    Smash Burger

The Auburn sign outside caught our attention, as my favorite cousin is a fan. We decided to give it a shot for lunch, and it was quite enjoyable. We opted to eat at the bar, and the design is very neat. The bar is covered in vintage pictures taken in the area. They have a fair amount of beers to choose from. The burger I had was tasty, and the seasoned fries were awesome. I'd come back for the fries alone! They have many TV screens that were playing a wide variety of sports. This would be a great place to catch a game. The inside is quite spacious. Located right off the Brown Line, the location is great for those relying on public transportation.

Hello Avenue Tap & Kitchen! Welcome to my new favorite sports bar! A friend and I stopped here for some game-day fun and we were not disappointed! The staff is friendly and the casual vibe was perfect for Sunday brunch! We loved that for college football, the school song of the winning team is played over the loudspeakers- SO FUN! Shoutout to Tommy the bar-back! He was the best! I definitely recommend getting the seasoned fries as your side- SO YUMMY with the perfect kick! Thanks for everything, Avenue Tap & Kitchen!

So far we are loving the rebrand to Avenue. The interior is nice and bright and the food menu clearly took a step up in quality and options. The staff have been great and each menu item we've tried (french dip, nachos, flatbreads, salads) has been excellent. This will be our new go-to for sports bar style food. They offer daily specials as well as a happy hour from 4-6pm which is clutch. Tuesday night 1/2 priced flatbreads are fantastic.

Previously the Waterhouse and it got a fresh new revamp. Same layout, but the ambiance is sleek, nicer, and much more light! The finishes are really nice. I have visited the Waterhouse a ton with it being a Purdue bar and always loved the neighborhood vibe. Very fitting for Roscoe Village! I visited on a Saturday for the Purdue game and Auburn was also playing at the same time. I love that they remained a Purdue/Auburn/Commanders bar. Loved how they were able to handle two fan bases at once, which was quite impressive! Service was great! Our server was Kallie and she was great! Very attentive, filled up our water, and checked in a lot, which was great! I ordered the $10 Green Dragon for the Purdue game, the Avenue (Manhattan), and the Smash Burger with Tots. Their menu has definitely been updated, but they kept the Cheese Curds and Popcorn Chicken around, which was very nostalgic! I think they improved the Green Dragon. Definitely a lot smoother than the Waterhouse. Fair warning, it's very sugary and acidic as it's essentially a green Long Island. I look forward to trying the Baltimore Zoo next time! The Avenue was very good too. The rock was a great touch as I didn't expect that since it's really just a neighborhood bar, not known as a cocktail bar. I thought the Avenue was very balance, which makes a Manhattan good. The Smash Burger was sooooo good! Also they brought back the tots, which were so hot and so fresh! Super crispy and their tots have always been great! The Bun was soft and I think they coated it with butter like Culver's. The patty was juicy and had great flavor! No seasoning besides salt and maybe pepper which is exactly how a burger should be made. The toppings were very good too, but could use some improvement. The cheese was great and melted to perfection. The aioli was too watered down for my taste. I liked the pickle and grilled onions. But I like my pickles to be more sour and the onions didn't have much flavor. Overall a very good burger! Bun: 7. Burger: 8. Toppings: 7. Overall: 7.33 I had some of the popcorn chicken too. Great chunks of meat and very crispy. However it was pretty dry. You definitely needed the sauce it. Prices are very good for Chicago! $15 for an entree. $11-$13 for a very good cocktail. The cocktails refresh were very good and I was shockingly surprised as they didn't have that at the Waterhouse. Portions sizes are pretty decent to big too. I put the burger a spot ahead of NADC Burger because that burger is so small and it's $20. Overall, I love the new revamp of the old Waterhouse! It still has its sports bar/neighborhood charm and the renovation is very nice. Same exact bathrooms tho haha. The cocktails and the food was definitely good to very good! It's not going to be the best thing that you ever had and that's is perfectly a ok with me! Definitely check out Avenue Tap and Kitchen for a cozy neighborhood bar or if you want to watch a sports game!

It was three of us meeting for dinner and some drinks. My friend had white wine, hubby had an Espressotini, and I the watermelon-cucumber marg. We ordered the cauliflower ceviche, the Cauliflower wings, and the Brussels sprouts as appetizer. Then as an entree, my friend had the Jalisco Burger, hubby had the Salmon, and I a Salmon Caesar Salad. I personally loved the salad and the appetizers were great. Everyone else ate ALL their food, so I assume they also enjoyed it. The location was actually having an 80s night and there was a Dj and space for dancing. There were some people there dress for the themed night and it was just a great vibe. Talking with our friend and eating made us lose track of time and then it was time to leave but before we did, we met one of the owners who actually recommended I come by and visit. (Shoutout to Marcos ) He is the most warm and sunny person, and he was so grateful we actually came by. We had a shot and honestly I'd come back because of him. He told us a little bit about him, his family and about the restaurant backstory. I truly recommend you coming here, you will have a great time. Oh, and almost forgot, they have outside sitting, so you know it will be a great time when you just want to have an outside patio vibe with friends and some drinks. P.s. As you can tell, there are only two pictures. I was so, involved in the moment with my friend's stories and then the appetizers came and nothing else mattered. We all lost track of time and just enjoyed the vibe, the beautiful night, and time with friends, drinks, and food. Oh and 80s music.

Good Delivery Food, But In-Person Service Needs Major Attention…read more I chose PrimeTime Bar for a friend's birthday celebration last night, fully expecting a great experience because I've always been so impressed with their delivery. The kitchen here usually delivers, but the in-person visit was unfortunately dragged down by highly non-attentive service. The bar was pretty quiet and not many people were there at the time. There's open seating, so we quickly sat ourselves. After no initial greeting from the server, we ordered a few drinks from the bartender. We sat for a staggering 45 minutes without a server checking in, offering drinks, or even bringing basic water to the table. I eventually had to get up to request water. When we did finally order, we ordered a few burgers and wings. The burgers were good as expected. The wings had a somewhat strange, possibly pre-breaded texture and were very large, although the flavor was okay. Not to mention the wings were dropped off without plates, so our party of 4 ate on napkins. To top it all off, we had to flag down our server just to pay the bill. It was incredibly disappointing service, especially when the Smashburger is above average. I won't be recommending the in-person experience to anyone anytime soon.
