to live up to their promises on when they can start and finish the job. I'm hoping to see the pictures and I hope they find time to send it to me. read more

I live in old Victorian house which is over 110 y.o. and has a pitch roof. The roof is complicated, has a light well, lower roof and I also wanted to install a roof window. I called Master roofing company based on reviews and after meeting with Stephen and receiving his estimate for a new roof, I chose his proposal. He is punctual, intelligent, knows all specifics, easy to talk to. He understood right away how I want to frame the light well and redo the Dutch gutters. His crew is knowledgeable and can do carpentry as well as roofing. I watched the workers and being an engineer myself, I was impressed with their craftsmanship. Stephen used quality material and stayed on the job. I am perfectionist and I know when I see a good job. Stephen, your crew did the excellent work and I am giving you an "A". Thank you again, Irina. read more

Stephen is the best, he gives honest and reasonable quote. He recommends what is best for your roofing issues! Excellent job as well!

We needed a new flat roof on our home due to a current leak. We received a couple estimates. Stephen was the only one that said we should poke a hole in the roof to stop the leak from spreading! I wish we would have called him from the beginning. His estimate can't be beat! Best price around! He and his crew are fast efficient and reliable! We are very satisfied with Stephen and Master roofing! read more

Best roofing company that I've ever worked with. Stephen and his crew are fantastic. They are courteous, on-time, efficient and most important, extremely diligent. We've had numerous roofs installed over the years, and I would recommend them above all others. read more

I have known Stephen Lee for over 15 years, I am a contractor in San Francisco for over 25 years. When it comes to roofers, I am very particular. They must be around long enough to make their warranties stand up, this is very important. What good is a warranty is the company you employ is gone? Stephen has put hundreds of roofs on for me throughout the years, and he stands by his work. He is very personable and conscientious. He wants to make everything right, and he and his crew work with each client to assure everything is right. Of all the trades, and I work with all of them, the roof is the MOST important, and there is no one I could more highly recommend then Master Roofing Systems, Inc. Their pricing is extremely competitive, and they are here today and tomorrow for you. I thought my roof would be 25,000 and Stephen did it in 3 days for 10,000. There was major dry rot involved, and I helped his crew resolve this. His company is way above the rest. I can say this, because I have been in the construction business 25 years. Feel free to call me, PRM, Inc. 415-726-3063. Or just call him, 407-4450. read more

Best roofer in the entire Bay Area - by far! We did extensive research for our roof replacement because our house has some special custom features and requires care and attention. We could not be more pleased with Stephen Lee and his crew. They gave us a good price and they did a fantastic job. All our questions were answered and the special touches, like using copper in some places, were handled perfectly. Even an unusual windstorm during the night, which was worrying, and a little rain did not cause a problem. One thing I really appreciated was the attention to detail and especially all the good clean up. Lee himself picks up debris as he walks around. He was recommended by a friend who is also a contractor and another friend, a former roofer, saw the work when it was done and praised it. Lee deserves all these spectacular reviews. If you want very high quality work, dependable and agreeable service, do hire Stephen Lee. read more
