I absolutely love this addition to my neighborhood. I've spent a few weekday mornings there eating, drinking coffee, enjoying the free wi-fi, and people-watching. I love their bagels and the breakfast sandwiches. The Cowboy Killer is so insanely delicious. It's messy, so if you're self-conscious about making a mess while eating, get it to go and be messy in private. In the evenings, I like to sit at the bar to eat and drink and watch people come and go. The bartenders make solidly tasty drinks and are usually playing good music. Excellent and affordable pizza with pleasant staff and good service. Decent beer selection, but small and no taps. They're fast, but cash only. Tuesdays are the best day to take a friend or date- 2 pizzas for $20 and some $2 drink specials. It's an awesome choice and they're located directly across the street from the north Kedzie exit of the blue line. They also have a great à la carte brunch menu that is much different than what you'll find at Lula or Longman & Eagle, but much more affordable, simple, and without the long lines. Great little casual spot! My husband and I went for lunch and shared the hummus and bagel chips as well as the Fancy Nancy pizza. It ended up being way too much food; We definitely could have only shared the pizza, and it would've been plenty. The hummus was great- very refreshing appetizer on a warm day. Great service, mediocre pizza. The service is warm and attentive from the host stand to the table. Jazz was playing, and the lighting/noise level is pretty comfortable. The problem is that the pizza is just straight up not good. I had the Combo (Sausage, mushroom, onion) and Jorge (Egg, prosciutto, bechamel). The flavor combinations work well together and the toppings are good quality, but the dough is a huge letdown. Either they don't use the right flour, don't put enough water in the dough, don't let the dough ferment long enough, or all of the above. The dough doesn't rise, lacks flavor, and becomes too chewy really fast. There are way too many good pizza places to come here just for the good vibes. The fresh pasta had a quality that just has to be tasted to appreciate. I wandered in, wanting to grab a quick bite inbetween errands. I heard they did $5 pasta bowls on Wednesdays... but I didn't know they also had $5 wine (had the malbec, loved it). The pasta bowl for the day had carrots, potato, garlic, onion and kale. Aside from the kale part - the balance of the dish was excellent. The pasta really shines through. My server Daniel was kind, warm and very helpful, but they could have probably used another server on the floor when the dinner rush hit. I've been meaning to check out the Tuesday night specials here for a while. 2 pizzas for $20 and $2 PBR tall boys. I finally got around to stopping in with a couple friends this week. We waited about 20min for a table, which was fine. Ordered the Lambeau and the Hang 10. Both were pretty good, nice chewy crust and toppings were good. The pizza doesn't quite rival Dante's or Boiler Room, but at 2/$20 I am pretty happy with the pies. If you're hanging out in Logan Square on a Tuesday night, definitely come here. Any other night, I don't know if I can recommend it. On a side note: my girlfriend mentioned that she stops in here regularly on her morning commute because they have great yogurt parfaits, but the service can be slow sometimes. read more

Not an incredible fan of the dinner menu but would go back for breakfast/brunch in a heart beat. I had the basic egg sandwich on their fantastic wood-fired bagels for breakfast and for a separate occasion for brunch I got the PINE which is delicious and divine. The Pine is Chicken Thigh / White Cheddar / Dill Pickles / Hot Honey / Trinity Bun and its heaven...the hot honey and dill pickles make this sandwich! Wow. At worst, the food I got here was a total joke. At best, extremely underwhelming. I got the nando breakfast sandwich on their 'housemade english muffin' instead of a bagel. I have to say. I was pleasantly surprised with my visit at Reno. I was joining my boyfriend for a work date and the space and music were a perfect setting to focus and munch. Then I looked at the menu. I'm Gluten-free, so I never expect to be able to eat everything on the menu but as I perused I couldn't believe that there were only two items I could enjoy. And one of them I had before and I had really hoped to order something else. I walked up to the waitress and shared my concern, I asked her if she could, "help me enjoy what you have to offer." She didn't even hesitate and immediately noted that any sandwich could be offered as a salad and my options immediately brightened. She suggested The Howard Salad. It was unbelievable!!!!! So many lustrous flavors exploded in my mouth at once - Roasted Duck, Mizuna, Fig gastrique on a Spinach and Arugula salad with Citrusy oil and salt dressing. The waitress also kindly put a note on my order stating I was Gluten-free, just in case. I will definitely be returning more often. I was hoping to like Reno more, but my brunch experience fell a bit flat for me. Here are the ups and downs of my first (I'll give it another try) visit: + Love the reclaimed industrial decor and the openness of the space! - The mimosas are WAY too expensive for the size and the generic recipe. + I wish I liked Blood Mary's, because my friends were quite pleased with their drinks. They even came with a beer chaser, all for just one dollar more than my disappointing mimosa! - I wasn't overly impressed with my sandwich. The Dip was basically spinach and artichoke dip on a bun- a concept which sounded more delicious than it tasted. Had it been tastier, though, it would have been a pretty good value for the price. - The server seemed to have developed selective blindness when it came to our table. It got to be pretty ridiculous and we had to resort to rather undignified ways of getting his attention. + There was a pastry on the menu that looked like absolute heaven, but they had apparently just run out ( - ). My determination to try this pastry is probably the main reason that I plan to patronize Reno again! read more

We put the order in and of course the appetizer came in the same time as our entrees. As a huge fan of Pizza made in a Wood fired oven, it is extremely frustrating that one cannot have their delicious pizza until after 4:30, especially for a Sat or Sunday brunch! I think they should offer it for brunch. So 5:30pm Sunday ordered a bottle of $34 Portuguese Red wine, Frisee salad and the Reno Pizza which is just red sauce, mozzarella and Basil leaf. Salad was good, kind of heavy on the dressing on some leaves and you can feel the "crunchy" sea salt on the lettuce greens. Attention: The sauce they use for the pizza has pureed roasted red pepper in it. So, it is a roasted red pepper tomato sauce on your pizza. This can be very strong for people like me, who, are ALLERGIC to Red Bell Pepper!!! I have never had to say to any server, "please no roasted red bell pepper puree in my tomato sauce on the pizza". It was not even listed on the menu and I had never come across this before. The pizza looked sooo good, but I could not enjoy any of it. Very disappointing, because the dough and crust looked so good!! I wished they had put that on the menu. I would have been forewarned to order a sauceless pizza instead. The manager came over to apologize and comped our food (total $14), which we did not expect because my husband ate most of the pizza. They were great. Great service! Great food! Great price! If I had to choose between good food with bad service, or bad food with good service, I'd opt for the good food. So, Reno has that going for them. My wife and I hopped off the L in Logan Square to grab some brunch Sunday morning. Lula Cafe is just up the street and is fantastic for breakfast, but we like to try new places. Reno is very convenient to the Blue line L stop. The place is very hipster cool inside, exposed brick, reclaimed wood, it seems like a laid back place to hang out while sipping fancy in-house ground and roasted coffee. Which is part of the problem, people just kind of stayed. We were told the wait was 25 minutes, but the girl then confessed she really had no idea, people just kind of set up shop with their laptops and hang out drinking coffee long after their meal is done. We ended up waiting more like 45-50 minutes. They did have a nice pastry section and bar where those waiting could buy bagels, muffins, coffee and bloody marys or beer. Our waitress was a nice enough, and maybe was new to being a server, but was just not a great waitress. To be fair, it was busy, but she seemed to disappear for long stretches, and then would come to the table and just kind of stutter and wait for us to tell her what to do. I ordered a cup of bottomless coffee, but only got 1 refill because I didn't care to wait for the 10-15 minutes it took to get a refill more than once. Our food came, my wife had the Square, a turkey sandwich on multigrain bread; and I had the Cowboy Killer a breakfast sandwich with sausage, a fried egg and some peppers. Both of us agreed the breakfast sandwiches were very good. The wood fired pizzas on the dinner menu sounded good, but were not offered during breakfast/brunch hours. They also had an apple crisp dessert that sounded tasty, but they were sold out. Since the food was good, we will probably try Reno again, maybe dinner where I can try the wood fired pizza and we can split that elusive apple crisp. The atmosphere was laid back, good for a small group or date night. The staff was also friendly from the hostess, bus boy and waitress. We shared one pizza between who people and it was just right. We ordered the Popeye (artichoke, spinach, Gouda, mozzarella, pecorino and added the chicken). For build your own or simple pizzas you can do half and half but not with the signature pizzas. It seems I have been hitting Reno for take out breakfast every weekend for the past 4 weeks. I really enjoy the bagel with the spreadable feta and the chai latte - not too sweet like Starbucks. They are not the best bagels in the world but they are good. The daily pastries are also amazing, always calling my name when I go in. I have not had lunch or pizza yet, but plan to soon. My other all time favorite is the Fancy Nancy, a traditional pizza (mozzarella, basil) along with a large helping of the most delicious burrata! OMG yum!! Two friends and I came here with empty stomachs on a weekend night when the weather was warm so we got to enjoy the outside air on Reno's patio. Reno is right across from Logan square blue line stop so it's extremely accessible for people who don't live close enough to walk. The patio is small and facing the intersection of Kedzie and Milwaukee but if you live in Chicago the sound of the cars can go by hardly noticed. We split the Cavetelli dish which was a large portion of pasta with truffle oil, gouda, cream and bagel crumbs for only $10 and the butternut pizza with butternut squash, gouda, sage brown butter and sunflower seeds for $13. Split between three people, we all had plenty of food and the bill was extremely cheap. The pasta was very rich so I wouldn't recommend getting that dish all to yourself or you might be hitting yourself later but regardless, it was delicious. The pizza was great as well. I'm a big crust critic and I'd give this crust a 7/10. The toppings were unique and I'm glad I tried it. Our waitress, I regretfully don't know her name, was A+ and very patient with our lack of decision making. She was funny and personable and always seemed to be around right when we needed her. I'm actually here as we speak as we've been working on homework on the patio for a few hours. Enjoying the last bit of warmth before having to be stuck inside for five months. We each ordered a cappuccino and it is a very work-friendly environment. I feel a lot of distraction and strange vibes in coffee shops that makes my work performance not A+ and am very pleased with the atmosphere of Reno. Our waiter, George, has been extremely friendly and accepting of us being at one of his outside tables for over three hours, only ordering a cappuccino. He's refilled our water pitcher and checks up on us to see if we need anything else.
