My first time visiting AND while they did their trash bag sale. They provided the bags. I was very happy to see the options they had available but def come early since there will be a line. Once done I made sure to do a look around inside and just amazed how much they had plus how organized it all was. Expect to do some digging to find what you're looking for tho if you need something specific. I was able to find those little bits like zippers, buttons and trim at such a great price. I felt lucky I got 5 patterns in good condition and complete tho I did take my time flipping through all the bins but I don't mind that. I was glad they do Venmo payments. read more

I just found this place and what a great bit of luck that turns out to be! Only a quick stop, however left with the following: 1) Several interesting sketch books include black paper and thick watercolor paper. 2) Some nice tubes of good nice paint and good art pens and pastels. 3) some great supply storage containers of plastic and wood. 4) some very good wood scraps and driftwood foe carving purposes. Great " Thrift" Craft store. They have fabric, Patterns, Yarn, art supplies, Paper, and even vintage items. All are donated, so they are helping out the community as well as keeping items out of the landfill. I have taken a class there as well, which was really enjoyable. Great creative reuse and maker space! Remainders is a nonprofit founded on creating art from the remainders of fabrics, turning scraps into salvaged art. They also offers classes in sewing, printmaking, art classes for kids. You can purchase a maker card for time to use the space if you wanted to make something. I was able to drop off some craft supplies that I didn't need. Robin and Amy are super sweet. It's so amazing they made their dream a reality and found a space to house all these fabrics, notions, and creative supplies and move out of their garage! As a artist and general maker-bot I find Remainders to be pivotal for supplies. Do I care if my new pad of tracing paper has three fewer sheets than when new? I do not! I am very hard on paint brushes, so using the last bit of life out of a used brush suits my needs. I can also bring to them supplies I find that I'm not using. This is a great way to play inexpensively with new art materials, experiment, try, fail, try different,innovate. I am so happy a place like this exists in LA. It is such a wonderful community of makers, artists and volunteers. I am always inspired every time I go there. I have just gotten into crocheting and whatnot, but was dissuaded from taking on major projects due to the steep prices of yarn. I saw this store on an Instagram reel, and I knew I had to go! I went with my mother and brother and I was in HEAVEN. Un-judgmental place, great vibes. We got a ton of stuff (yarn, markers, notebooks, paper, etc) which would have been WELL over a hundred dollars anywhere else, but it was only about $45. Definitely check out this place! So this is the place if sewing and crafting comes to mind. But moreover it had a bit of nostalgia for me. If you remember Woolworth's, Newberry's, 5 and Dime,or the Fabric warehouse stores, you'll love this place. I'm a scavenger by nature and love searching through bins and boxes to come up with that perfect thing I was never looking for. Robin the store owner is helpful and you can tell she enjoys her store and customers. Additionally, She offers sewing classes for adults and children. (Check the ages). I have been here twice, probably a week apart, I went back to grab some stuff I missed and most of it was gone, so theres good turnover here. A lot of the materials are really high quality too! My daughter and I just took our first Kinder & Me class and we both had so much fun! We each made a sock/glove creature and my daughter got to actually sew everything! The shop is filled with so many cool things at really reasonable prices! Fabrics by the yard, scraps if fabric by the pound, beads and so much more! For what this little arts and crafts shop is, it's great! They take donated items and sell it for a discounted price. They are a not for profit store where most of their proceeds seems to go to towards maintenance of the shop and classes such as knitting and crocheting. I came here to donate some old clay and paint I no longer need. I also bought a few seashells to help me redecorate my new home. Their staff are very friendly and will try to help you locate most of the things you're looking for. They are pretty organized but there are so many random things that you would still need some patience and tenacity to look for what you want. You can also stumble into some interesting finds. I would definitely recommend if you have any arts and crafts supplies you want to donate and not just dump.
