I came for the twice on the past month for the Frankenstein bar and the Emo Christmas pop up bar. It was really fun. This place had lots of seating in the front and back bar and lots of cool photo ops. It's all decked out for the holidays and it's a fun time. Drinks are good and strong as well. The emo Christmas bar was extremely fun! It was a bit lore organized than the Halloween bar and they had lots of little goodies going around which was nice. The only thing that sucks about coming here is the parking is nightmare! Most paid parking is gonna start at about $20. I'd recommend getting tickets online to attend. They start at about $20 and include a drink. Happy holidays!

Came here for the Xmas emo night and I had so much fun the vibes were definitely present the drinks were AMAZING!!! And at some point we ended up getting free pizza!! The service was amazing the bartender was super friendly and attentive he took our order right away. I didn't even wait less than a minute to receive my drinks 10/10 Would definitely come back here

    Karaoke stage (Dec 2025)

Remix Room (formerly The Oaks Hollywood) is a female-owned cocktail bar / speakeasy located in Hollywood. It was recently rebranded in June 2025 under a new ownership. This bar does seasonal themed pop-ups like Frankenstein's Lounge and Emo Christmas. Recently our party came to visit Emo Christmas in December 2025. [Parking]: No designated parking lot for the bar so street metered parking or local paid parking lots only. I had to circle the neighborhood few times and ultimately found a metered parking spot near the intersection of Yucca & Vine. [Price]: Our party pre-ordered Emo Christmas tickets on Bucket Listers and the price was starting at $17.80 per person (including fees). [Experience]: The ticket Includes a 90-minute experience + 1 "Taking Back Christmas" Cocktail (Silver Tequila, Black Elixir G Ginger, Passion Fruit, Sweet & Sour). No alcohol? Visitor can request for a mocktail instead. The bar was decorated with emo theme including an emo Santa. The bar got a lot more lively after 10 PM and visitors began to take turn singing at the karaoke at the front stage with throwback emo songs like "Welcome to the Black Parade", "Creep", "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Misery Business", "The Middle", etc. [Conclusion]: The karaoke was literally the difference between dead vs good vibe. Follow Remix Room on IG for the next pop-up experience.

A very cool dive bar located in a little secret street right off the main Hollywood blvd walk of fame with celebrity stars. This venue has regular themes throughout the year. Right now, they have a Boy Band Heartbreaker bar with certain evenings for boy band trivia, karaoke, and sometimes special guests. I went on a night one of the members of the boy band/comedy group 2ge+her was DJing! I got to meet him and sing a duet with him. There is a small stage area for karaoke, a bar when you walk in, a back room lounge area, and an outside patio upstairs. I had a blast here. One of the bartenders was especially so enthusiastic and made my evening. The other bartender was leas personable. I am looking forward to bringing more friends here, and even hanging out to sing and watch others alone!

Such a fun and unique experience! The whole place is designed like a Frankenstein-style lab, and the ambiance alone makes it worth checking out -- moody lighting, beakers, bubbling "experiments," and all the spooky-science vibes you could want. There's no food offered, but the drinks definitely make up for it. I loved how you get to mix and create your own concoctions -- it really feels like a little science experiment in a cup. Everything tasted great, and the interactive element made it even better. Service was friendly and helpful, especially when explaining the "lab" process and helping us choose our mixes. If you're into themed pop-ups, cocktails, or anything Halloween-ish, this is a must-try! Perfect for a fun night out and great photo ops.

Everything was great about this place! It was karaoke night and the patrons were so much fun and very welcoming. I was there for a Boy Band popup event (it's over now) and they had the place decorated perfectly, with theme drinks and everything. They even had some of the owner's memorabilia from back in the day! They also have other theme events coming up, so check them out!

Came for the Frankenstein experience, it was the best set up. It was beautifully set up, I loved how this bar was not overly crowded, there were actually places to sit and enjoy your drink! The drinks were delicious! I will for sure come back to this bar!

My friend and I went on a Sunday night for the Mad Scientist Experience through Bucket Listers. We took an Uber since there's no parking and the area felt a bit sketchy--right next to a run-down laundromat, which made us question if we were in the right place. Once we spotted the "Remix Room" sign, the bouncer checked our tickets, gave us drink vouchers, and we headed inside. The venue was amazing--spooky decor, a mix of goth and dressed-up guests, and karaoke starting soon after we arrived. A divination expert gave us a quick mini reading (with full readings available at the bar for extra). We tried three themed drinks: the Electric Jolt (smoky effect), Divination (glow light and floating eyeball), and Bride of Frankenstein (pouring berry puree that looked like blood). All were delicious, creative, and fit the theme perfectly. Overall, it was a fun, immersive night--I'd definitely come back!

Today is 9-25-25 and I was just here this past Saturday night, 9-20-25 for a Halloween event I guess I shall say. Discovered this bar on the bucket list app. Parking is crazy in Hollywood. No street parking available when we arrived and I refused to pay $20-25 knowing I was only going to be there for a short time. So I eventually searched and found a spot in the parking lot next door. Be on the lookout for tow truck drivers. They are very shady and nefarious. They will lie and say someone called for a tow truck when they didn't. They really be on the look out, watching people park. Anyways lol was a speedy process being checked in before stepping foot inside the bar. It was dark with loud music playing. Halloween decor soon as you walk in. Giving it that spooky and haunting vibe. Wasn't packed out but it was enough bodies present for a party and they all seemed to be enjoying theirselves. Surprised by the karaoke I was lol probably would've gotten up there myself if I was drunk or something lol At least 3 bartenders working the bar. Didn't catch our bartenders name but he was cool and fast with our cocktails. I had the "Bride of Frankstein" which was whisky, ginger beer, and a berry puree. Basically a "Moscow Mule" with the vodka being substituted for whisky instead. That drink was great and did its job. My date had the "Electric Jolt". She also enjoyed her drink. Cocktails were $16 each , however, I paid about $13 each with our reservation thru the bucketlist app. We had a few conversations amongst a few individuals present. Finished our drinks and slid off to the next bar. All in all I enjoyed myself for the short amount of time. Excluding us, there was one more black person. He was cool and so was everyone else. Diverse crowd it was. Felt like it was more of a bar for those who are more so into rock music, heavy metal or even some pop. It's good to change your environment or surroundings and meet new and different people. Expand your horizons. Step out of your comfort zone. You'll never know who you'll meet or what moments you'll end up creating. Really no complaints about my experience. The only thing was parking which really wasn't too bad cuz I was able to park. Enjoy myself and come back out to my car lol. Definitely was a great night out in West Hollywood.

Perfect little stage for karaoke. Two screens makes it easy to follow along.

I ordered the American breakfast, which was filling, flavorful, and a great value. The tiki flight was also a highlight and such a fun way to explore the different drinks and discover what you like. The colada was by far my favorite! The rooftop itself has a wonderful atmosphere--it feels open and lively while still offering a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood Boulevard. The celebrity wax figures placed around the rooftop add a playful, uniquely Hollywood touch and make for some fun photo opportunities. Great food, creative drinks, generous portions, and a memorable setting. I would definitely recommend stopping by for brunch or drinks while exploring Hollywood.

(This experience occurred on 05/08/26. This review was mistakenly posted for the Madame Tussaud Wax…read moreMuseum.) I've dined at the Rooftop restaurant several times, and I've noticed a general trend: extremely slow service, but tasty food. My most recent visit on Friday, May 8, however, permanently changed my opinion of this restaurant. (I dined in a group of four for a 6:00 PM reservation.) At the start of meal, everything seemed as good as usual: extremely slow service, but tasty food. I ordered the Sea Bass as my main entree and the Garlic Cheese Puffs as my appetizer. Another person in my party also ordered the same entree. After 40 minutes--yes, 40 minutes--the staff begins dropping off our food. They brought everything except my sea bass, but they brought my friend's. After 5 minutes, when it seemed apparent that our waiter wasn't going to check in on us, we signal him over and ask about my sea bass. He quickly says he'll "check on it." Then, 5 minutes later, he returns saying the dish would be right out. At this point, I've been waiting almost 55 mins for a sea bass dish. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, so this started to become frustrating, especially with the lack of attentive service. Finally, my dish arrives. My partner noticed that the color of my sea bass didn't match the golden brown, crispness of my friend's sea bass. I then cut directly into the center of the fish and discover it's purple and raw. Inedible. Now, it's 7:00 PM. I've waited 1 hour for raw fish? We quickly wave down our waiter and show him the raw fish, which he takes back to the kitchen for a re-fire. Because I was seeing John Mulaney at the Hollywood Bowl at 7:30 PM, I requested the order to be canceled. The manager visits our table and tries to offer me another dish "on the house," but given the time and the fact that I was served raw food, I declined. I didn't want to rush eating my food and quite frankly didn't trust the kitchen to cook more food for me. Flash forward to receiving the check. The manager gave us a 50% discount, which only did two things: 1. It removed the sea bass--but why not just void that dish? Oh, they said they can't do that. That seems odd to me, given the type of restaurant the Rooftop purports itself to be. 2. It gave us $20 off a $200+ bill. By the way, the restaurant still charged an automatic gratuity charge of 20%. I understand that's the Rooftop's policy, which they do state on their website and their menu. But why should the staff receive an automatic gratuity when they clearly forgot to put in my sea bass, then served it raw, and didn't bother to refill our water or check in on us throughout the meal. Again, the restaurant has extremely slow service, but, this time, inedible food. After we pay, the waiter brings my party free shots, which we all politely declined. None of us ordered shots in the first place, drinks yes, but we weren't in that kind of mood. I don't believe the Rooftop did all that they could to make the situation right, and the manager didn't even bother to check in on us at the end of the meal. Her lack of urgency was appalling and, quite frankly, disturbing. I highly doubt she would be okay with this kind of service if she were in my position. I will never dine here again, and will never recommend it. What a shame. This place was starting to become a regular spot for me.

There were also seats at the bar but not enough for our group size. We came in for drinks and food before heading over to TCL Chinese Theatre. We ordered a few drinks and some shareables. The French martini was delicious- it had raspberry liqueur, pineapple juice and vodka. Very refreshing. The wild mushroom tagliatelle was phenomenal the pasta was just right and oh those delicate but powerful herbs, divine! The Japanese sweet potatos were so tender, the sauce that was one them was so yummy, I loved it. The steak & frites were scrumptious, steak was perfectly medium rare and fries were classic. The charcuterie board was so good we got the 3 cheese and 2 meats, everyone enjoyed it. The fresh baguette was crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside, only thing that could have made it better was a little balsamic. Overall wonderfully surprised by the lobby bar on a Tuesday night.

With dishes from Shirley Brasserie available all day, it's the perfect spot to enjoy everything from light bites to seasonal plates, surrounded by the warmth of the historic fireplace and the charm of this iconic setting." -- from The Roosevelt Hotel's website. Shirley Brasserie, the restaurant referred to above, is also located in The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (located next to The Lobby). The "iconic" they refer to is the fact that this hotel is historic -- it was built in 1926 during the Golden Era of Los Angeles architecture. It is named after Theodore Roosevelt. The first Academy Awards (Oscars) was held here in 1929. The hotel had its ups and downs since then but currently it looks beautiful and thriving. Take your out-of-state visiting friends/relatives to this place. Because this is a big part of "Hollywood". I recommend The Lobby to hang out after a long day's work or after a nice dinner nearby. This is where my sister and I went after our dinner at Musso and Frank. My sister ordered their Espresso Martini which was really good. I had a beer. Our server wasn't as warm as the ones during my visit in 2023. I think she was an introvert or a bit of a nervous person. But she did not seem potentially horrible. Restroom: I did not go to the restroom this time. I think there was a line. But I remember back in 2023 that you had to ask for a key or a code. Which is understandable for this area. Parking: I recommend the valet parking. If validated, the fee is really reasonable (I forgot how much they charged). We got ours validated because we ordered those drinks from The Lobby.
