I'm changing my review to warn people, there is nothing reliable about the cars here. Purchased a 2005 Civic Ex with 63,000 miles at purchase for $5500, had to fight to get rid of sudden several hundred dollar fees after putting down a deposit as well. Changed oil and filter before 500 miles went on it, replaced the tires and brake pads. After about 1500 miles the engine stalled while stuck at a light while in drive, I didn't think much of it at the time but no check engine light was on. Didn't take long for that light to come on and for me to find the thing was burning through an excessive amount of oil, and due to it getting low one of the valve rings likely seized which caused it to burn even more. Unfortunately for me I found this out right as the lemon law coverage expired, lucky me. I tried contacting the owner to get some kind of resolution but he has not returned my emails even though he states that's his preferred contact method. The actual sale process was difficult enough and a $5,000 car ended up costing more than listed even when paid in cash. There has been no compensation or even discussion of such for the engine, which is gonna cost me about 3k out of pocket to replace. The engine is shot from a problem which should not have existed in the first place on such a low mileage engine, but clearly the previous owner was neglectful and Scott either knowingly or unknowingly sold me such an engine and has done nothing to right it. Now I have not heard back after several emails over the course of a week and I fear I will get nothing out of it. So the least I can do is let others know so they do not have to make the same mistake I did. read more

My husband and I bought a car from Scott years ago. My daughter just purchased her first car and my son bought a car from him last year. We have known Scott for many years. He may seem a little all over the place at times, but he really is a good guy. He was very good to us and gave us good deals, my kids would not have been able to get a 2010 & 2013 Honda Civic for a better price. The process did take a little long from start to finish when both my kids bought their cars but in the end they are both VERY happy with their new Honda Civic. read more

Reliable Hondas sells SALVAGE and FLOOD cars without disclosing the info. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I found a car on Craigslist to go look at under the impression it was a private sale. Only to arrive to this odd location with cars scattered all around. So now I realize the lies have already started. I was looking at a Honda Civic that was a great price. It seemed most of the prices on the other cars were too good to be true. I gathered my information while I was there and looked the car over. I wanted to do more research and get back to them, but they insisted I buy the car or at least give a deposit because the car won't be there when I come back. A pretty poor tactic if you ask me. I asked about the history of the car and if there was any previous accidents or known problems. I was told I had nothing to worry about and that all the vehicles they have are hand picked, checked over and some other nonsense. Something didn't seem right with the fact that I was being fast talked and repetitively told to give them a deposit. So after I left, I went home to buy the CARFAX report. I actually bought a package of reports instead of just one since I was doing my car shopping and wanted to be safe. This is where it gets interesting. The Civic I was interested in was a TOTAL LOSS VEHICLE and it had a SALVAGE TITLE. NEVER did they tell me this. No wonder the price was so good, the car belongs in the junk yard. How can a dealer not disclose this? I decided to check the CARFAX on another Civic they had because the price was very good also and I was definitely not buying the other one. This time the report came back and said that the vehicle was SALVAGE because of FLOOD DAMAGE. I almost couldn't believe it. I shared my findings with a couple friends that are in the car business and they exclaimed that this place has been selling rebuilt, flooded salvage junk for years. That they prey on unknowing innocent customers. Basically the place is a complete rip off. BUYERS BE WARE. ALMOST ALL CARS THAT ARE SOLD HERE ARE SALVAGE AND HAVE BEEN A TOTAL LOSS OR FLOODED. Keep away from this place at all costs unless you enjoy drama and BS! We called and made an appointment on February 23 to see a car, after finding the place and getting " interviewed" by Scott and listing to him talk about building relationships with his customers and about trust and integrity for over an hour we get to see the car we wanted. As we go to start the car lo and behold it does not go into reverse we really like the car and he says if we leave a deposit he will get it up on the lift the next day fix the issue, call us and the car would be ready by the next Saturday for pick up, as we are talking he shows a Subaru that has the right side completely caved in and is leaking oil but as per Scott is beautiful and clean inside and is going to sell for 9k after he fixes it? That should have been my indication to run as this guy is fixing up wrecks and selling them. After sitting down signing up an agreement and leaving a $100.00 deposit he agrees to have us first in line for the car and will call us up the next day. Guess what the next day comes and goes no call two days later no call. He finally replies and says the car is still being looked at. A family friend then calls us knowing we were looking at a particular car to tell us that he offered her the same car if she got to him before we did! So much for his BS spiel on trust and building relationships! After one week and not hearing from him I called BS on this guy and asked for my deposit to be returned. It took two weeks and threats to take him to court to finally return my deposit . Save yourself the trouble and keep away! read more

I went to look at cars here a few years back. We scheduled a time to meet with the owner/dealer. Apparently he scheduled the same time with 4 other people. Two of the families left, under the impression it would be a one on one meeting with the car dealer. I was left with another poor kid and his parents. The owner was acting very erratic, talking quickly and avoiding direct questions. I kept exchanging wide eyed glances with the other family that was there. They were obviously as weirded out as I was. The owner had cars scattered all over the lot. He went to bring one up to the front when he backed into the building! He quickly uttered that he would fix that if we decided to buy that car. Needless to say I will not be purchasing a car here. read more

So, I'm so sorry to hear about all the bad experience on yelp but I guess I was fortunate enough to have a good one. I recently purchase a 2010 Honda civic for my son and the only problem I had was with the a.c.. I emailed Scott right away and he made and appointment with me, had his guys check out the vehicle and said he will order the part for me and replace it with no issue. NOW, I won't lie to you guys, at first I really thought this was a scam and I was a little skeptical whether or not to purchase a vehicle from here, but guys I did and I must say it was not bad at all. From the moment I went to look at the vehicles they had, he told me that these vehicles all have a salvage title, so I new what I was getting myself into. So no surprises there. The only downside to this, is that I waited a long time for the title to come in. But the process after and going to motor vehicle's was a piece of cake, I mean they did give me folder with all the paper work i needed to go to motor vehicle and told me what to expect and had no issues at all. MY ONLY SUGGESTION IS, IF YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT CARS GO WITH A MECHANIC OR SOMEONE THAT DOES AND ASK QUESTION. These vehicles do have a salvage title which means they have damage. Ask to see photos of the before and after of the vehicle, drive the car, open the hood become one with the vehicle lol and I promise, you won't be disappointed! read more

DO NOT USE THIS DEALER!! took our money, showed up an hour late for us to pick up the car. Car was in a snow bank from a storm 2 days prior. Told us we had to bring a shovel to get it out. Gas tank empty, washer fluid empty. Car filthy inside. BAD paint job, but for a small fee he would buff it out in the spring. All of the negative comments are spot on. This guy is a BS artist. Totally unprofessional, used the F-word in front of my daughter. Totally disgusted with him and his sleazy business. Save your money and go to a reputable dealer. read more

DO NOT GO THERE!!! They deal in auction cars and they fix up crashed Honda's and resell them for used full price. After the total hassle in dealing with the owner and his assistant. I walked out of there paying almost 4 thousand for a 2002 Honda. After a few months I found the car they sold me had a blown head gasket. So now to repair that and get a rental for the week its down its going to cost me 800 for the repair and over 200 for the rental. A few weeks ago I went in to see Scott to take a look at his used car deals that I had viewed on Craigslist. Although he had been busy that night and had a commitment not too soon after he took the time to see me and discuss the cars he had available at the time that were in my budget. I had decided on a car that night and put a large deposit down on the vehicle, however later came to the conclusion that the car was not a good fit for me. When I discussed this with him he was completely understanding and has seen me many times over the last few weeks in an effort to show me new cars that came onto the lot, as well as others that fit my criteria. He even went to such lengths as buying cars at auctions that he thought might be a good fit for me. Ultimately, we were able to come to an agreement that had a positive outcome for both of us and we left on very good terms. read more

This place is the worst. The owner is rude and a fast talker and thinks he is slick. I found a car on craigslist and went on Saturday 3/10/18 to look at the car with my parents who are from out of state. We drove the car and looked it over and all that was wrong was a little paint chipping on the hood.I put down a $1500 deposit on the car and was told that it would be ready by Tuesday 3/12/18. After multiple unanswered calls and emails as to when the car was ready, we were told that during the inspection the check engine light came on and they had to drive the car around to make sure it didn't come back on. He then said that the car would be ready Thursday or Friday the latest. by Wednesday he was still dodging calls. so my mom went to the dealership (if it can even be called that), and the owner was trying to hide from her . Once she asked for my money back he was trying to make excuses say the car was still at the mechanic. the dealer then went outside and tried to drive away, my mom standing in the way was almost hit by his car. There was another potential victim and my mother told him to not waste his time or money. The dealer wanted to give my mother a check but she made him call the bank and she then followed him to the bank to retrieve my $1500. He is a scammer and a cheat and I hope that no one else has to go through what I went through while looking for a car. read more

First, I must say that Scott is a very patient man, I found a very nice 2002 Toyota Camry, and drove up from Westchester to see it and have a test drive. Though it was a Sunday, Scott came over and we took a decent drive. I left him a substantial deposit, but was not able to raise the complete price for over two weeks. Trying to do business with Scott was close to impossible. First of all, he's extremely high strung and goes with the hard sell approach that the car won't be available if you don't put a deposit down right then and there. We had an appointment at a specified time to look at a particular car and when we got there it wasn't there, plus there were 4 other groups looking to speak to him. We ended up test driving a similar car and put a deposit down on original car- site unseen (BIG mistake). Also, the price of the car was $500 higher than what it was listed for on Craigslist. We wanted the car within 2 weeks and when we called it wasn't ready. When there were unexpected problems with the car during week 3, Scott offered us the choice of looking at something else on the lot, him looking for something else for us, or having our deposit refunded. When we made the decision to have our deposit refunded he gave us an attitude and said that he was being penalized for telling us the truth about the car. It then took us an additional 6 weeks, numerous phone calls and emails to finally receive our deposit back. Take it from us, go elsewhere, it's not worth the hassle. I recently bought a car from Reliable Hondas. It was a Mazda 3 that is turning out to be a fine car. There was issues with the rear wheel hub bearings that had to be fixed so Scott and I worked a deal. This repair was done by my mechanic and Scott was to reimburse me. This was a bit of work to get the money but in the end I did get it. At this point so far so Good. The car starts and runs good came with new brakes and good tires. If you do decide to buy from here just make sure everything you agreed to have fixed is fixed before paying. read more

I recently had the opportunity to do business with G.D.T Automotive and it's CEO Scott Gellar. Scott is a car guy with boundless energy and enthusiasm. He was able to show me several cars which met my needs and were within my budget. I put down a deposit on one vehicle. I needed a car immediately, and as it turned out, the vehicle we agreed upon would not be available until the title cleared through DMV. I was able to find another vehicle from a private sale which I was able to register within a day or two. Scott returned my deposit without a hassle, and was true to his word. I hope to do business with him in the future as his business is unique in offering vehicle at a competitive price which have been service right on his lot. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! SCAM ALERT!!! RUN!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. When I arrived on location the evening of Thursday, July 7th 2016 I was surprised to find an open lot with cars scattered about on the property of a small farm. However, I was there to purchase two cars for my very excited twin girls for their birthday. My girls had worked hard to save up over $2000 on their own and my husband and I put in the balance as a birthday gift. My initial contact was with Scott Geller, Owner, a fast talking salesperson that began to point out the various different vehicles he had available. He went on and on about how I will never find cars in perfect condition for the incredible prices that he offers them and that he has been in business for over 20 years. He states all his cars have clean car faxes with 1 or 2 owners max (not true). All of the pressuring and fast talking made me want to turn around and run but my girls fell in love with "twin" Scions. Scott assured us that the cars were in excellent condition and even went as far as to tell us that he has the "best mechanics you will ever find". He also stated if we run into any problem we have a 30 day warranty and that he would fix or refund (not true). We decided to purchase. However, since DMV was closed, one of the cars needed a paint touch up and the other car needed repair to the back hatch and window, Scott told us we could pick up both cars Monday but that we had to leave a deposit in good faith or he couldn't hold cars. The car was not ready until Wednesday. On Wednesday, July 13th 2016, I went to purchase cars only to find that they touched up the light blue scion with gray paint. Genie (another salesperson) tried to convince me that that was the correct colors as if I did not have eyes. Once she was caught her her very obvious lie, she agreed to order correct color and retouch. We came back the next evening and I bought both cars. The very next day one of the cars gave trouble starting. We took it to a mechanic who told us the battery is bad, the water pump is leaking, the rear brake pads, rotors and calipers are bad and there is a plug in the side wall of the tire (apparently this is a huge safety issue and against NYS law). This car should have never passed inspection. Scott had the inspection done for us. I immediately emailed Scott (which is the only way you can truly communicate with him) with no response. The next day my daughter's car wouldn't start at all and so I emailed Scott again with no response. Finally Scott called me 8:30p on Saturday night where from there he went back and forth for days over if he would repair these items or not. He eventually stopped returning mine and my husbands phone call stating the vehicle is drivable and we got it for a good price. We replaced the battery ourselves and have taken this vehicle to 4 licensed mechanics who have given us paperwork documenting their findings. My daughters were also thankfully smart enough to record much of our conversations while discussing car in his office (hopefully that helps us in court). They all agree this vehicle is in bad shape and should not have passed inspection let alone be sold in this condition. They all sympathize for my daughter who is a full time college student who worked many long hours to be able to afford a car that she can not drive or afford to fix. I feel terrible for her and Scott should be ashamed of himself. I have contacted the Office of the Attorney General, The Department of Consumer Affairs, The DMV safety division and will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau and filing a civil claim. I was told by DMV safety division that he will likely lose his license to perform NYS inspections. It is also my plan to call the local news station. I am far from finished with trying to get the Justice I deserve and I advise you if you have been scammed by Reliable Honda (AKA: GDT Automotive Critique) to do the same. I wish I would have read these Yelp reviews before getting involved with Scott and his shady dealings. It is my hope that my post saves other hard working people the aggravation and heartache that I have to endure by watching my baby girl look at her car just sitting in the driveway. read more

Very shady business you call the number they tell you to go to their website to set up an appointment.a few months ago I called spoke with Scott,after speaking with him for 45 minutes,I was told the car that was posted the day before on Craigslist was sold,ok a bit strange but it could have happened.about a week ago we saw another car we were interested in,a reliable Hondas my husband called the number spoke with Scott he said he was walking around the lot,and the car is really nice,the next day we arrive at reliable Hondas we were greeted by an Asian woman,who told us the car we were interested in they did not have my husband told her we just spoke with Scott the night before and he was looking at the car ,she responded that funny he was on vacation and had not been there in 3 days!,, needless to say we will not buying a car from reliable Hondas.FALSE ADVERTISERS!
