Platinum Dry - New Van

Platinum Dry

(18 reviews)

We have been so happy with the service we have gotten from Platinum Dry…read more We had a plumbing leak and called out a plumber to fix it. He suggested that we hire a restoration company to dry out the areas that had gotten wet. We interviewed three different companies and liked two of them. We decided on Platinum Dry after talking to David and Francisco. They made us feel confident that they would take care of our issue. After hiring them, they started the next day with fans and a dehumidifier to start the process of drying out the drywall. Our insurance company came out for the inspection, but they have been extremely slow. Francisco from Platinum Dry was our point person and he was there early to meet with the insurance inspector and show him their findings. Francisco called and came by often to check the moisture readings and to see how things were going. He has been very personable and very nice and considerate. He came to the house multiple times to make sure everything was drying OK. After a few days we gave them permission to take down the drywall and start drying the studs. Both David and Francisco came by the house to check to see how things were going. After a few days, Francisco came to measure the moisture of the studs. They are now dry, so he removed the fans and dehumidifier. Now we just have to wait for the insurance company to let us know what they will and will not pay for. After that, Platinum Dry will continue putting our room back together. One of the reasons that we hired them was because they were a one stop shop. They take care of everything from start to finish.

David was the most professional and reliant person when I experienced water damage unexpectedly…read more His staff came out after 8pm to dry out the wet areas. David communicated with me throughout the process with my insurance. Although it was a three month process from the delay of my insurance company, David kept my stress level down. He worked within my price range, his staff was professional, and did outstanding work. This is the #1 company recommended for restoration and repair!

If I were to break down everything that was originally discussed, what I was given the option to select, and what has actually been done, I have a hard time understanding why I wasn't simply allowed to make the choices that I originally wanted. From the beginning, I was given options regarding the flooring, cabinets, and countertops. When I asked whether the living room, hallway, and back room could have the same flooring, I was initially told that it would be fine. I was also given options for the kitchen cabinets and countertops. I selected the Maple Oakwood cabinets, and the picture I was shown had black marble-style countertops. To be clear, they were black--not dark gray, charcoal gray, or midnight gray. They looked similar to the countertops currently in the kitchen, but they were specifically black. As the project progressed, the living room was left with the existing vinyl flooring, just different styles, while the hallway, back room, and third room were completed with the same flooring. Yet different from The living room. The back room originally had carpet, but instead of installing carpet, the flooring was changed to match the hallway and other room. I am actually very happy with how that flooring looks, and I have no issue with it. What I do not understand is why, after allowing the flooring to be changed in those areas, I was then told that the living room could not have the same flooring because they had to follow what my policy approved and could not create a mismatch. From my perspective, there is already a mismatch because the living room was left with vinyl while the surrounding areas were given The same flooring. If the decision was going to be based strictly on what the policy approved, then I don't understand why I was originally given options and allowed to make selections regarding these materials. I simply wanted the same flooring extended into the living room so the home would have a consistent appearance. This entire process has been extremely frustrating. I have tried to be patient and cooperative throughout the project, even when after I had came home to check the improvement in my home and come to find out that somebody was rubbishing through my room and my personal belongings. After everybody was well informed not to go into the back room to the right on top of them, not only covering my living room camera, but turned off all my camera system and unplugging them. But the way everything has been handled has left me highly disappointed. At this point, this has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered.
