I would like to share & revise my original review about of this dealership. On 4/30 we went to find a different car thanks to Mother Nature's hailstorm rampage on 4/28 as many others experienced! It took out our former vehicle quite well, sarcastically speaking of course! Well we had a great salesman named Cody G. who was very kind, patient & professional! He found this beautiful vehicle a red 2023 GMC Terrain. Through our lengthy visit we finally signed all the paperwork & drove out in our new vehicle. Well here is the part that threw us for a loop. As basically a newby to the car buying process there were not enough questions asked on our part unfortunately. After being brought to our attention, I asked if the sales tax was included in the purchase price and unfortunately it was not. Well I went off the deep end as to the amount and being on an extremely tight budget we had no way to pay it. I felt beyond betrayed as I felt that this information should have been shared with us. Due to this experience I wrote my original scathing review. My review was seen by the dealership as they brought in a Customer Service Relationship Manager by the name of Andrew Snyder. To keep the story in an abbreviated manner there were many calls back and forth. So between us and the dealership who was very determined to repair this relationship and a deal was struck. We were given some assistance to help pay the sales tax as we absolutely had no $ to make it happen. The reason for the help is due to my husband who is 100% disabled & on SSDI as well as myself who is also on SSDI & only working very PT hours. So Andrew and others went above and beyond and went to the mat with the owner and made a miracle happen to help us keep this beautiful . So we are thoroughly pleased and grateful for the help we were given. So a BIG shout out to Andrew first and foremost along with others to truly repair this relationship. So to wrap this up, Andrew's title as a CS Relationship Manager is a very well deserved title. Thanks to all who played a part in our experience. I think it was a learning experience for all. My 2016 Chevrolet Equinox started pouring gas out all over the road so someone waved me down. I had my vehicle taken to a Meineke repair center at first. Because it was just 14 days outside of the 10-year / 150,000 mi warranty, I was told to ask for a Goodwill discount from GM. My vehicle only had 53,000 mi on it so was far under the 150,000 mi and then for it to just be 14 days outside of the warranty when there was a manufacturer issue that led to a TPM because they installed the fuel hose underneath the gas tank, which not only makes it more expensive to repair because they have to take out the entire gas tank to replace a hose, but it wears a hole in the hose. They were aware of this issue and had it notify people. So mine was just 14 days out and they said when I talk to them that they would do a goodwill discount but I would need to have it taken to a Chevrolet or GM repair center so that they can make sure that was the issue. So I had it towed to the "Reliable Chevrolet". They said that they were busy so they would work it in whenever they had an opening but it might be until a week later that they could work on it. So I called back a week later to see what the status was. They couldn't find my vehicle. They never bothered to register it in their system despite knowing it was coming and the tow company giving them the keys to the vehicle and it being on their lot. After denying they had it for a while, they finally found it. So they do the diagnostic and charge me like $200 for that but said it would go towards the cost of repairs, which was to be covered by the GM Goodwill discount. GM says that they were going to call once the diagnostic was done. Waited over 24 hours and they still hadn't called. Finally, they do call and say they're doing $0 coverage and their estimate was $400 more than Meineke was. They offer to knock the price down $200 if I get the repair there, but they won't let me take my car without paying their $200 diagnostic fee. Meineke didn't even charge me a diagnostic fee because they found the problem so fast but they didn't charge me anything for it. So they tell me it's going to be about $700 with the discount and then send me the forms to sign to authorize it, but the form show $880. They charged some $95 shop fee as well. They agreed to waive that, but then don't update the estimate to show that they were actually going to delete it. They have basically guaranteed I am never going to buy a Chevrolet again, any GM, and I'm certainly never taking it back to repair at any location of theirs ever. Update: watch them pretend to care in the comments but they did absolutely nothing to actually help fix the issue. They're extremely disingenuous and saying that only to make others seeing the reviews think they care. They don't. read more

On October 34th, 2025 I bought my daughter a new 2026 Chevy Equinox. Going over the pricing with my salesman I noticed a line-item Dealer Added Accessories for $1,190.00. I asked what this was for and was told it is for [the Club Plus Plana d for window tinting.] I called Glass Tint USA here in Springfield and they tinty two windows for $100.00 and you can purchase the door edge guards for $15.00 on the internet. Reliable is charging me $299, almost $200.00 profit for the dealership. It was stated in very very very small print at the bottom of the form what the charge is for. If I would not have asked what it was for the salesman would have never told me what it was for. I think this line item was not added by the salesman but by the Sales Mayans the General Manager at Reliable. This is just another way for Reliable to squeeze more profit from YOU. Lots of extra profit. If you have purchased a vehicle from Reliable in the past few years, go back and check your work up agreement. If the salesman didn't explain it to you ask for your money back, Tje Federal Trafe Commission states cust aren't required to pay for Dealer Add-ons if they don't want them. If you don't have your paperwork go back to Reliable and they can show you your copy. Jn my opinion this is a very Deceptive sales practice. As they are thanking you for purchase Reliable has there hang in your back wallet taking out hundreds of extra dollars for there PROFIT. read more

Literally go to Marshfield Chevy or anywhere else for that matter. They installed an alternator in my car and left a cable loose. Incompetent techs to say the least. Run Away!!! I called made an appointment to get a replacement key fab and an oil change for my 2024 2500HD High Country Silverado. I had already called the warranty company and got approval with a link for any service advisor to follow and file the claim. I explained that during the call my appointment was at 11:00am, I checked in at 10:40 with Kevin. He immediately had a negative attitude, I asked how long we were looking at no answer, I suggested about 2 hours he said more like 4-6. I said with an appointment he just ignored me, I should have left then. Three hours later I went to check on it, he said it was done just paperwork. I went to go get my wife from waiting area. He never intended to do the new fab I am certain, when I went back out he was on the phone supposedly with the warranty company hung up and said if we wanted that done it would take another 2 hours at least. They had already pulled my truck around so that tells me he never intended to do the fab. I will never go back and I will tell everyone run away. They did the oil change but I could have done that or went anywhere and been done in 30 mins. They left oil on the filter so not even sure it was done right. Service department, advisors, service director, and GM all can't be trusted or keep their word. From DealerRating where I posted a review Took my sons truck there, 2013 silverado with 145,000 miles. It all the sudden wouldn't start one day. He cranked it a lot, next day we checked fuel pressure, ignition spark, and noid lights to all injectors to insure we had fuel getting through injectors. 2nd morning cranked some more, finally held petal to floor and it started like a flooded vehicle. Drove truck for 1 mile, got a low oil pressure alarm to shut off engine. Restarted would have 40 psi and go back down to 20 and then 0 after about a mile. Got it to dealer and dropped it off, giving service manager very detailed info, including that it had 45 psi oil pressure when vehicle was shut down prior to not starting, and what we had done. Diagnostic was that engine was worn out, bearings were worn out, and it needed new engine at $11,000. Told them that doesn't makes sense as it had great pressure the night before it wouldn't start and engine bearings don't wear out shut off parked overnight. Service advisor would not let me talk directly to mechanic, I asked certainly could be other issues, worn oil pump, pick up tube O-ring, faulty oil pressure sensor. He went back talked to the mechanic and came back said my Cam bearings were worn and one had a flat spot. I asked where his crystal ball was, cause that was flat out guessing. While waiting for my them to finish my paperwork and charge me $170 I got to thinking. How much fuel had gotten pumped into the cylinders during the cranking and how much washed down past the rings into the oil in those two nights of sitting, diluting the oil viscosity. Pulled the dipstick right outside their service door and oil was very thin. Took it directly to Valvoline oil change, showed low oil pressure again on the way and had to shut it off. Changed oil and now have 28 psi pressure on idle and 40 plus while driving again, been driving truck for 4 days now with great pressure again. Gear drive oil pumps need viscosity to pump efficiently. Texted the service advisor that I should be refunded the diag fee, no response. Left phone message for service director and request to be called back, no response. Stranded at Bucee's in route from Stl to Branson and a very kind, off duty mechanic from Reliable Chevrolet spent over and hour helping us get our truck started. We drove it to their shop at night and they expedited repair service the next business day, installing a new starter, and other items, completing them before we had to return home. The next morning the dealership emailed us a clearly detailed list of items needing repair, the mechanic called me directly, sending pictures of the bad parts vs new part image. Thanks to Reliable Chevrolet we were able to get our truck repaired while on vacation and before we were all scheduled to return home. We will forever be grateful for the excellent service. read more

I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with a dealership under the Reliable umbrella. They knowingly sold me a faulty car with existing mechanical issues, despite assuring me it was in good condition and the service reports not stating the issues. What makes this even worse is that I was pregnant, and they had no problem putting me in an unsafe vehicle. Shortly after purchasing the car, I started experiencing major issues that should have been disclosed beforehand. When we went back to the dealership to try and have them make things right, they flat-out refused to take any responsibility, telling us that we had purchased a used and, quote, "old" car and that they would not be doing anything to help. Instead, they told us we would have to pay $2,500 out of pocket to get the vehicle serviced and fixed--something that should never have been necessary in the first place had they been honest about its condition. Now we will be driving a newborn and toddler in a vehicle with no AC. Selling a defective vehicle to anyone is unacceptable, but knowingly doing so to a pregnant woman is just beyond unethical. This dealership clearly prioritizes making a quick sale over customer safety and honesty. I would strongly advise anyone to stay far away from this dealership and think twice before trusting any location under the Reliable name. I purchased a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid from Reliable Chevrolet in February 2025. Just over a month later, I took it to a certified dealership for a check engine light and was shocked to learn that the entire undercarriage was severely damaged. The underbelly was nearly torn off. I was provided clear photo documentation and a repair estimate for the damage. When I brought this to Reliable Chevrolet's attention, I was told I "must have run something over" an absurd claim, considering how obvious and serious this damage is. I was then offered two unacceptable "solutions": 1. Trade the van in for another vehicle from their lot (why would I do that after this experience?), or 2. Let their own mechanics repair the damage, the same mechanics who failed to catch it during their inspection. To make matters worse, the General Sales Manager accused the certified dealership of being dishonest, which is completely unprofessional. Even after the General Manager was made aware of the situation, nothing was done to resolve it. This isn't just about the money, it's about accountability. Reliable Chevrolet chose to deflect and blame instead of standing behind what they sold. I will try to make this as short and concise as possible. My Silverado was involved in a rear-end collision and was knocked into the vehicle ahead of me so there was damage in the front and the back. Took it to Reliable Chevrolet body shop in Springfield, Missouri. They had it four weeks and I practically had to demand they release my truck. When I obtained my truck it was raining so I didn't get a good look at the work. Over the next couple of days I realized there was some minor damage that was missed and heavy paint build up/run/sag along the edge of the wheel well. There was also two chips in the paint that were not there before and the chips had been painted over. I also noticed the repair invoice showed my truck completed 10 days before it was released to me. 10 days! I took it back. The shop manager agreed the overlooked damage and the bad paint was on them but insisted the chips were pre-existing. They were not! Period! I got a half assed agreement to fix the chips if they couldn't buff the bad paint out and needed to sand and repaint. We made arrangements to return my truck to Chevy for further work. After a week had gone by and I hadn't heard anything I decided to drop by one morning. There sat my truck on their lot. I'm asking myself why they hadn't even started on it so I pull up next to my truck, get out of the rental and realize they actually had worked on it. The missed damage was repaired and the bad paint was 99% gone (I'm a commercial painter by trade. I will see small imperfections most people won't). The chips, of course, had not been touched. If they were done with my truck why hadn't I been called? Why was my truck just sitting there? Instead of going into the office I decide to go home and make a phone call. I got the shop manager's voice mail and left a message asking for an update on my truck. Two hours later he returns my call and I let it go to voice mail. He proceeded to lie through his teeth. He claimed my truck was still in the paint department (remember I had just seen it two hours earlier sitting out on their lot), it was still being worked on and they should be able to reassemble the bed, bumper and everything else the next day ( It wasn't disassembled! It was sitting out on their lot!). He would call me when it was ready. I didn't call him back and call him out on his lie because maybe they had pulled the truck back in and were working on those chips in the paint. The next day he called and again I let it go to voice mail. He claimed they had tried to touch up those chips but since he only agreed to fix them if he had to sand the bad paint and repaint they could only do so much. He said they looked better but they could still be seen a little bit. When I picked up my truck later that day it was obvious he lied again. Nothing had been done to the chips in the paint that his workers caused. Absolutely nothing! Wow, just efing wow! Holds my truck for ten days after it was done the first time. Holds it for who knows how long the second time. Won't take responsibility for his workers screw up. Blatantly lies to me. In a recording no less. Wow, just efing wow! Yeah, nope! When we purchased our truck, we agreed to pay the $37,000 for an accident free vehicle. When the employee took the truck to fill the gas tank before we left, he damaged it. It was still drivable but it was significant damage. Reliable is fixing the truck on their dime as expected. However, the employee greatly devalued the truck by wrecking it. According to Kelly Blue Book, the value between an accident free Silverado and one that had been in an accident is about a $3500 difference. In addition to fixing the damage, we should get that cost difference back in some form. We are paying for an accident free truck but that's not what we were given. I've contacted the dealership and General Manager James Corlew about remedying this and have yet to hear anything back from either one. I will take this as far up as I need to get this difference back. read more

First let me state that I am 61 years old and normally purchase my vehicles in St. Louis or KC. I seem to get better deals and better service. I found a car on Reliable's website and immediately called the dealer. Spoke to a salesman named Michael about the vehicle. It was 10:38am when the call took place. Told them to hold the car and I would be there by noon to purchase and pickup. In the meantime, I received a call from the Internet manager and sales manager thanking me for reaching out and verifying my visit. Fast forward, I arrive at noon, the vehicle is pulled up front and appears ready to go. I go in and immediately told it has been sold already. Michael gave me a simple I'm sorry and that someone should have called me. Well....no one called. I left and called the sales manager (Jordan or Justin) and was told "we were busy, and we should have offered you the option of putting a down payment over the phone but that wouldn't be fair to the customers in the building". I stated, "how about a call to at least save me the time of driving over". How about offering a different vehicle or put forth some sort of effort. Wow. As I mentioned I normally shop out of Springfield but because of health and time constraints I thought I would give Reliable one more opportunity. They showed me what they always have shown me when I have tried them in the past, a dealership that doesn't truly understand customer service or cares about people. On a happy note, I found a better deal that saves me almost 2k in total, and yes, it is in St. Louis! read more

I was selling a car for an older relative this week on Marketplace. I was very careful when writing the ad to disclose that the vehicle had been wrecked and repaired and then had been further damaged. I included pics of every damaged spot. One of Reliable's salesmen responded to my ad claiming to wanting to purchase it for the dealership. I told him I wasnt comfortable driving 45 minutes to Springfield without any offer so he made an offer with a deadline, I agreed to the offer and had the car there the next day on time. He then proceeded to pick apart the damaged area's pictured on the ad and asked "has this been in an accident". When I confronted him about the details and pictures I had posted in my ad he acted like he had not even seen them. I wasnt even sticking around for what was to come next. "Cant give you what I agreed to but can give you this" No honesty with this one! read more

I bought a 2018 SS Camaro with just 23000 miles on it from these guys in December of 2018. In less than one year, I'm on my 4th set of rear tires. Apparently the car has been in a wreck, (which did not show up on car fax) and the rear cannot be be aligned to GM specifications. I took in to a different dealer and was told this car should have never been certified, and that it is dangerous for anyone to drive it and a danger to everyone else on the road. Now I have a car that can't be aligned, and they told me my best option would be to trade it in back to them. (Why? So u can give this car to someone else in this dangerous condition?) I filed a claim with GM, and I'm still waiting for a solution to unfold. Till then, I'm stuck with a dangerous vehicle that's costing me $500 a month. read more

I replaced a wheel sensor, on my corvette. I had to bring my car in to have the sensor programmed and retrained. When I got my car back they said I needed all new wheel sensors because they could not read any of them. None of my wheel readings were showing on the dash. I came back home and retrained my sensors using a magnet. All readings are again showing, except for the one I replaced. They wanted over 500.00 for all new sensors. I find it bad when the person with the scanner tool couldn't diagnose this issue plus lost all original readings to make it look like I needed all new sensors. Felt like someone was trying to make quick and easy money for the sale of sensors. The person with scan tool should have been able to do the job, Instead I got my wheels retrained by myself using a magnet. I didn't need all new sensors! I would have another opinion before you go to this dealership and have some idea, before hand, what the issue is. They can tell you anything if your none the wiser. I've worked on my vette for over 24 years and know my car. I could have taught them how to retrain my sensors with a magnet. Get advice before going to Reliable because believe me they are not reliable at all! read more

We purchased a new but used car at Reliable about a month ago. The experience was as you would expect. After a test drive a note for the sales man to "call his wife"... them telling us that another couple was waiting to test drive the same vehicle we were looking at so if we wanted it we should act now... etc etc. here's the thing... we would have still gotten the car without the stupid tactics and to be honest, it just makes me distrust the sales guy. I am not dumb, my grandfather sold cars. I know all the tricks. I told the guy I wanted the car - he should have stopped there. (to be honest I was satisfied with the price I got, and I love my new vehicle) Fast forward two weeks. My low tire sensor came on. Since they fill the tires with nitrogen and offer air ups for free due to my employer I went back to have it checked. Took over half an hour for them to put air in the tire. Annoying, but hey they were busy. Two weeks later sensor comes on again... I was there for over an HOUR today. This time they tell me there is a nail in the tire. When I expressed my frustration that they didn't catch it last time and have effectively wasted my time he seemed totally unsympathetic. He could have saved the whole situation for me with a simple apology. "I'm sorry we missed that last time" or "I'm sorry we missed that last time, let me offer you a discount on your next oil change" would have taken it from a totally negative experience to a positive one. I know you guys are busy... I know that you sell a crapton of cars and probably don't care what one person thinks... but I will tell you that bad customer service gets more lip service than good. read more

Well, such an unfortunate set of circumstances happen today at Reliable. Ready to buy my new Cruze today with my own money. No financing was necessary. Was getting everything in order and the salesman runs a soft credit check without me knowing or getting permission. I have to say it was very disappointing that I had been deceived by the salesman and he took it upon himself to run my credit without telling me. Called the manager up and he kept blaming me over the issue and said that I have mistrust. Lol. After my credit was ran without me knowing, I wonder why I have mistrust. Lol. Well, I stood up and decided to walk out because of the deception. They said it was for one thing and ended up doing another. I will have to call the credit bureaus and tell them that check wasn't authorized to see if the soft check can be taken off. Needless to say, is all they had to do was come to an agreement with me on a price and the money would have been transferred and I would have had my new car today and the salesman would have had his commission. But, they decided to be deceptive and do things behind my back. I guess it's the nature of their business but I won't reward them and buy from them now. read more

They always do a good job but it's pretty expensive. The prices just went up even more. Every time I make an appointment they never get me in on time. I would never recommend this business to anyone. The salesman who I dealt with, Daniel Smith, is a liar and should be fired. Due to being mislead, my credit score was negatively impacted. I parked at the lot and within ten seconds was approached by a salesman who asked me to come inside to help me find what I am looking for. I told him immediately that I was not looking to buy and that was instead trying to look at different models. I told him my general wants and my financial requirements. He shows me a vehicle that is far over my maximum, by about 40%. I tell him that I don't even want to take it on the highway and that I want to look at different vehicles because the car was too expensive. He tells me we can look at others but asks if I want to get the trade in value on my car, which I agree to. Instead of showing me new vehicles, he tried to talk me into financing the car that I did not want. He asks if he can check my credit, and tells me that it won't be a hard inquiry (This is a lie, and I wouldn't have agreed if I knew). He did not show me my trade in value until showing me loan options, at which point I reiterated that the vehicle was outside of my price range and I would not purchase it. After I realized that I was not going to be shown any other vehicles, I told him that I was going to leave and he said "Please, let me try one last thing" and returned with the Finance Officer. I declined the offer proposed and left. A few days later, I get an email from one of my credit monitoring dashboard that stated that I had a hard inquiry from Reliable Chevrolet. I call their finance office to find out that the new salesman claimed that I was saying that I "wanted to buy that car today". Not only did the salesman lie to me, but his coworkers as well, assuming that the employee on the phone was being truthful. I was told that the salesman would be talked to, but not punished. I was also told that they would do nothing to remove the hard credit inquiry that I was misled into signing. read more

Went in hoping to get a new Traverse, I have a wife and 4 kids so 3rd row seating is a must. Best they could do was a 2016 Kia that was in "great shape". 5 seats. They don't even take anything you say into consideration, just worried about making that money. Anyway next day I check the oil, 4 quarts low. Shitty, but whatever I've heard of this happening. Haven't made 4 payments on it and I've had to put more oil in it so nope. Theres a leak somewhere. And I have a cylinder 3 misfire as well. Should've kept my shitty Ford Focus. Highly encourage anybody and everybody to go ANYWHERE ELSE. These guys will fuck you and take your money faster than a prostitute. read more

Where do I even start. I purchased a truck from these guys in October and it was a mess for over a month trying to get paperwork to register the truck. They gave me a 60 day tag and said I was good to go for 60 days... wrong I got charged at the DMV for registering the truck after 30 days even though they told me I had 60 days. Nobody will call you back not even the general manager. A day after I bought it there was a rain storm and obviously when they serviced the truck they didn't think to look at the wiper blades so I had to replace them because you couldn't even see through the windshield they were so bad. I pulled the cabin air filter out and it looks as though it hadn't been changed in years. They do not look over vehicles very well. They kept promising one thing and ghosting me about the situation. Absolutely great service. From meeting with Lucas for test drives to meeting with Michael J. to go over and complete the paperwork, extremely friendly experience. That's not to mention all the staff that were solid gentlemen. Walked out the door with two cars on a Tuesday. Wednesday went back to re-sign. Thursday went back to re-sign a second time. Why? The staff at Reliable got a better interest rate (2nd signing) and then helped us work some financial magic (3rd signing). In short, their service didn't end when we drove off the lot. The service department is terrible! Spent nearly 10 hours, TEN HOURS, over the course of 2 days, sitting in the waiting area, waiting on a repair that was supposed to be "just a couple of hours". The first two to three hours of my first visit was spent diagnosing the issue, which ended up being a single thermostat housing issue. The next three hours was spent fighting me, and the dealership I bought the car from, on warranty coverage. They refused to accept my warranty coverage of the repair evwn though it was clearly losted in the details. My hometown dealer ended up covering my bill by credit card because Reliable really wanted somebody to pay for this warranty covered repair out of pocket. By the time the payment was sorted out it was too late in the day to actually complete the repair, so I waited around for almost another hour, until after closing time, until someone finally handed me the keys to my car. I brought the car back in the next day to actually get the repair done, again "should only be an hour or two". This time I sat in the waiting room for another 3+ hours. Finally my service tech simply walked up to me, handed me the keys and said goodbye. Not once did anyone apologize to me for how long it was taking or offer me anything other than cheap free coffee. I can guarantee I will never be getting my car serviced at this place again. I'd rather pay for repairs somewhere else, out of pocket, than fight these crooks on warranty repairs. read more

I brought my Corvette in to be serviced. I told the technician that I noticed it had two certain issues. He then says it has multiple others simply by pulling my vehicle forward six feet. They then wanted to charge me over $8,000 and didn't even address the issues I mentioned! I told them the rear passenger tire kept going low and they checked the two front ones!! So, I brought it up the road to a place that has been in business since 1996 and has a 5 star rating! Exceptional owner and honesty from the start! Reliable Chevrolet on the other hand should be drove out of this city. They are a stain on Springfield, Mo. read more
