Requested bids and designs to remove all the grass in the backyard, install sitting walls around trees with flag stone steps and zero scape setting. The rabbits and voles wreaked havoc in our backyard. We've had to replace our lawn twice. Jeff with Rock Solid Landscaping responded. We agreed to meet and walk the yard. We wanted 3 mounds with larger rocks around with native plants. The crew started everyday at 7am and worked until 4pm. They were always on time and worked a full day. This job was completed in 2 weeks. They delivered a porta potty, bobcat in front of our home. They put cones for safety. They are very organized, when dirt, rocks were delivered they moved to backyard. Then they swept the street and/or driveway to keep clean. Our neighbors complemented on the nice job of keeping street clean. Juan Carlos and his 2 workers were very well organized. They always cleaned up at the end of the day. I asked for a few Day Lillie's be transplanted back into the area. They installed a new drip system with an extension for me to plant my small veggie garden. They dug trenches for the irrigation but left hundreds of large rocks in the dirt and then laid sod right on top of that. They told me, "Don't worry, soon the grass will grow right over the rocks - no big deal. Give it a year or two. That was 3 years ago, and my yard is disgusting. I can't mow it as the wheels of the lawnmower drop down into the depressions where there are large rocks all around them. As you walk in the grass, there are pits and rocks that you can feel under your feet. Half of the sod has now died, even tho I spent hundreds every month over the summers on water and fertilizer. It makes me sick to even go into my backyard. I have asked the owner to come look at my yard and talk to me, and no replies - ever. He knows he did a cheap crappy job and now he just wants to hide from me. Stay away from this 'company'.

As with all our home projects, we gathered several quotes and Juan really sold us from the get go! I had a very simple drawing that involved a fire-pit, a section of artificial turf, and some xeriscaping sketched out and Juan came more prepared than I expected. Not only did he paint out the lines on the dirt so I could actually visualize how each space would look like, but he had a catalog of pavers for me, and later provided us with samples of different turfs as well. His quote came somewhere in the middle compared to our other quotes, but the quality work they did was worth paying a bit more for. He also was mindful of our budget and offered suggestions to cut costs. He also provided suggestions that we didn't consider and which really elevated the overall project. We found him very knowledgeable and throughout the entire project, he overall maintained good communication. There were some minor aesthetic issues when we did our walk through and he was quick to fix them. Him and his team always tidied up the backyard at the end of the day! 10/10 recommend!
