After my initial call, I knew I had made the right choice. The agent who answered my call was very helpful, friendly, understanding, and professional. I scheduled an appointment, and after one treatment, all bug problems were gone. Fast forward to a week ago. I saw a single water bug run across my front lawn while watering. Fearing these pests had returned and taken over the bottom of my home, I called this company again. The agent I spoke with was very friendly and professional, just like the first time I called four years ago. I arranged an inspection at a time that fit my schedule, which I really appreciated, unlike other companies that just tell you when they're available. On the day of my appointment, Joe came out and did a full inspection. Joe told me he found moisture in two areas under my home (I will contact a plumber soon), but the good news is that he didn't see any live water bugs--only a few dead ones. Joe was very friendly and polite, taking time to explain several options his company offers to prevent bugs from coming back. I will be using this company in the upcoming weeks for prevention. Joe also said there would be no charge for his visit--thank you! From start to finish, the customer service from this company on two separate occasions has been outstanding, and I truly appreciate it. After contacting multiple pest control vendors in order to take care of the pest infestations, I found Pasadena Pest Control to be the most transparent in pricing, as well as one of the most detailed on what exactly each type of service would consist of. Looking at their website, I had a feeling this company would probably provide excellent services, as it is well laid out and full of information. It includes general information on pests and of course the services they provide to combat them. I opted for their insect service, as well as their rodent service. Karrie did and has been doing a great job communicating with me and scheduling my services. Erik who's been the one conducting the pest control service itself, has been great and has been doing an awesome job. For the rodent service(s), he pointed to and showed me vulnerable spots around my home (including going on the roof) that could lead to a rodent intrusion. After his inspection, he provided a comprehensive and detailed report on what would need to be done to eliminate the infestation. As for the insect service, he also didn't mind answering many of my questions on what I can do myself to help prevent or at least mitigate future infestations. After a few weeks, I've noticed much less rat droppings. One spot that had the biggest rat feces has none after his service. I also haven't seen a brown widow since he sprayed the exterior of my home. And finally, every crawling insect I've seen inside my home since the spraying has been found dead, which means the spray is working. During the process, I came in contact with about a half dozen team members, all of whom were friendly, professional, and personally concerned with our wellbeing. That was important because I found that ridding a home of rodents is not easily achieved. The initial step was to survey the house, seal potential entry sites, then set the traps. The HS team completed the process and set up an appointment to check the traps. after a couple visits, we still heard the vermin scratching around. So, HS brought in a senior inspector who found a few open areas I never would have thought to identify (openings between the outside wall and the foundation that were tucked up underneath the visible area). Those areas were sealed and within ten days, we no longer heard anything. I check of the traps today revealed a large intruder had been eliminated. Home shield performed like partners in our quest to eliminated rodents from our home. They came back as often as needed without complaint and escalated appropriately to assure our problem was solved. And importantly, they never once questioned our reports of hearing critters.

It's been 5 years and we've had plenty of people up in our attic since Rodent Masters completed our job and any time someone goes up there, I beg them to check and double check to ensure there are no rodent droppings. During this time, we have not heard a peep in the attic which is a complete 180 from what we were hearing before - it always sounded like the rats were having a party up there in the middle of the night. The process took about a month from start to finnish because the first thing they do is cover and patch all holes or entrances up so that nothing can get in (or out) and not just outside of the house but inside the attic and inside every single area from within the house. It's a LOT of work but they did it very well. Then, they came back and, in our case, because things were so bad, they sucked out all of the insulation and then reinsulated the entire attic with much higher quality material than what had been removed. Then they came back on final time to ensure there was no activity. So, I have no reason not to continue recommending Rodent Masters and I have for the last 5 years. I do think I will contact them soon though just to have someone do a walk around to ensure there are no new holes that have developed since they were last here. Highly recommend and I'm glad to see that the reviews continue to be outstanding since the one I gave 5 years ago!

I have five security cameras recording the activity, including rats repeatedly on the ground in my private patio where my small dog walks and sniffs. I explained the situation to Max in detail, including how distressed I was, and told him I was prepared to pay for an exterminator's help myself. At their request, I obtained my landlord's permission for them to perform the work. The day before the appointment, I went even further: I sent Max a five-page presentation with photographs and a diagram of my property, identifying suspected burrows, storage areas with rat activity/droppings, openings I wanted sealed, the water-heater closet, planters/root systems and other possible nesting and entry locations. I also explained that I have a small dog and wanted safe, enclosed trapping options. I specifically asked whether they could perform the work the same day if possible. The technician arrived on time, but the inspection I expected simply did not happen. He focused on whether rats might be inside my apartment even though I had reported an outdoor problem. When I asked whether he had seen my presentation, he told me it was "at the office." He did not open and inspect the storage cupboards where I had reported rat activity and droppings. He did not investigate the suspected burrows. He did not seal any openings. He looked directly at an opening into one of my storage areas and did nothing about it. Most incredibly, while standing on my patio he explained that rats like protected areas around water heaters, yet he never even opened the doors to inspect the two water heaters I had specifically identified in my presentation. After all of this, the primary recommendation I received was to buy mountain lion or fox urine and spray it myself. After I complained, Max initially told me in writing that he was "very confused" because he had forwarded my list to the technician and explained the situation to him. He later said they were trying to "save me money" and the technician did not want to take my money "by just setting traps." That explanation makes no sense. This was supposed to be a free estimate. I never told anyone I was on a budget. I had specifically asked whether they could do the work that same day and was prepared to pay. Nobody even gave me an estimate or presented treatment options and allowed me to decide what I wanted to spend. Max also brought up my doggie door afterward. I did not tell Max about a doggie door the day before. I mentioned it casually to the technician while we were already standing on my patio. I never reported rats inside my apartment. He insisted on coming in and looking under my sink and told me I had no evidence of rat existence. My complaint is simple: I hired a rodent professional to investigate documented rat activity, identify nesting/entry areas, recommend appropriate trapping and exclusion, and give me an estimate. Instead, the specific areas I identified were not meaningfully investigated, no holes were sealed, I received no estimate, and I was essentially told to buy predator urine. Had Max simply told me after receiving my five-page presentation that this wasn't the type of work they were going to perform, I would have thanked him and continued looking for another company. Instead, I stopped searching because I believed help was coming the next morning. That lost time matters when you are already dealing with an ongoing problem. I also let Max know how traumatized I was by these rats and how I wasn't sleeping at night. He seemed so empathetic and told me not to worry.
