They were recommended by the plumber. They grabbed the insurance info and sent my insurance company a bill for $8K+ for water leak mitigation work *that* *was* *never* *done*. The insurance company cut me a check for $1K+ for the 3' of cabinet replacement. Then they sent DCR a check for $5K for water damage mitigation work. It took a lot of prompting to the crew back to complete their tear-out work ( took out the cabinet below the sink to expose the sub-flooring to see if there was water damage. luckily there was not ). Then another crew came out to look at doing the cabinet rebuild. They sent a bid to replace *all* the kitchen cabinets for $35K+ then was bugging me to follow up with my insurance company !! Seriously, WTAF. It was 3' of damage. The insurance assessor was on point with the scope. It's a relatively new cabinet installation ( 5 years ). There's no way to justify a complete kitchen cabinet rebuild. Communication is crap. Follow-through is like pulling teeth. They got their $5K from the insurance company for about $ 1.5K work and jetted. Profit! IDK, they got good reviews from other folks. For me, the scope of the damage was small and I feel they scammed my insurance company. Avoid!

He suggested that we hire a restoration company to dry out the areas that had gotten wet. We interviewed three different companies and liked two of them. We decided on Platinum Dry after talking to David and Francisco. They made us feel confident that they would take care of our issue. After hiring them, they started the next day with fans and a dehumidifier to start the process of drying out the drywall. Our insurance company came out for the inspection, but they have been extremely slow. Francisco from Platinum Dry was our point person and he was there early to meet with the insurance inspector and show him their findings. Francisco called and came by often to check the moisture readings and to see how things were going. He has been very personable and very nice and considerate. He came to the house multiple times to make sure everything was drying OK. After a few days we gave them permission to take down the drywall and start drying the studs. Both David and Francisco came by the house to check to see how things were going. After a few days, Francisco came to measure the moisture of the studs. They are now dry, so he removed the fans and dehumidifier. Now we just have to wait for the insurance company to let us know what they will and will not pay for. After that, Platinum Dry will continue putting our room back together. One of the reasons that we hired them was because they were a one stop shop. They take care of everything from start to finish.

At 12:30am a call was made to AHW, thinking just leave a msg for the next day (Saturday), but was shocked when Mike answered the phone. He and his team were there at 8am to put boards on windows etc. AHW was then hired to do the gutting of the home. All household items, refrigerator, furniture, personal belongings, everything! I'll talk first about their work ethic, they all were extremely professional, honest, dedicated, energetic, and knew what needed to be done. Once the home was emptied out, they went to work on ripping everything down, walls, ceilings, cabinets, flooring etc. Right down to the studs. Everyday they left, everything was cleaned up on the outside, sweeping, hosing down etc. Now the human side to these amazing gentlemen. Again, this was a horrific incident. ALL the staff at AHW were compassionate, empathetic and extremely kind to the family. While cleaning out personal items, they'd put items aside that weren't damaged by fire/smoke/water, that were sentimental to the family. Example, photos, wall painting, Dads Notre Dame and Angels memorabilia, Great Grandma's grandfather clock etc. I believe other companies wouldn't have had the degree of compassion they had, and would have tossed these items. Most just want to come in, get the job done and leave. NOT AHW, they came with their hearts open and empathy shining through. I highly recommend AHW for all the reasons stated above: Professional, Honest, Dedicated, Ethical, Hard Working, Very responsive, Respectful; there's so many positive adjectives I can use for them and it still wouldn't be enough. He returned again the next day with his partner Albert to finish anything that was left and to treat the areas to prevent any future mold growth. They brought additional drying equipment and made sure to double check that all areas were thoroughly tested and checked and that nothing was missed. They kept me updated on the entire process and everything they did, including sending me all photos. When the drying process was complete, they did a thorough inspection to ensure everything was fully dry and made sure they tested everything not only visually but with moisture readers and radars as well. Unfortunately, due to additional negligence by our contractor, we had another major water leak that caused even more extensive damage. Albert and Anthony rushed over to once again to take care of the entire process and left me feeling reassured that everything would turn out okay. We had to use them one final time after yet another careless negligent act by our contractor and Anthony came out right away to address the situation and take care of the damage. We had our floors perfectly replaced only 2 years before this unfortunate slab leak and if I could go back in time and get an actual, professional contractor I would instead of going through the plumbers I would have.
