From the initial meeting with owner Carlos in September 2025 to get a bid for a new roof and solar panels, my husband and I were impressed. We first contacted Great Basin Roofing because of the great reviews and the fact they do both roofs and solar panels - we liked the idea of one company overseeing it all for continuity. After getting several bids we chose to use Great Basin Roofing, and we are very happy with that choice. Carlos is professional, knowledgeable, personable, and patient with questions. We also got to know office manager Victoria very well as there have been many phone calls and emails back and forth regarding the basics of the projects and ongoing challenges getting approval for the panels from NV Energy. Victoria has been outstanding in her almost-daily efforts to get updates from NV Energy and keep us informed and even made a special trip to our home to make it simpler for us to sign documents. Our roof was installed at the beginning of November by a crew led by Victor, who also provided great customer service. The crew got to work right away the first day tearing off our old roof and continued working two more days to finish installing our new roof. They worked full days, cleaning up at the end of each day, including through the wind and light rain to get the project completed on time. If you need a new roof, Great Basin Roofing and Solar should be on your short list of companies to call. We are still waiting impatiently for approval from NV Energy to have our panels installed (that's a story for another time); I'll update the review after the panel portion of the job is complete.

It rained about a week or so later and we realized one of the leaks was not fixed, and my child's room had a ton of water coming in. We again had communication issues. When two men did come out, they were able to put something up to fix the issue and the company told us we do not need to pay the remaining $500. All in all, I will not be working with this company again due to their lack of communication. The discount they gave us due to the problems is appreciated, & when the guys were here they were all very kind which is why I am updating with 3 stars.

They got me a quote super fast and put me on the schedule right away. The room originally had a dirt floor covered in old wood and bricks. Their crew came in, cleared it all out, leveled and compacted the dirt, laid the gravel, and poured a perfect slab. They knocked the whole project out two days and, most importantly, showed up on time when they said they would. For as long as I live in Carson, these are my concrete guys, every time.

The crewed showed up promptly on time daily and were very pleasant to work with. Through no fault of the landscape company there was a bad batch of sod from the supplier. I reached out to Dan the owner a few days later to let him know some of the sod was damaged. He showed up at my house within the hour to inspect what had happened. By the afternoon same day all damaged sod was removed and replaced. My lawn is beautiful now. I am very impressed with the quick response and resolution to an unexpected problem. Did the usual checked yelp and put together a list of 10 companies and asked facebook as well. Century Landscapes name came up so we added them to the list. Called 7/10 to come out and do bids, most were too busy but 3 managed to show up to walk our backyard and chat with some options. First company listened to what we wanted but had zero input more of an order taker versus a design, we opted to tell them to give us a bid and they never followed up despite emails and calls. 2nd company seemed nice but flat out told us work couldn't start till October (we were getting bids before memorial day), so they were out. Century was the 3rd company to come out and we had William listen to what we wanted for about 20 minutes and then add design ideas we didn't even think about. Told him our budget and timeline and he let us know what we could do with both. Final budget was on point not a dollar over the quote. The job itself was about our kids safety we had an old splintered deck, a pond that leaked, a grass border holding back some shale rock (very sharp not kid friendly stuff), and sorry looking grass. The team at century was able to do all the demo in one weekend, and start the prep work for 1500 sq/ft of pavers to replace everything aforementioned, and as an add on William and the design team constructed a great flag stone patio where the sorry looking grass was. Work went fast and when I had a concern all employees on site took the time to talk with me and fix the issue without any of the usual grumbling or difficulty some contract work entails. To summarize spend the time to talk with this company, and you wont be disappointed. Pricing they were right in line with the competition. Quality of work was outstanding. Communication was great (text/email/call they always responded). Thanks for getting our backyard a place we can enjoy with the kids again! P.S. The Sierra Outdoor Services found and repaired the broken valve then re-covered the hole with beautiful pavers that matched our back yard walkway's perfectly! They responded quickly and efficiently when other contractors were telling us it would be weeks before they could respond to fix the problem.
