Great little casual spot! My husband and I went for lunch and shared the hummus and bagel chips as well as the Fancy Nancy pizza. It ended up being way too much food; We definitely could have only shared the pizza, and it would've been plenty. The hummus was great- very refreshing appetizer on a warm day. Great service, mediocre pizza. The service is warm and attentive from the host stand to the table. Jazz was playing, and the lighting/noise level is pretty comfortable. The problem is that the pizza is just straight up not good. I had the Combo (Sausage, mushroom, onion) and Jorge (Egg, prosciutto, bechamel). The flavor combinations work well together and the toppings are good quality, but the dough is a huge letdown. Either they don't use the right flour, don't put enough water in the dough, don't let the dough ferment long enough, or all of the above. The dough doesn't rise, lacks flavor, and becomes too chewy really fast. There are way too many good pizza places to come here just for the good vibes. Had the Jorge brunch pizza - Prosciutto, egg, caramelized onions, rosemary, white sauce and mozzarella! Perfect way too start the day! The crust is what really convinced me on quality of their food. I find being a cash only establishment to be pretty obnoxious. I think that the least you can do when you ar e cash only is to include the tax in your prices so that everything comes out as an even number. While it was a hot summer afternoon, I decided to go for the vodka lemonade. It was as if the vodka wasn't adaquetly chilled when it arrived at my table because my first few sips were rather warm. I had to stir for quite a while to get the ice to cool things down and it wasn't a supurb drink to begin with. The chicken sandwich which I saw on a website that eneded up drawing me towards having a lunch there was a little on the bland side and though I had hopes for the combination of honey chicken thigh, cheese and pickles, it came out of the kitchen with speed that suggests that it was being held warm, which made the sandwich a little on the dry side. Without a ton od hot sauce it was also a little on the bland side. At $9 for a chicken thigh, it is a little on the pricey side. I don't think I'll try this place again. read more

My husband, son and I went on a late Sunday morning. Living close, we were excited to try this spot, which seems to be cursed with businesses coming and going. Let's start with the positives. The staff seem really nice. The food came out quick. We enjoyed the food. My husband got the Cowboy Killer. He thought it tasted good but it had what I jokingly refer to as Chris Farley's "Fat Guy in a Little Coat" syndrome. It's a whole lotta sandwich on a tiny bun. Why do that? I got a simple eggs, bacon and toast. I substituted the toast for one of their sesame bagels and cream cheese, since it seemed like a signature item. It was a tasty bagel.Not the best bagel I ever had, but I ate it all. The bacon was a good cut, thick, flavorful. Eggs done well. My son got an oatmeal. He can't talk yet, but I suspect he enjoyed it the way he gobbled it up. I also got the rum cider. It hit the spot on a cold Chicago winter morning. While I would only call one thing a blatant negative, it's a new place and ironing out wrinkles it seems. They'll get there I'm sure in no time. My one major negative is being cash only. Don't be a sit down restaurant that serves alcohol and think you can be cash-only. It's awkward. It promotes people ordering less, or begrudging you for the $3 service charge from your ATM. Sandwich shop? Sure, cash only I can get behind. Not you guys. And lastly, this is less a negative and more a pet peeve. On the way out, we perused the pastry selection. It looked fresh and delicious, so we decided to split a muffin to bring home. Guess what I was charged in this cash only establishment? $3.01. Yes, three dollars and a PENNY. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???? You own this place! You can control the pricing! The cashier just waited as I fiddled around looking for a penny, and finally I had to pull out another dollar. I took my 99 cents and put it in the tip jar. Maybe then they will understand why three OH ONE is so annoying. Also, from a marketing perspective, it's foolish. Countless studies have proven that it is not effective. I love Reno for brunch during the week. The coffee is excellent. The husband's favorite is the lox bagel sandwich! I've enjoyed muffins, bagels, a salad, and more. Everything is very tasty. The service is professional and knowledgeable. The room is furnished with heavy wood tables, banquets, and booths. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable for a lengthy meal. Ok... I literally have dreams about their jalapeño pesto pepperoni pizza (aka the Paulina). Just this afternoon I woke up from a nap believing that my husband had brought it home, and I was crushed to find out it was all in my head. So naturally we ended up there within the hour. We always get the Paulina and sometimes add a kale salad (used to be Brussels sprouts but they don't make them anymore). The kale salad is solid and I love the dressing. I kinda wish they cut the kale into smaller pieces bc it's kinda challenging to eat, but that's a nitpicky comment. I've been to Reno...Not Reno, Nevada....a few times now, and each time has been a positive experience. I really like what they did with the decor, and I'm always intrigued by the side dishes that they have to offer in a given day. The sides are rarely something I would think of ordering, but I've yet to be disappointed after ordering them. Very fresh ingredients. I stopped in to Reno this morning to pick up some breakfast bagels for my coworkers and I. I had been reading about the amazing wood-fired goodness for a few days and my throat was definitely watering! My two coworkers ordered the My Everything bagel with plain cream cheese. I splurged on the sesame bagel with cheddar cream cheese. There were real chunks of cheese in the cream cheese and the flavor was so light and delicious. Definitely not overpowering with a strong cheddar cheese. The service was quick and friendly. I really want to go back to try some of the other food during the day or even to try some of the other shmears and bagel sandwiches. Plus, there was a brownie with pistachios, bourbon, and toffee that I will starve myself for a week to try! It looked out of this world :) I'd highly recommend this place for breakfast. I've been here three times, each time hoping I'll like it more, but it's not happening. First, I'll join the chorus of complaint about the ridiculously overpriced bagels. My family had gotten back from a trip and were starving, so I ventured out to grab some bagels. Four bagels were $11. Just the bagels. And not the greatest bagels in the world. I've lived in Logan Square for eight years, yearning for a simple bagel place. Why oh why do all the new restaurants have to be so overwrought and overpriced? I've taken the kids there for pizza, which was actually quite good, and the wife and I went there when we couldn't get into Longman. But why else would you be in Logan Square if not for the fun/chill vibe :) I avoided this corner location because the lonely R letter sign didn't give me a indication of what I could expect. Here I was on the 26th, Saturday after Christmas and to my surprise they were open and busy!! This was a good sign for me to give them a try. I sat at the bar and the service was prompt and friendly. From my other yelpers I saw their version of Lox & Bagels so I showed the photo to the server where he promptly returned with my coffee and OFF-THE-HOOK Breakfast Sandwich. The ingredients were VERY FRESH & TASTEE!! The sandwich was messy so take a proactive step and ask for an extra napkin, especially if u don't like cream cheese in your beard ;) I expected their wood fired bagels to taste a little smokey but to the contrary it wasn't. I stopped in after church for a bagel. That being said, they just give you a bagel, not cut, and the cream cheese is on the side. Not acceptable. And the bagels are just medium-sized. I actually make bagels at home and they are not as big as Bruegger's but they are bigger than these. When I got home, the cream cheese served on the side was whipped, fluffy, and only enough for one-half of the bagel. The bagels need to be increased in size, cut, and the cream cheese needs to be denser and applied at the restaurant. Just had Reno for the first time tonight. We live right around the corner and we were very excited when we saw they were open for business. We decided to try the pizza and called to place an order. We were told they do not take phone orders which was the first disappointment. We still wanted to try it so my husband went there to place the order. We ordered the Reno pizza and an apple cobbler. The pizza was just okay. It lacked flavor and was burnt on the bottom. The apple cobbler had no actual "cobbler" to it. Just nuts and apples. I think I still would have enjoyed it except they put the cinnamon ice cream on top of the cobbler and in the same to go box instead of packing it separately so it was a big melted mess when my husband got home which is only a 2 minute walk away. I came to Reno with a friend after an intense workout. I was so hungry and so happy to be with my friend. Maybe these factors are influencing the number of stars I'm giving Reno. Regardless, the cavatelli + chicken was so good. My friend and I also got the butternut pizza, which was unique and flavorful and satisfying. The service was great and the food came quickly. Noise level was moderate (for a Thursday night) and lots of people were in and out for food and drinks. I hear they have Wifi and coffee in the morning. We did the Saturday breakfast menu this weekend. I had the Cowboy Killer which was amazing. The sausage was excellent, and the bagel was solid. The other breakfast sandwiches were tops. Yum. The bloody Mary was solid. They run on the hot side. They are paired with the "Wisconsin Style" small glass of beer as chaser which is always a nice touch. The crowd was fun, or funny. Lots of mom's and dad's taking the hipster kids out. There was an amazing sameness to the kids: same shirts, same pants, same shoes, same messenger bags. It seems the Mall Rats have invaded Logan Square. Mom, don't forget to bring some bagels home for the hipster kids - they need to eat something. The atmosphere was laid back, good for a small group or date night. The staff was also friendly from the hostess, bus boy and waitress. We shared one pizza between who people and it was just right. We ordered the Popeye (artichoke, spinach, Gouda, mozzarella, pecorino and added the chicken). For build your own or simple pizzas you can do half and half but not with the signature pizzas. This place is okay. The pizza's are pretty decently sized and reasonably tasty. The meatballs that we got were also pretty good. I would not recommend the grapefruit italian soda. It tasted nothing like grapefruit and was much too sweet. The service here? it's absolutely terrible. We never saw our waiter again after he took our order. I had to flag down some random worker there to get our check. Once we got our check? Nobody ever even came to take the money so that we could get change. I think that we sat there for at least 10 minutes before we finally just got sick of it and left. That's really unacceptable. The Montreal wood-fired bagels are excellent, the staff congenial, and the design is clean. Why only 3 stars? Disorganization. Here's my story: We walk in and wait in line, the gal at the counter asking if we are dining in and tells us to sit anywhere. Miscommunication: apparently we shouldn't have sat down at the large communal table, we found out after 15 minutes that it was for to go orders only. Another couple had made the same mistake and left at that point. We moved to a newly open table. The waitress is stressed and rushing. We order 2 bagels, 2 coffees and 2 waters. It takes 30 minutes from sit down until we receive bagels, but no coffee. We ask for the bill and skip the coffee. The owner apologized and threw in 2 coffees to go for free. I really want this place to work, but it will take clearer organization between the 5 staff members working the floor and communication with customers. Would counter service at breakfast and lunch be a solution? I think the menu is casual enough to warrant that. Then there wouldn't be a huge confusion between to go orders and dine in. The staff could focus on the counter, running food to tables, refilling drinks, and chatting up the customers. I really hope this was just a really busy, off-day. My girlfriend and I love this place. We live 30 seconds away and we've been anxiously awaiting their opening for months. We've gone 4 times in the last 2 weeks. Yeah, it's new and they're working out some service kinks, but I have no doubt that in a few months it'll be a well oiled beacon of bagel/Pizza making light! I'm giving them 5 stars for the food, even though I think the service is a little shaky here. They are in the neighborhood and we frequent this place weekly. Their pizza is extremely consistent. I've been looking for pizza this good (neo style hybrid) for a while now and nothing matches up to what I've had in SF, NY, or even Detroit (Supinos is Brooklyn/Neopolitan hybrid and is amazing). Anyway, Paulina, Combo, Kauliflour all top notch. The Hog is delicious, but missing something. The burrata is heavenly. Had it with the fig jam, and the currant jam. I'm disgusting when I say I could eat one to myself as a brunch item (it's so french toast like and comforting). Salads are great, Frysee and Quinoa. Both top notch. For brunch we get the bagel sandwiches (everything bagel) pretty regularly. Love the chewiness of these. If you are looking for a big airy doughnut like bagel, look elsewhere - these are their own kind. Cowboy Killer I cannot get away from, it's messy and heavy but so satisfying. Last weekend we went with a group and noticed they had Chilaquiles and a potato hash now - which both were excellent. Remember that R.E.M song, "Shiny Happy People?" That's what I was reminded of by the greetings and warm welcome we received on a first visit to Reno. I was impressed with the hospitality and attitude of the staff here.The next thing which impressed me is the menu. Such a nice variety and creativity at work. You can get a cheese bagel with avocado schmear. Try that at your standard bagel deli. There's a morning and noon menu which allows for either breakfast or lunch until the dinner menu kicks in. And what a nice combo of bagels with great shmears, breakfast sandwiches, regular sandwiches, pasta dishes, fresh salads, and wood-fire pizzas. Oh, and some very creative desserts and pastries, too. I for one, would like to try all three meal times. Prices are reasonable. $7-8.00 for sandwiches. They are a la carte, but you can order chips for $1.00. The bagels are $2.25 which is more than I'm used to paying, but this is not your basic bagel takeout joint. And their bagels are their own. I like the idea of wood-fire bagels, but I'll have to return to try one. While my friend had the lox bagel sandwich, I opted for a regular sandwich of tender, tender roast beef with red onions on their own sourdough bread. With a horseradish sauce. The sandwiches are a moderate size, so you may want to add a side, if you're really hungry. We had the lemonade and fresh grapefruit juice for drinks. Cocktails are a little pricey but available. On Tuesdays, they have a "twofer" pizza offer for $20.00. And $2.00 PBR and whiskey shots. I like the concept of good fresh casual dining and the thought of pairing a bagel with a cocktail. You cannot give it an ethnic I.D. except to say that it leans toward Italian with the pizza and pastas. If I lived in Logan Square, I'd probably become a regular. I dreamed about their Master Blaster after having it for the first time. The pork is succulent and the buttery crunchy bread with the provolone had me swooning. The sandwich is huge. I had half one day and saved the rest for the following day. My boyfriend ordered the Old Bay Bagel. If you like Old Bay, that is definitely for you. If not, stay away. It was not my cup of tea. We were seated right away and when we ordered, the food took less than 15 min to arrive. Hubs and I went for the chiliquiles (partially pictured), the Spinach and Frisee Salad and I had the Hook (Salmon, artichoke cream cheese, avocado, red onion and cucumber) on a plain bagel. You can choose between about 6 bagels. The Hook was the bomb! The cream cheese along with the other ingredients went to well together. I would suggest less salmon but overall 2 thumbs up. One of my favorite restaurants in Logan. It's nice knowing that when I come to Reno I'll be served one of the best wood fired oven pizzas around. I've dabbled between a few different dough slices but time and time again I keep returning to the Kale and Feta. Something about the classic crunch of the Kale juxtaposed with the feta is what dreams are made of. Crust and crunch is crucial with any good wood fired pizza and let me tell you, every crust piece is full with enough crunch to keep you coming back for more. Each slice has enough crust integrity to allow for proper fold to firm ratio. Fold at the tip and firm at the ends. Pure bliss. The servers are great people. Though attentive at first they can sometimes get lost trying to find you again so be sure to know what you want when you have their attention because we all know they need to be dishing out those wonderful pies left and right. Reno is great, the perfect kind of place for its location and a can't miss. Before Reno, this space was occupied by Ciao Napoli, which made delicious pizzas in the wood-fired brick oven. My husband and I were so sad to see Napoli go... ...until Reno opened! Reno uses the very same wood-fired brick oven to make delicious pizzas that are just as good, nay, better, than Ciao Napoli's. Reno also plays really cool classic records, and has updated the decor to a more artistically pleasing and tasteful assortment, in my opinion. The bagels are great. I've been there twice for breakfast and both times got bagel sandwiches. The house made chorizo they use is awesome. Definitely has some kick to it. read more
