We chose Reliable Delivery based on Yelp. From the beginning contact with Daniel to the end of our move we could not have been more pleased. John, Nate and Seth arrived right on time and ready to pack out our 2600sf belongings to our 1300sf condo and storage. They were very accomodating and very pleasant. It was obvious that they were experts and we looked to them for a bit of advice. Unfortunately our storage closed at 6pm which left us with a van full of our storage items. They reassured us they would secure the van over night and meet us at 8am at our storage. This was a huge stress relief and at 8am the next morning they were there and expedited the move in an hour. Dan and Seth moved my things this morning in record time! Dan provided quick responses on all email communications prior to the move, showed up right on time, and were all smiles and great attitudes. They were very friendly and professional - I felt like it was my older brothers' friends who just showed up to help. Everything was moved and then re-set up in just 2 hours, not a ding in the wall or anything broken or chipped at all. They moved numerous large and unwieldy items (a double reclining couch...) expertly, secured everything, and carefully saved all nuts and bolts so it was quick on the unpacking end as well. Best moving experience by far since moving to San Diego County. I moved from the San Carlos area to Santee back in March. Right from the start, they gave a good first impression. After calling them, I spoke to Daniel and was told to fill out a form and he emailed me back information that I needed pretty promptly. Any additional questions I had, he was able to answer them and was pretty honest. They had 3 guys who were very professional, efficient, and courteous. They did not complain and had a great attitude throughout the move. I was skeptical about hiring them for our move because we've had bad experiences in the past with movers. We ended up paying less than what we were quoted (probably helped that we moved a lot of items prior to the moving date) and we got a nice discount because we paid in cash. I also like the fact that they don't charge you extra for things like wardrobe boxes, shrink wrap, and blankets. I would highly recommend this company for your next move. read more

We contracted with Reliable Delivery to move the contents of a garage to a storage facility and then to move various furniture items to a nearby residence. We were in a time crunch as the owner of the property who was going to do the move himself, was badly injured the day before the scheduled move. I researched movers and identified three possible candidates and called each of them. When I spoke to Daniel (the owner) I knew I found the company we would use. He was professional and took the time to explain things to me. He was able to meet our time demands and completed the move as planned. They worked hard and fast and did an excellent job. The arrangement was easy--a quote initiated by filling out their web form, hearing back by email (just be careful that their message back might be sorted as junk mail), returning the agreement form, and then waiting for the call. Overall I would have to say my experience was pretty great: they showed up on-time/early, were very friendly, got to work immediately, were very fast and efficient and worked tirelessly to complete the job. They even brought in an extra guy at no extra cost to help move the process along faster. So why not a perfect score of 5 stars? Unfortunately I was very disappointed in the way my bed frame was dismantled. My bedroom set is fairly new and I paid over $3,000 for it. It's my baby and I'm very careful with it. I walked into the bedroom while it was being dismantled and I was horrified to see very obvious dents from the drill all over the inside of the frame at every place a screw was removed! I nearly had a heart attack! I instantly confronted the guy and his response was "oh, you can't see it. It's on the inside." I seriously wanted to cry. I looked at the opposing side where the main guy had removed the screws and there wasn't a single dent, which goes to show that one guy (I think his name was Seth) was very careful not to dent it up, but the other guy wasn't at all. He wasn't apologetic either and instead gave me the excuse of it not being visible. It is visible, because I can see it and I know it's there and it bothers me, and it basically devalued and depreciated my property. I was really hurt and upset by it but the damage was already done. I had to leave the room because I was steaming with anger. After taking a breather it was kind of awkward being around the careless guy, and he now wasn't really talking to me anymore. He should have been more careful and apologized for it, rather than blowing it and me off. That wasn't cool. Also the extra guy they brought in accidentally broke one of my 3-drawer desk pieces. Yes, I know it's particle board which isn't sturdy, but seeing and knowing that, I would think that he should have been more careful with it than he was. Also, because they stacked heavy boxes onto one of the chairs-that-turns-into-a-bed that was at my new spot, that chair no longer turns into a bed :( grrr. Not totally their fault but it's a bummer. A combination of those cons are why I would have given my experience 2-3 stars, however the redeeming factors are (1) how overall efficient and friendly they were (2) bringing in an extra guy to help out (3) taking the time to carefully wrap each furniture piece (4) Seth was awesome and brought some furniture pens in to try to cover up the dents - of course it's not in its original unadulterated state but he at least tried to make up for his partner's mistake (5) not having to move heavy furniture is huge!! I don't think any ill-intent took place, I just think a little more attention to detail and NOT denting up my bed frame in the first place and when I call you out on it, be a man and apologize instead of make excuses and then shun me the rest of the time, would have made my experience perfect. But hey, I have to be honest about the overall experience and I think 4 stars is completely fair. Looking back, I regret not being in the room and hovering over them to make sure they weren't damaging any furniture. I'm just not that type and figured everything was gonna be fine. Lesson learned I guess. But hey, overall I'm happy despite the bed frame etc. and I still tipped them $100 because they deserve it!! They called 10 minutes before arriving, and even showed up early. Once they arrived, they started immediately. Seth, John and Cody were very careful and efficient. Great moving company! Made the reservation over the phone a few weeks ahead of my move. Three guys showed up 15 minutes early and got to work right away. Moving out of a highrise in the middle of summer is difficult work but they did an awesome job. Made sure everything was right where I wanted it in the new apartment. Put together my large furniture very quickly. The wardrobe boxes are a great bonus. All rates and charges were exactly what they said they would be. Paid cash and received the 5% Yelp discount. I'd give zero stars if I could!! I used these guys awhile back when I had to do a double move and had to be out of my condo before my house was ready. I used Reliable Delivery to pack & move all of my stuff into a large storage unit. I was frustrated that they had left some of my stuff behind in the move and then they wouldn't respond to my calls trying to catch them to come right back to help with the items they had forgotten. The worst of it was when I moved from my storage into my house. I used a different moving company, as Reliable Delivery did not prove to be reliable at all. The new movers checked each box in my storage unit before they moved it, as they didn't want to be responsible for items that may already be damaged from the first movers. What we found was astounding. The packers/movers for Reliable Delivery did the worst job ever on packing. For example, I had a large expensive vase. How did these guys pack it? They literally threw one 12"x12" piece of bubble wrap in the box and put the vase in. No other packing material to protect the vase! So you can imagine this didn't fare well in the move. Most of my breakable items were packed this way and were shattered in the move. Much of my furniture was damaged and it was obvious with some items that they had known they had damaged it but tried to hide it in how they packed it my storage unit. Another wonderful thing these guys did was in their labeling of boxes. While it might seem comical to a bystander, labeling many boxes as "Things" and "Stuff" and "Randomness" was less then helpful when I was trying to unpack and find things. I'm not sure if that makes them comedians or complete asses but either way, it was less than professional and I would never ever recommend these guys. **UPDATE** The business has responded (see below) by saying I'm a competitor. I AM NOT A COMPETITOR!! I moved last June and have the paperwork to back it up. I'm happy to dig it up and post the pics to prove I'm a valid customer. We just used Reliable Delivery again to move us from Carlsbad to the SFV. In short, they are the best movers we have ever used (and we move a lot). They arrived exactly on time at 7 AM, quickly and carefully loaded the truck, and then on the other end, unloaded just as efficiently. We didn't have a single damaged item, the guys were friendly and polite, and I just can't get over how fast they were. We were completely done with the move by 11:30 AM. I recently used this company based on their glowing Yelp reviews, and had a very good experience. I was moving from a 2-bedroom apartment to another 2-bedroom, just a few blocks away. Seth, Nate and Daniel showed up exactly when they said they would and were fast, efficient and professional. I was able to get a $10 per hour discount off their hourly rate by paying in cash. I guess the only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the communication wasn't that great when I was setting up the move ... it took them several hours to return my initial phone call, I was then told to just fill out the request for quote on their website and they would get back to me "within 15 to 30 minutes" and that ended up being a couple of hours. No biggie, but I was under a time deadline (I had to move within a week, with very little notice) and I really wanted the reassurance that everything was a go, as soon as I could get it. Everything turned out fine though, and I would definitely recommend the company to others. read more

I used Reliable Delivery to move me from San Diego to Redmond, Oregon. First, they had to move my stuff into their storage facility, then later to a moving truck, then bring my belongings to Oregon. The first time they showed up, I was pleasantly surprised -- there were four clean-cut all American guys, and it was delightful having them as my movers, as they were all very nice and friendly. They actually arrived the same day that I did from San Diego (I was expecting them the next day), so I didn't have to go without my furniture until the next day. I just used this company during my move which involved many large heavy items including a washing machine and a 600 pound desk that required complicated assembly and disassembly! It's unfortunate I'm leaving a negative review because in many ways they did a good job but a lack of communication and "fine print charges" soured the whole experience. If I was given better info earlier, in a clearer manner, I would have used someone else. The Good- showed up on time, friendly and professional, and worked hard. I had a tough move - stairs then an elevator at the new location and a long hike from elevator to the new apartment- so it took 5+ hours. And since I booked the afternoon move it was their second of the day so of course they had a hard days work. The Bad- OVERTIME but more importantly lack of communication/disclosure. Of course many businesses pay their employees overtime after 8 hours, not many pass that on to the customer . You don't pay extra for your dinner because the cook has been there 8.5 hours. Plus the movers are the owner and one younger helper, so the owner might be paying out $25 hr overtime but charging $120. If you book the afternoon move with these guys you are asking for trouble. Because if they arrive at 1 their overtime starts at 4, so you're paying $120+/hr. The owner responded quite condescendingly about how "every business has overtime, you signed the form" (after handing over a $610 bill for a 5 hour move for a 1 bedroom apartment). The disclosure of overtime is in the fine print below where you enter your credit card info and simply says + overtime charges if applicable. That's it, not when it starts. So you're penalized just by booking the afternoon, obviously if you book the morning this wouldn't be an issue. In addition to overtime you will be charged $40 for fuel ( doesn't matter if you live 6 miles away). I was also charged $80 for driving in addition to them already being on the clock time wise, and it was only one trip, so I guess you get charged for them driving to you. Again for a 10 minute drive that seems excessive. If I'm a business owner that wants to avoid angry customers I would do a better job of disclosing fees. If I was aware I had only a 3 hour window to move i would have hired another mover which is possibly the reason they don't tell you upfront. My last move was with Pyramid, you paid the hourly rate and that was it, so it cost LESS THAN HALF of what it did with Reliable Delivery and everything else was comparable. read more

They were truly a pleasure to work with and took great care to ensure my furniture arrived at my new place in great condition. Unlike other movers in my area, Reliable Delivery does not have a minimum cost/hour requirement, which was great since I basically moved to the apartment complex next door. In addition to great work ethic, they were honest. There were no surprises, no hidden costs, and in fact it turned out to be less than I thought because of a discount!! I hired these guys to move me. Everything was done online. They called ahead and arrived on time. We did a complete walk-through of the old house and I gave them directions to the new house. Once they got started, I left for the new house to open it up for them. In the interim, my landlord supervised their packing. Apparently, they stalled at the old house and played my piano in the back of their truck. They also disassembled my chaise and misplaced the bolts to put it back together. They left behind a big box of linens, an 8' x 10' rug and large bookcase together with some items necessary to reassemble furniture. I emailed the owner and he placed the blame on me. A second email about the bolts has gone unanswered. Overall, the cost was quite high (I estimate 2 hours of overcharge) and the delivery was better than mediocre. I would recommend using Reliable only if you are prepared to watch them like a hawk. read more

We decided to get a quote from Reliable Delivery by email. They responded quickly and asked a few questions about the items we wanted to move. We told them 5-bedroom house, washer/dryer, some office furniture that needs to be disassembled. We were quoted 3 guys and one truck with an estimated 6 hours while other movers quoted 4 guys, two trucks and 8 hours. Since we felt we did not have that much stuff we went ahead with Reliable Delivery. The movers showed up on time and called ahead before arrival. It turned out to be a 95°F day so they had to do some pretty good sweating. The crew worked very fast and efficient. They wrapped all the fragile things although I would have liked if they would also wrap some of the furniture itself in blankets. They only left some minor marks on the walls in the old house and were very careful with the new house causing only minimal scratches. It turned out the office furniture and some of the other items we had were very heavy and bulky and it took them some considerable effort to move those items. The crew did a great job carrying those pieces around tight corners without smashing into walls and light fixtures. The only downside was when it turned out that the truck was not big enough. They stuffed as much in it as they could, which caused some minor dings and scratches, but they also had to leave behind a lot of the smaller items. Luckily we did not have to vacate our old house immediately but it required us to go back and bring back several car loads of stuff. Also, the whole move took 8 hours instead of the quoted 6 hrs and required overtime payment. We were surprised that the quote was underestimating our move since we had a 5-bedroom house occupied by only two people. And we already had sold the whole dining room set of table, chairs and hutch, the kitchen table and chairs, and one bedroom didn't even have a bed and the other bedroom only had a couple of bookcases. Daniel should ask more questions about items people have to provide more accurate estimates. Otherwise we were quite satisfied with this company. read more
