So I was heading out to lunch yesterday and my 2005 Subaru Forester left me stranded 3 blocks from my job, when I pressed the clutch to put it in gear, the clutch would not pop back up , so I walked it back to work. Picked up a well abused 02 WRX for cheap and had them do some shift bushing replacements. At first I was very skeptical, I usually am especially with a new shop I'm working with. I got a second opinion on some of the recommendations needed, it was all confirmed accurate, and ended up moving forward with resealing up the block (there were oil leaks everywhere). Now it drives like new, doesn't drip or lose any oil at all, and I trust the Subaru experience they have. Words can barely express the value that Damyan and his team provided to me. My 2014 WRX started making the awful throwout bearing noise at 67k, and I knew the clutch had been burnt a few too many times so it was time to get on Renner's schedule. When I called to make an appointment I had a ton of questions and Damien patiently answered them all. I had grand plans to put in a heavy duty stage 2 clutch, but Damyan recommended against it given the drawbacks: heavier pedal, extra stress on the already weak firewall, and overall drivability being harder. Given my car is only lightly modified compared to most and is not tracked it made total sense. A heavy clutch in traffic wouldn't mix well. Damien recommended the Exedy OEM style replacement and a genuine Subaru rear main seal. Both products were a great fit for the car. I dropped the car off at 9:15am or so and the guys had it all ready by 3:45pm. They even went the extra mile to have the car running for a few minutes so that the e-throttle could re-learn since they disconnected the battery for the install. I can tell they took special care to reinstall some of my aftermarket parts, sensors etc. because everything was in the exact same spot as before the install. The engine bay was tidy as well (no grease, oil, etc.) with everything clean and tidy. On my way out, Damien reminded me about the break in period (1,000 miles) and to just go easy on the clutch as it fully seats in. Another example of their great customer service. The shop parking lot and shop itself is a Subaru lover's dream. They had everything from Global Time Attack winning cars to the everyday driver Forrester in for a oil change and tire rotation. If you are in the Southern California area and need your Subaru serviced, Renner is a great option. Just make sure you call ahead and schedule the visit, they book up fast! read more

I came to renners little over a year ago. I knew something was wrong with my engine and I've tested all the things I can do myself with the tools I had. Finally I decided to come in for what I dread. I came in for a compression test, sure enough my engine was gone. Damyan, his dad Peter, along with the rest of the crew made my car like new. Unfortunately a couple of months after the new engine rebuilt, my car was in an accident. Here's a funny anecdote: I referred one of my friends who had recently bought a used outback to get it inspected. When I asked them about their experience he said he got intimidated because he said, "it seems like they work more on race cars" and I replied, "that's what makes them good!" Been taking my NA impreza here for nearly a year now for routine oil changes to exhaust work and have no complaints. The shop has clientele ranging from stock commuter outbacks to track ready IAG STIs so they have all the bases covered. Their services range from routine inspection to full builds (they've got several motors being built/rebuilt on any given day). Since they've had their hands in all these ranges of subarus, you can be assured that their work is quality. Their scope of knowledge is also vast as they've been in this business for a long time. Damyan gives you options concerning repairs or upgrades and can give you advice anytime. Damyan, his father Peter, and the guys in the shop are always friendly and efficient and im always comfortable leaving my car with them. I brought the wifes car in for her power steering pump. I usually have a mechanic that works on the car but he was out of town. I came across Renner from a guy i sold tail lights to couple night prior. Mitch. He is tue mechanic who worked on the car. Anyway mitch told me swing by Renner and theyll take care of the pump and related parts. Long story short i brought a pump and all hoses related to Renner. They went and installed all parts. Car runs beautifully now. Well at least the power steering does. There are a few things that need to get done. A few leaks here and there. Will he getting those done there as well. This is the best mechanic/tuner I have ever had the pleasure of being a customer. Most experiences at the dealership are a hassle, at Renner it's the furthest thing from it. I had my car at the Subaru dealership for 5 days. 5 days and no one could resolve the issue with my car or didn't care to. I kid you not after 20 minutes at Renner they discovered the issue and fixed it. That alone should be enough to end the review. Recently my car needed work done to the power steering. They did all this and then some within 3 weeks while also taking pictures inside the engine to show the work being done. returned to Damyan (& father) for a full brake job...i swapped out OEM rotors for slotted rotors (and new pads) @ 52k...such a great experience here then! my purchase of rotors for the rear then was wrong and Damyan was able to secure some Akebono rotors for me within minutes...today i brought in EBC rotors and some StopTech pads. brake job completed by them in less than 2 hours. an exhaust leak i asked to have checked was a crack along the j-pipe near one of the hangers...fortunately it will be repairable by welding today thx guys! always always a great experience here read more
