Horrible Experience - Avoid This Place!! I went to Relax Spa through a ClassPass booking for a Swedish massage, and it turned out to be one of the worst experiences I've ever had. As soon as I walked in, the masseuse immediately tried to upsell me to a deep tissue massage for an additional $15, insisting that the Swedish massage would be too light and not firm enough. Despite my previous experiences with Swedish massages being both firm and gentle, she continued to pressure me into paying more. She even called her manager to upsell the deep tissue service. Reluctantly, I agreed to proceed with the Swedish massage I had initially booked. The massage room itself was dark, dingy, and unwelcoming. Once the massage started, it was clear that she was merely rubbing my back without any real technique or pressure. When I inquired if this was how the entire massage would be, she confirmed it. Frustrated, I agreed to pay the extra $15 for a deep tissue massage. To make matters worse, the massage was repeatedly interrupted. Her manager barged in at least twice, yelling at her in Chinese, which was extremely unprofessional and unsettling. At one point, the masseuse even left the room because she felt hot, only to return a few minutes later. Despite my specific requests to focus on my feet, ankles, upper back, and shoulders, she spent 60 minutes solely on my back. The final straw came when her manager rudely interrupted us again, accusing me of only booking a 60-minute massage and demanding the session end immediately. Even though the masseuse had initially confirmed a 90-minute session, the manager insisted it was my mistake and refused to complete the massage. We argued for 10 minutes, but she was adamant that the session had to stop, leaving my massage unfinished and my pain points untouched. Despite telling her I was an angry customer she didn't do anything to make me feel better but offered free 15 mins for next time. Unfortunately I will never be returning here and would advise you all to steer away. This was supposed to be a relaxing experience 3 week postpartum, but I left feeling furious, frustrated, and more stressed than before. The customer service was atrocious, and the entire experience was far from professional or relaxing. I strongly advise against visiting Relax spa. They clearly do not prioritize their customers' needs or provide the quality of service they advertise. Worst quality. Worst service. Avoid. Confirmed price over the phone was $70 each for couples massage. It was assumed "Swedish" since that seemed to be the price point of $70. We were never asked what kind of massage we wanted. Okay. Payment rolls around and the total is $160. We were charged for deep tissue ($85-$5 for being new customers). Meaning, deep tissue.. not lazy, weak, and yawning while rubbing a spot of my body that seemed to be a Swedish. The lady yawned at least 12-15 times. I lost count. (You're tired, I understand, but this is also not the cheapest place around, prove your worth). Had to request "stronger" twice and still had weak/lazy rubbing. Worst quality ever... THEN, at check out, while discussing the miscommunication of Swedish v Deep Tissue...the lady goes on to YELL in Chinese before demanding her tip and calling her boss to explain what happened (in Chinese). The masseuse demanded her tip for her "service." Absolutely awful. Awful. Avoid. This type of "business" thinks they can park themselves in the middle of Ashburn and gauge the demographic that works hard for their money. Absolutely NOT WORTH YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Even if you've got the money, not worth the value. At all. $85 for a "deep tissue" better be good. POOR. read more

I was waiting for my daughter's dance lessons to be over and thought to get a massage from this establishment Relax Spa. On the front door gives an Early Bird 20% off special, if you're there before 12 noon. It's also an 10% discount Early Bird special on the website as well. I initially asked for an hour, but then when the buzzer went off after my hour , I asked for an extra half hour so he could focus on my head,neck and shoulders. He massage my neck and shoulders for maybe 3 minutes and then went back to my back and legs..... Why??? I asked for my head, neck and shoulders for an extra half hour. The whole massage was suppose to be Swedish but it HURT!!! and I kept saying... Sir that hurts....to no avail. I Do Not recommend ANYONE to go there. This was my first time at this spa, would not recommend it. I had got many many massages done from many places all over the world. So I know what I am getting in to. This place was not to the mark, first they did not let me use the 10 dollars offer coupon for the first time customers and then did not give the free essence oil that they claimed they would give me as I am here before noon. Then the lady at the front desk, kept insisting on getting a deep tissue massage which was 15 dollars more than the Swedish that I wanted. Anyways she did not do my feet and hands and barely did the front side. She went out 3-4 times during the massage which is also weird and at the payment she asked for tip and then said it's very little. 8/19/21 When the owner of Just Relax, U Relax and U Renew closed down her business at the Tyson's Corner area, she reopened a new store closer to her home in Lansdowne VA.  This shop was opened in a new location that was just opening up in residential area. I envisioned the owner or someone else living above the massage store.  If it were the owner, it would be very easy to go to work.  I then pictured a  staircase being made from the apartment to the massage store.  This is what went through my mind when I saw some pictures of the new store. Lilly, the store owner got in contact with me and informed me her new store was opening.   My wife and I decided to check it out on warm Saturday afternoon.  We contacted Lilly to make an apointment for the same day.   Upon entering the establishment,  we were greeted by Lilly and male worker.  My wife opted to go with the male masseur while Lilly showed me to my private.    The place was still being painted, so not all the walls were finished.  Still, the establishment had warm colors and felt warm and inviting.  Lilly still had all the skills I remember from when she was working as an employee at Massage Express.   A woman with a plan who now own two different stores in Virginia.    The massage was for 90 minutes each and the underwear rule that Tyson's Corner Mall had was obsolete in Lilly's store.  My wife and I find massage with any kind of clothing on isn't as good as being nude.  It really depends on the Individual though.  The 90 minute massage was wonderful and both my wife and I thought we would come back here again.  It seems I was the only one to come back for a second trip, but Lilly wasn't there that time. The second experience wasn't as great as the first experience, because of major language barrier.  Still, I will give this place another try. It's just a matter of when. read more

beware ladies there is a predator working and servicing the Ashburn location and maybe possibly the Lansdowne location as well. I went in today for 45 min back massage and a male masseuse attended me, which has never been an issue in the past. About 15 mins into my massage this man began to pleasure himself thinking I wasn't going to hear him or feel what he was doing. I called the police, I also went to their main location to speak to the owner. The owner along with some other male were covering for their employee by saying he's a man of god and a good Christian. they said what I heard was construction next door, etc. LADIES BECAREFUL!!!! if this happened to me it could happen to anyone and it probably has. read more

There is usually an appointment available and the masseuse is always amazing! I usually go in for sports massages to work on injuries and I always leave feeling better. If I prefer a relaxing massage instead of a sports massage, they can do that too! I highly recommend this place! read more

Guy came in and smelled like smoke. Customer walked in middle of my massage, the guy went out and helped him for 5 minutes and didn't re-add the time. He re-injured my hamstring that had nearly fully healed. At the end, he suggested I add 10 more minutes since we "ran out of time." read more

But the people there are very aggressive with the massage and then do bogus things that pretty much waste time and provide no comfort to the person. You know that amazing feeling you get when you've had a great massage that really worked you and you feel almost sore? Yeah, I love that... but I didn't get that here. I went to Relax Spa with a Living Social voucher with the option at my choice of massage. I just moved to the area and needed a nice massage to help with all the stress. First impression was how cheaply decorated this place was. Second impression- the room was way too cold. You know when you look forward to those heated massage beds? Yep- not here either. Even under the sheet and blanket, it was cold. I get that it's summer in Virginia, but the AC should NOT be cranked up in the room when you have shed all your clothes. As for my choice of massage (as per the voucher I purchased), they have many attractive options, but I wasn't given a choice. I don't know if it was because I had a voucher and wasn't a regular paying customer, but when I asked my therapist if I could have deep tissue, she said maybe she could try but it would only be medium. I don't even think it was that. I feel like my teenage nephew gives better back massages. Then there was the lack of attention to the temperature of the towel placed on my back to wipe the lotion off. It was definitely too hot, causing my back to tense up and any relaxation that might have been achieved was now gone. Also, I don't know if it was laundry or construction, but the noise in the room next door definitely didn't help me achieve the relaxation from my move that I was hoping for.
