Needed to move a 3-bedroom house full of furniture and 80 boxes from Carlsbad to Los Angeles. Although the price was really high, they weren't any more expensive than other companies and I booked then based on their reputation. Hector and a helper were assigned to the job. They were fantastic. Hector has been doing this for over 20 years and it shows. He was efficient, dedicated, on time, and had great communication. I wish all movers were like him. Last time I called a local company and their people were sloppy, inefficient and when they opened the door to their truck, clouds of pot smoke came out. Hector showed me photos he took of how sloppy the local guys had packed the storage unit. When he packed the Allied truck, it was neat and orderly. At the LA house, he prepared everything first by laying down paper and fabric protection so they wouldnt scratch the floors, and he and his helper removed all the plastic from the wrapped furniture after putting it in place. During the whole process, Hector answered all my questions and was glad to move the pieces around until I was satisfied with their placement. After this ecperience, I would gladly use Allied again for my moving needs. read more

Absolutely horrendous.. Long distance move, over 30 items destroyed & shattered. Dealing with this company once they have your money & broke your items, will be an ongoing battle. Owner will not call you back & take accountability even when you have so many items in the boxes that are shattered. Disgusting & unethical business. DO NOT USE ALLIED! They will break your items and then not cover it! I used them to move from San Diego back east, paid extra to have them pack up and unpack my TVs, they broke the screen, and now won't cover it. They immediately denied any liability, even though you can see damage when the TV is off. They are claiming it is "internal" even though the picture clearly shows it is not. They were by far the most expensive, but I booked with them thinking it would be quality service. Boy was I wrong. My rep quit just days before I was supposed to move and scheduled me for the wrong move date. They were able to figure it out after a ton of back and fourth, but now I am wishing I used someone else. You are better off renting a U Haul and moving yourself. You'll save a ton of money and not have broken items. Shame on you Allied and Atlas!! read more

The boxes were opened by movers, and items thrown in with others -- some of which belonged at storage facility or our son's apartment--and sloppily retaped and not relabeled. This company was so professional and accommodating, from the person who called to schedule the appointment for our estimate to the load-up. The girl called within minutes to schedule the appointment, while the 2 other companies I requested estimates from never even bothered to call me. Trevor came out to do the estimate, and he took the time to explain everything in detail, then came back to bring wardrobe boxes, saving us over a hundred dollars. The guys who came and loaded the truck were all really friendly and polite. They worked their butts off all day and even made small repairs to a couple of our things to make sure they would make it to their destination in good shape. I would give negative millions of stars if I could! Their slogan should be 'WHAT WE DON'T STEAL, WE BREAK." Worst company, hires men off the street to move you and they steal what they want when you aren't looking. When you report your items damaged or missing (in our case a large box of our items went missing) they don't want to reimburse you according to the contract. They unpacked some of our boxes and shoved things in random spots which broke a number of items. They stole my husbands tools, artwork, stained glass, and far t0o many items to list. Kyle delivered furniture to three family members homes all over San Diego county. He did an amazing job! We all agree he was very careful with our antiques, unloading and bringing them to our homes. This review has nothing to do with the ability to provide service and everything to do with the way Allied and Coleman American Moving Services (the company they contracted the work to). My close friend is in the middle of a very stressful move back to the Midwest and had reached out to Allied to have them move her across the country. She secured a quote and an appointment to have someone come and look at what all needed to be moved. First, her appointment was rescheduled twice. Then when she finally did talk to someone who identified himself as "John with Allied", he proceeded to provide the worst service imaginable. I get that moving from the West Coast right now is hard due to the number of people doing the same thing but after being rescheduled twice, she received a text that simply said they were booked for the month and to call if she still wanted to talk. When she called, he proceeded to just tell her how booked they were and that the people she talked to were on the East Coast and have no clue what they are dealing with out here. I also called Allied to give them a chance to fix this and was told I would receive a call back after they contacted the contracted company and never heard back. That is completely unprofessional and is horrible customer service. If you are planning a move, I highly recommend looking elsewhere for a moving company! read more

Hector and crew were very organized, on-time, Covid prepared with sanitizers and masks, careful with our stuff, quick to help me search for high-value items that had been mislabeled and packed poorly in NJ, and incredibly friendly. After delivering to the storage unit and doing an amazing job with what I can only call Tetris with the boxes, they brought additional boxes to my home as well, putting down protection to avoid any damage to the floor and walls inside. They are definitely people I'm going to request for again when we bring the storage boxes up to the house in the future!!! They exceeded our expectations by a long shot!!! read more

I have moved over 20 times for n my life and allied van lines by far was the worst!! Broken glass frames lost boxes no dishes and God knows what else is missing! Go with a different company and organize your own loading and off-load! Definitely not worth the money! Set high expectations that they DID NOT fulfill! We had extremely high hopes for doing a long distance move with Allied, especially with the high expectations set by our sales rep Ashley. Unfortunately, after a decent start to the move, the unloading process was a disaster. There was no unloading "team", just a driver who was not at all in the shape to be moving heavy items, and one local worker who Allied screwed over in payment after a long day. My wife, myself, and my sister-in-law all have back issues, but we absolutely had to take charge of unloading to make sure it got done in a day and in a safe manner, especially with protecting our belongings from damage during unloading and storage. Since that time, I have reached out to Allied on numerous occasions to request information about what happened and how we did not get the service we paid for. In two months, not one person has reached out to us. After finally calling customer service and getting through the first layer, I was hung up on EVERY TIME!!! Still no one has called back. This company so far is a big cheat, and once they got their money, there is no more customer service to be had. We paid a significant amount more thinking we would get the service we were promised, but it did not happen. We also have not gotten any response as to how much they charged us based on their weight "estimate". We've had no proof as to how much our belongings actually weighed, which is super shady. read more

Ask for Alex Hunter - she's great and very informative. Ask for driver Juan Vallejo who is very hardworking, pleasant, and went above and beyond. Crew out from San Diego with Juan were Bobby, Victor and Corey - also great! They worked as a team and were very efficient. Service with a smile from everyone - important at such a stressful time. Only hiccup was unloading crew in Phoenix which were pretty bad - didn't put beds/dressers/mirrors together right; couple of missing washers lying on floors, smart tv in box shoved next to shower in bath then tons of boxes after that so room blocked - all with stuff not meant for that room(s). We had a lot of lifting and moving again after they left. Crew lacked communication skills and inability to take direction. First off this review is mainly for the scam that the company has created. This is not a rating for the hard working men that moved us. We received a quote from Allied and decided to proceed in using them for our move. They helped pack the remainder of what I wasn't able to pack. The men who showed up where respectful, hardworking and a pleasure to have around. They worked non stop to get the job done. On the actual day of the move, their work ethic remained the same. Focused and determined to get the job done. So thanks to those men I am giving Allied two stars. The disappointment came when it was time to unpack our house. As I began unpacking boxes I noticed tons and tons of paper. Things made of plastic that were very hard to break being wrapped in 8-10 sheets of paper. Towels being wrapped in paper. It quickly became obvious to me that the reason we needed a second truck for our move and why we had so many boxes was because they used obscene amounts of paper to wrap our belongings in. Opening a box that was 2x3 cubic feet and only contained 5 spatulas and a few glasses and the rest was all paper was my breaking point and when I decided to warn everyone about this company. BTW... our final bill ended up being double what our estimate was. We were charged for 330 boxes when 250 would have done the job just fine. Charging by the box and asking your movers to use so much paper to fill the boxes, is clearly a scam to me. Wrapping bath towels and kitchen towels in multiple sheets of paper is clearly unnecessary. If I ever use this company again, it will be strictly to move us, not to pack us. I will never hire them to help with the packing. We started our move in Washington state, where the moving company Spaeth helped us out with packing and loading the container that would travel by train to our new home in SanDiego. Once we got to our new home, Allied was responsible for tracking and delivering the package. OUR SHIPMENT IS OVER A WEEK LATE, they've had our things for 3 weeks. We called multiple times to see where our stuff is and the lady named Dona was very unsympathetic and was not very helpful. We have to stay in a hotel because we don't have any beds and we have to eat out every night because we can't make our own food. We called to see if they would compensate us for these unexpected expenses, and she only wants to compensate half of our food expenses and only one hotel room even though we have a family of 6 and could never fit into a single hotel room. We found the cheapest hotel room and we don't eat at expensive restaurants, we're not trying to take advantage. We simply don't have many other options. They still don't know where our shipping container is and don't have an ETA.The family is very nervous that our shipment has been lost. Be wary of this moving company. They still expect us to pay full price. read more

Finally found the time to do this - several months later. Get everything in writing as how you want it shipped. Moved west to east coast. Major hiccups in shipping. Allied Disassembled riding lawn mower. Has not worked right in cutting since then. Allied opened up hanging clothes boxes and shoved in heavy boxes to make room and retapped - all clothes need to be ironed and I mean All. WTH. Not my problem that Allied ran out of truck space. So, get things you want shipped Exactly in writing with penalties if not followed. Lesson learned read more

Ten days ago, I wrote a glowing review about Captain Tyler and his crew. They did a fantastic job. Fast forward to today--we were just informed that our belongings are still in the warehouse in CA and won't be shipped for another 2-3 days-a total of13 days since they were picked up. We've been in FL for almost a week. Someone had to know the move went sideways. But, they never told us. That is inexcusable. $100/day reimbursement doesn't begin to cover all the meals we've had to eat out, the discomfort of sleeping on a blowup bed, having to sit on borrowed canvas camping chairs or the sheer aggravation of not having clothes, furniture or any other personal possessions. We had full faith in Allied to do a bang up job, but in the end, we were the ones who took the beating! read more

My experience with this office of Allied Van Lines was fantastic. Traci McCormick was incredibly kind, helpful, and professional right from the beginning. Our move was only a few pieces of furniture and several boxes of items we cherish from my mom, who had passed. Traci offered compassion in the circumstances and provided information and flexibility to meet our schedule and needs. We needed items delivered to 2 addresses half way across the country and that was not a problem at all. On moving day, Brian and Jo Jo showed up on time and swiftly and professionally loaded the shuttle truck with the furniture and boxes, including a very heavy and old upright piano. They also stated the hide a bed was the heaviest they'd ever encountered, but there were no complaints. Only smiles, friendliness, and efficiency. They packed specialty items for us, asked question for clarification, and were very customer service oriented - just like Traci was. Everything was loaded safely on the truck, documents were signed, and their job was completed. I felt confident that everything was safe. Upon delivery unfortunately, we've had some issues with a few damaged items. However, Matt Miller in the claims department responded immediately to me and quickly explained the claims process and promptly emailed the appropriate documents to complete. We're processing the claim now. While disappointing to have some things damaged, my point in this review is to state that most of the people I've worked with have been VERY customer-service oriented, which is rare in these days. We moved from San Diego to Phoenix and selected Allied based on the many positive reviews on Yelp. Alex was our consultant, Jerilyn our move coordinator, and Chad our lead mover/driver. We have moved more than half a dozen times (three times cross-country) and this, by far, was our smoothest and most stress-free moving experience. The move teams in both San Diego and Phoenix were courteous, professional, and careful during the entire packing, loading, and unloading process. Special pieces received special attention. I especially want to acknowledge Jerilyn for dealing with a potential last minute change in delivery schedule and Chad who orchestrated the loading and unloading process with energy and poise. Just completed a cross country move from San Diego to Boston and used Allied. The price was by far the lowest of any of the competitors and salesman Jerry Cooper was always quick to return calls and answer questions to meet our needs. The movers were on-time and professional and seeing how well they packed our breakables was extremely reassuring. Our Driver, Brian Medina, was also outstanding. If you go with Allied definitely ask for Brian. He met the deadlines he promised and treated all of our belongings as if they were his own. Moving cross country is incredibly stressful. After a very painful move with Allied since day one, with missing items an half of our furniture damaged, we are still waiting for a response on the insurance claim resolution. At the beginning we were told a company will arrive to fix some of the furniture and then we will settle for the rest. Its been almost six months since our move and we are still waiting for a call or an email informing when all this will be fix, instead they are not contacting us anymore and basically they are ignoring us now. This is very unsettling and distressful, and the lack of professionalism is just appalling. Its amazing that these companies charge you big amounts of money on insurance and then they just forget about it, sounds like a scam to us. This company was recommended to us by friends that works in multinationals like Exxon, but after this experience we will make sure they know what type of companies they are dealing with. read more

If I could I would give these people no stars. Mr. Largey showed up and was rude and dishonest, we have used this company 4 times before and were always treated with honesty. We had less weight than when we move d to San Diego and yet he insisted that we had over 2000 lbs more. He was rude by his manner and the fact that we were comparison shopping.
