So I just bought a exhaust system for my Tacoma and needed someone to install. I looked around and got different quotes. What I liked about Verne here at sweeny's was that he asked to look at the system to gauge how much the install would be. As soon as I got there Verne took my truck up on the lift and managed to work on it while juggling other customers. I do no recommend this place. Our catalytic converter was stolen. We had them replace with a non OEM converter auto insurance covered it. They said they could not get the OEM part due to supply. We believe him. It cost an arm and a leg for the non OEM $2990.00. I later found out the OEM cost $1400. We drove the car for a few months and the engine light came on. We took it 2 2 auto shop and they diagnosed with code P0420. This means the catalytic converter threshold is below 1. I called and took the car there. Provided proof of payment and the diagnostic report. Verne keeps giving me excuses every week. After 5 wks of trying to get the shop to honor the warranty. He finally look at the car and said, oh someone installed an illegal O2 sensor and therefore the warranty is void. If he look at the car at the beginning, he would have save me a lot of stress. During the 5 weeks he was being dishonest and didn't want to honor the warranty which is not right. He may talk like he trying to help you but he's really is like an insurance company, delay, delay, and don't pay. Bottom line is because another auto shop installed an illegal O2 sensor, the issue remains the catalytic converter they installed didn't work. We took it back to the other shop to replace it and it's working fine. Don't go to this muffler shop. read more

I took my prized 70 TR6 to Sweeny's for a new exhaust tip as it was 25 years old and developed a nasty rattle upon startup. Verne and his guys jumped right on it and showed me the where the main rattle was and also a broken bracket further up the exhaust pipe near the engine. I was so impressed with the installation work quality that I also opted for a replacement of the 25year old FlowMaster muffler. The entire job took about an hour. The quality was exceptional and price was extremely fair. The best was the rattleless startup and beautiful throaty sound my car made and that TR6's are known for. Bravo! read more

My truck had a P420 code that really needed to be addressed before I took it back to Texas for inspection. I'm a girl, but I'm not stupid. So, I left that other place and Sweeney's was recommended to me by a family member. I'm so so happy with Vern and his team. So if you're reading this review, maybe your catalytic converter was stolen because someone is strapped for cash and hasn't found an alternative to palladium for their arc reactor yet. Yes there's also other valuable metals in your cat converter but whatever. Iron man needs a better hobby. Fortunately, I haven't had the pleasure of getting my cats stolen yet so I decided to get a cat shield installed on my prius. Verne and Alvin knew their stuff and could install cat shields in their sleep. I was in and out within 30-40 minutes for a fair price, much better than having to go through insurance and everything for replacing a potentially stolen cat converter. It's tragic that cat converter theft is so rampant so I only hope you are coming in for cat shield installation rather than cat converter replacements. But either way, these guys will do everything they can to take care of you and your car. read more
