Delicious!!! Located inside of Gino's East pizza, Gotham Bagels is a hidden gem in Printer's Row. A variety of breakfast and lunch sandwich options. I really enjoyed starting my day with the spicy sausage, egg, and cheddar bagel sandwich. I was able to choose what kind of bagel I wanted, as well as how I wanted the eggs prepared (scrambled, fried, etc...). The sandwich was wrapped beautifully and securely, and comes with a pickle on the side. The iced matcha is one of the best matcha drinks I've had in Chicago! Evelyn provided excellent and friendly service. She was very patient and went over all my choices and options. You can order in person or online. On the weekend, it's online ordering only. The interior is decorated beautifully for the holidays. Check it out!

Killer bagel shop. Fresh and rolled bagels, fresh made cream cheese, and great sandwiches. Doesn't get much better. Although this spot is carry out only (for breakfast), it had a nice vibe as well as fast service. Will return

If I could rate it lower, I would! The customer service was terrible! The coffee, matcha and bagels were terrible. Bagels were cold and bacon looked like it was a week old

Bagels were pretty good. I live in NJ and these are pretty close to what we have at home. The potato Latka on the bacon egg and cheese was good

Pretty good! It was admittedly a little pricier than I thought, it was like $23 for a lox bagel and large iced latte. Still, a good breakfast imo. For those who've been walking in circles trying to find it like me, they share a building and front desk with Gino's East (521 S Dearborn). Inside you'll order and there's a teeny tiny little seating area to the left by the windows. A little hard to navigate if you're disabled or bigger bodied. A few things: - they don't take cash. - There's a little kiosk tablet you can order from (separate from the actual ordering desk) - Make sure to ask about their specials!! - I did not see any way for people with disabilities to get inside. It's simply a stairwell up. May need to call ahead and ask someone to bring it to you outside if your mobility challenged.

Don't blink cause you might miss this gem! A group of us decided to come here for our post Hot Chocolate Run meal and it was a great decision. Gotham Bagels is located in the South Loop. Outside of variety of bagels they have bagel sandwiches, salads, potato latke, soup and desserts. They have sides such as potato chips made by Great Lakes Kettle. You can have coffee, latte, tea and soft drinks. Like I mentioned, if you blink, you can miss this place. It is a walk up location to place your order. There are seats in front of the pizza place that is just around the corner. The staff was friendly when picking up the order. We ordered ahead for a 10:15 AM pickup. It was ready about 10 minutes after the pickup time but we were in no hurry. Highly recommend ordering ahead! I have never had a Bagel from NY so I cannot compare. I got the One Egg Bagel Sandwich. I selected the Seasame Bagel. Overall, the bagel was a nice size and it was soft and chewy and I mean a good chewy. I've had bagels that were chewy but hard where you had to rip it with your teeth. The egg was scrambled, but you can pick how you want the egg cooked. The scramble was prefect and not over done. It had the right amount of salt on it. The price I paid was approx. $16 dollars for the sandwich, bag of chips and a can Pepsi. The bagel is filling and I didn't eat the chips or drink my Pepsi. If this is what a NY Bagel tastes like, I need to travel to NY to try! But in the meantime, when craving a bagel - I'll make my way to over to Gotham Bagel!

My favorite local place for a bagel. I wish I were more adventurous, but I always go for the Brighton Beach, it's a must for me. If I don't do the Brighton Beach, I just go for the typical bagel and cream cheese. For the Brighton beach, the salmon is super fresh and the toppings are always loaded, fresh, and add the perfect crunch to a bagel sandwich. What I like most about Gotham is the assortment of bagels and spreads. They have great bagel flavors, as well as a great cream cheese selection. This location specifically is super quick with the online orders, it's only a walk up, so I recommend you order ahead. I've picked these up for friends and family and although I always get the same bagel sandwich, I've heard great feedback about the OMFG bagel, spicy sausage bagel, and traditional bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. Staff is always super nice and courteous.

I would easily consider bagels to be one of my favorite foods, and going to grab an iced latte and a fun bagel flavor is one of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday morning - so when I heard that the Gotham Bagels South Loop location was open, I knew I had to check it out! Gotham Bagels has been on my list for a LONG time, and it definitely did not disappoint! We tried a couple of their specialty sandwiches along with a classic sweet bagel to round it all out! My absolute FAVORITE from the meal was the Brighton Beach - the smoked salmon was perfect, the ratio of ingredients was incredible, and the flavor of the everything bagel tied everything together! I'd highly recommend checking out the South Loop Gotham Bagels location!

Takeout window inside of a pizza shop. Convenient location nearby our hotel. We ordered pickup from here and it was ready within a few minutes of our arrival. We ordered a sausage egg and cheese bagel, turkey bacon, egg white, tomato, and vegan scallion cream cheese bagel, and a strawberry cream cheese bagel. This place is a little pricey, but honestly the bagels are huge and they pile on the toppings. Definitely a good value. The bagels had great texture and the vegan cc on my bagel was fantastic. Only 3 tables to eat inside at. I would definitely come back here.

    Gigantic and super delicious bagel!

So glad to have them back open after their maintenance closure. Bagels as great as ever!

I'll say I let someone in line influence me to get this. I had my sights set on the turkey but I went spicy sausage on an everything bagel. No sir. I'd give em another go though

I love a good breakfast shop especially a bagel that can get me through the day. We came right when they opened and it took about 20-25 minutes to receive our food. There was a water station for free water. The inside was beautiful and clean and the cashier was pretty kind to us. We got a bacon egg and cheese bagel and it was sooo good. Please see the cheese pull so you know it was hot and fresh. I would absolutely come back next time I'm in Chicago

Should say add avocado spread not avocado because I certainly wouldn't have paid 4 bucks for some pre packaged spread. Bacon also tasted/looked nothing like picture. Bagel cold. Not great

I'm extremely thankful to have a friend who introduced me to this bagel spot. Definitely a top 2…read morefavorite of mine. I haven't been to the location but have had these bagels consistently for over 10 years. The texture and flavor of the bagel is everything a NY bagel is and should be. Fluffy on the inside, somewhat crispy on the outside, and oh so thiccccccccck! Their cream cheese?! Ugh! Don't skip on it, seriously everything about this place is perfect. My go to selection is the egg bagel with chive cream cheese. It's chef's kiss and hits the spot. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME!!!!

If you're expecting this to be interchangeable with the franchised bagel places that have spread…read moreacross the country, recalibrate now. This is not that. I've been going to New York Bagel & Bialy for over 50 years, and places like this operate on a different clock, a different standard, and frankly, a different philosophy of what a bagel is supposed to be. Timing matters. If you show up after about 8:00 AM, your odds of getting bagels at their absolute peak--still warm, properly textured, with that slight resistance on the outside and softness inside--go up significantly. Earlier can be hit or miss depending on the batch cycle, but once they're in stride, this place delivers. The essentials are all here and worth your time: poppy seed, sesame, everything, and especially the bialys. The bialys alone are reason enough to make the trip--properly done, with the right chew and depth of flavor that you simply won't find in mass-produced versions. Don't overcomplicate it. Grab a dozen. On your way home, stop and pick up a couple packages of Philadelphia Cream Cheese and some smoked salmon a jar of capers, a Bermuda onion--whether here or even from Walmart--and you've got a meal that outperforms most brunch menus at a fraction of the cost. This isn't trendy. It's not trying to be. It's something better: consistent, old-world, and still doing it the right way. If you're going to call something a bagel, the standard is not branding--it's process. That's why New York Bagel & Bialy on Touhy stands apart. They actually do it right: kettle-boiled first, then baked in rotating ovens. That single decision--boiling--changes the entire structure. It gelatinizes the outer starch layer, locks in density, and produces that thin, glossy crust with real chew. Without it, you don't have a bagel--you have bread with a hole. The rotating ovens matter too. They deliver even heat, which means you get the correct balance: a slight exterior crisp with a dense, elastic interior. No puffiness. No sponge. No collapse under toppings. That's the difference here. Most chains optimize for speed and shelf life, so they steam or shortcut the process. Many local shops land in the middle. This place doesn't compromise. If you care about what a bagel is supposed to be--not just what it's called--this is the benchmark in Chicago.

I don't know what technique they do it get or keep so much topping on them, but it's a pleasure to have too much rather than not enough. They service beer here which makes it slightly unbreakfasty and their bagel sandwiches used baked eggs rather than griddled/flat topped or from a pan. Keeps them fluffy, but I prefer mine a little runnier. Service is very good, friendly, not rushed or fake hospitality. They cure their lox in house which to me feels more tender than other places, probably just a lower, longer heating or a gentler cure. Excellent schmear, a not heavy handed when scooping (respect the schream cuz). Prices are pretty good considering the care and love they put into the bagels (hand rolled, multiple proofs). They have crunch, chew, density, but air pockets. Chef/owners def put thought into the menu with flavors like zatar, dilly ranch deviled eggs. Dr. Browns sodas. Baclava cappuccinos. White fish on bagel chips, Bagel dog is such a simple combination of not just the everything bagel seasoning, but the dough as well. And the mustard pairs better than had they added schmear (sorry Seattle dogs, i'm not a fan, i only like my cream cheese in philadelphia sushi rolls, lol) . The pizza bagel needs more toppings like pepperoni, sausage becuase then it would eat like a normal size bagel bite. The challah bread on the rachel really is more well rounded than the reuben. It's something I've been recreating back home. Giard cream cheese, cmon ya'll are really hitting the nail on the head for a Chicago bagel shop. I guess that's why there are 3 locations now. The Haystack with apple butter works better than expected, but also works with a chive cream cheese sub, no ketchup needed (if you do go with the harissa ketchup from the yada yada). BEC with a side of salted tomato and harissa ketchup is amazing. If everything was 10% more like toppings wise this would be amazing, but they always seem to skimp on something whether it's the schmear, pickels, salad. I feel like i was haggling for my meal sometimes. Prices area little high for most items, but of great value for others. It's busy in the mornings, but lines move long and only once did I have to wait for a fresh batch of anything despite some large orders ahead of me. It's a 20 minute train ride, but worth it. Prime location near Wrigley.

I've…read morebeen going to Steingold's for years and continue coming back here despite all the new bagel stores popping up. Definitely recommend the Za'atar Bagel with Lox, Pickled Cucumbers and Chive Cream Cheese! Also, their Nutella Rugelach is to die for!!! Steingold's has a ton of unique flavors and the staff is extremely nice so they can definitely help out what best to go with when you get there. They have a ton of casual and clean seating inside, as well as outside space during the summer at a first come first serve basis. You can either order at the counter or through a QR code too!

The moment you walk in the doors you're greeted by the friendliest coffee shop employee I've ever met in my life. The ambiance is perfect with insanely good choice in music, no harsh lighting, and plenty of seating. The provided WiFi just tops it off. I had no idea what I wanted and staff were awesome at getting me something amazing. I'm not sure what the iced coffee I had is (I told them to pick one for me), but as someone who spends a ton of time looking for that perfect coffee this one beat them all. The bagel breakfast sandwich was extraordinary on a jalapeño cheddar bagel that was fresh and flavorful. The cheese, egg, bacon, and cream cheese all went together perfectly. I'm so sad I've missed this place in my previous Chicago trips, it'll be my new go to every time I'm in town.
