Finally, I called at 7:07 pm. I was on hold 20 minutes and then someone hung up on me. I called back at 7:27. This call lasted approximately 24 minutes. I asked about the status of my transfer and I was told that they had no transfer request. I told her that I had email conformation. She apologized and said she would process the transfer RIGHT THEN. She asked for the complete spelling of the 2 meds I needed transferred, dosage, etc. On Friday September 12, I called at 11:36 am. I was on the call a total of 20 minutes. She said they didn't have the transfer request, but she would process it RIGHT THEN. Again, I was asked to spell the medication, give dosage, etc. She then informs me that one of them cannot be transferred. My doctor would have to send a request to Walgreens. Let me remind you, I have an email confirmation, from days ago, which includes the two prescriptions. This was now my 3rd request for this SAME TRANSFER. I ended up going to pick up one of my prescriptions from CVS, because I really needed it. This took extra time, gas and effort; as Walgreens is closer. It ALSO COST ME EXTRA MONEY BECAUSE CVS IS OUT OF NETWORK!! As of today, Monday September 15th @ 4:00 pm, that other prescription still hasn't been processed. This isn't a dinner order I'm complaining about. These medications literally save people's lives!! When it's time to re-elect insurance coverage, I will not be choosing a plan which requires me to use Walgreens. I've had so many bad experiences with this particular Walgreens Pharmacy. My first experience solidified my plan to never go to CVS or another pharmacy again. We were in and out in under 5 minutes--it's like hitting a small lottery when you have a sick toddler in tow, and I love it even more that he's located directly across from our pediatrician's office within the same building (we go to Richardson Pediatrics). I haven't seen a sign for it from the outside, so it's not obvious from the street. It's located inside a one story brown building on the northeast corner of Arapaho and Floyd, along with a lot of pediatrician offices. Once you step foot inside, you'll see clear "pharmacy" signs. You can tell he's working hard to build his business and to make it succeed by offering services like free delivery within a 3 mile range. He also mentioned if I were in a real emergency and needed to get something filled, I can try calling him, too--something you won't get with the larger pharmacies.
