I did not know Kaui Billue when several months ago I booked a 60 minute traditional massage (called a "Thai Euro massage" on Origins Thai Spa's website) with her. I loved the experience so much that I immediately booked the longest session available (90 minutes). I have had two long massages with Kaui, and both have been truly sublime. So much so that I have two future sessions booked now! I will mention a few things about Kaui the person, Kaui the massage therapist, and about the spa. Kaui is an extremely likeable, friendly, and intelligent person who communicates well. An example of how kind and thoughtful Kaui is: after my last massage with her was over, she gave me a box of macadamia nuts covered in chocolate (macadamia nuts are not cheap!) she got on her recent trip to her home state of Hawaii. Kaui really goes the extra mile to please! Kaui's very wonderful qualities as a person would be admirable but they would largely be irrelevant when you want a great massage if Kaui did not deliver on the massage table. I have had massages from multiple people. They all did a fine job. But after my 90 minute massage sessions with Kaui I never felt more relaxed in my life!! Kaui moves over your body at just the right "Goldilocks" speed--not too fast, not to slow--just perfect. Kaui made massage movements I had not experienced before that made me melt into the massage table in sublime relaxed pleasure. Every minute of my massages with Kaui has felt wonderful! When Kaui is working her massage magic on your body she is wise enough to stay silent (except for a very occasional "pressure level OK?" check-in early in the message) so that talk does not distract you from the blissful relaxation you are experiencing under her hands. But if you initiate a conversation Kaui is more than happy to talk. Kaui is wise enough to let you control how long the conversation lasts. A car analogy fits. For me, getting a massage from others has been like driving a Honda Accord--a good experience but nothing really shines. In contrast, getting a massage from Kaui is like the "ultimate driving experience" when driving a top of line BMW. Kaui has provided me with the "ultimate massage experience" (nothing sexual implied; Origins Thai Spa is a totally legitimate place). Origins Thai Spa is exceptional as well. It is in a quiet location in Sterling (not a strip mall or other busy place). The spa is quiet and soothing from the moment step inside. All the receptionists are very friendly. It is very easy to make appointments online. You can have a warm massage table if you want it. After the massage is over, Kaui wipes you down with a warm towel to remove massage oil from your body. Plus a very welcome warm towel for your face at the end that caps off this most relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Kaui even immediately gave me one of the spa's robes when my bladder made me step down the hall for a minute during the massage. Kaui, you have a customer for life. If you want to have the most relaxing massage of your life in a serene location, book an appointment with Kaui today. read more

Kate was amazing! I had a seaweed detox body wrap and the process was easy. Started by drinking a warm cup of water to help my body prepare for the detox. Once the paste was applied, I was wrapped in a cozy cocoon of warmth for 30 mins. The warm towel under neck and over eyes sent me off to a nice little nap. Next came a quick shower and then my skin was massaged with a rich body butter that left my skin hydrated and silky soft. And you can't forget about sipping on one of their signature hot teas while you relax in the lounge before you check out. Highly recommend! read more

For my birthday I was looking for a place I could receive a massage and facial and ran across Origins Thai Spa on yelp. This place is literally around the corner from my house so i was sold on the convenience. Eve gave me a great 1 hour massage and worked out all the kinks. Coco did my facial and my face is still glowing! I was so impressed with the service that I signed up for their monthly membership. I'm looking forward to getting this self care every month read more

I have been getting my massage from Origins Thai for a very long time and I recommend this place for everyone. Either you need a relaxing massage or you have pain that you need worked on they'll do a splendid job. Pros: I don't want to gatekeep my therapist because was too good but wow, what a session! Lin does an incredible job in making my body feel better. A true body whisperer! I kept asking myself why haven't I been here way before?! The ambience was unexpectedly warm and cozy. Tea and couch post-session was a nice ending so you can relax before you drive back home. Consideration: I appreciated being introduced to the membership plan, and the options seemed reasonable. However, I needed a bit more time to make a decision, especially since I was short on time and had to leave town. I also was told that signing up required an in-person visit to complete physical paperwork. When I asked about the possibility of calling back or emailing before the store closed as an alternative, I was informed that this wasn't an option. It would be helpful if there were more flexible ways to finalize the process for those with time constraints. read more

I last wrote about this Spa years ago before the pandemic. Thought it may be helpful to update the review during the pandemic. Like so many Spas, the locations across NVA wre shut down and even when restrictions were lifted, the owners took time beofre re-opening with information about precautions for its customers and staff. For all customers, on entering there is sanitizer, and face masks to use. At the front desk everone is required to fill out an information sheet and temperatures are taken (BTW many PT entities don't even do this much). There are very clean restrooms to use with sanitizer, soap and towels. The rooms were always and still are very clean and the masks are utilized by client and staff. I lost my last therapist Jane sho returned to Thailand and am fortuate to use my wife's favorite therapist Kamon. Satff are great with Nae who always has the patiience to deal with my many chages, Cocoa and one of the owners Uma. I have not visited other locations but given my experience at this Sterling location (opposite Cascades Shopping Center and adjacent to the Post Office) would highly recommend Origins Thai Spa. read more

Made an appointment yesterday for my sister and myself but my sister came down with flu symptoms and called to cancel or reschedule the appointment but they would not do that for another day. And charged my account. Terrible customer service!! Having had my own business and being a medical provider, thought this was a terrible business model specially during Fall and Winter months since a lot of people may come down with either Flu or Covid. Would never recommend or go back because of this policy!! read more

I recently moved to the area and was in search of a new massage facility after cancelling with a larger chain. I passed this location a few times and thought I'd check out the website and give them a try. The booking was done online and was very simple after creating a profile. They have a great breakdown of all the services they offer. I arrived about 15 minutes before my appointment and parked on-site in the parking garage. The staff was friendly and wearing masks as I signed in for my appointment. I saw Zack for a deep tissue massage and it was amazing!!! I was extremely sore after working out earlier that week and I left feeling ten times better. Zack was very gentle and able to easily pinpoint all of my areas of pain and soreness. I am a satisfied new member and will return! read more

I was looking for a massage to celebrate a special occasion and treat ourselves. Based on online reviews, I chose Origins and it didn't disappoint. We liked it so much and we signed up for the monthly packages too. The therapists have been wonderful and you come out of the massage session feeling relaxed and ready to slide into sleep. I love the aroma and ambience in both the Arlington and Alexandria locations. Haven't been to any of the others. Highly recommend Origins. read more

A really great massage place for surprisingly reasonable prices. I recently moved to the NOVA area from Hawaii, and everything around here is super expensive in general. Finding a place with such reasonable prices for 60/90/120 min massages was a really great find. Me and my wife went and had a great experience, will 100% be going back again in a couple months. It was also very quiet and tranquil inside the lobby, and the entire place smelled great. read more

I visited the new Alexandria location today. It was conviently located near Old Town. The new renovated interiors were elegant and serene. The customer service was just as professional as the Arlington location. I had not had a traditional Thai massage since the pandemic begin. The site was presenting and the staff took all of the necessary precautions to include wearing mask for both patrons and therapist, hand sanitizers stations and private rooms. Minty was my massage therapist and she was incredible. Her technique was that of an expert and she made sure I was comfortable and relaxed and she performed deep therapeutic stretches. I was previously a member at the Arlington location but the Alexandria location is now my favorite site. I have already scheduled my next appointment with Minty. You should too! read more

I've been going here for the last couple of years. The place is serene, clean, and has a great staff. Before you get your massage, your offered tea or water. I have been getting Thai massages for over 15 years and this was probably the worst Thai massage I have ever gotten!! The lady who did the massage seemed inexperienced (even though she was quite old and so you would think she had lot of experience) and didn't really do a decent job. She didn't do most of the stretches that are done in such massages, was a bit rough and uneven on both sides. I had paid extra for the herbal massage and in all other similar places, they only use single-use herbal packs that the is not reused among guests and the customer gets to take it home at end of the massage since it is not hygenic to reuse that for other guests! BUT, at this place they clearly reused the herbal packs and she barely spent 5 minutes with it massaging me!! Not sure if all the other good reviews are real or fake :-( read more

Very disappointed in my last experience at this location. I called to schedule a couple massage as a gift to my husband for Xmas. Called the day of to confirm, and the receptionist told me she 1) didn't have my number on file, 2) then said she called my number to confirm and cancel the appointment, and 3) and then said she texted me to confirm the cancellations. I have no record of any of the calls or texts. Very very frustrated and really embarrassed that my holiday gift was a bust. I will never give origins my money again. read more

It was the rudest receptionist who was asking me if I was coming for sure to my appointment. She asked me if i was coming couple of times that she arranged the lady now, otherwise she was leaving. When i mentioned i wouldn't arrange it last minute if i wasn't coming and then she complains about another customer yesterday how she didn't come to her appointment . In addition, She was gonna charge me if i didn't go. At the end, i said unless I died, I was coming. She told me she didn't like this attitude and decided to cancel my booking. She is the one who started with the wrong attitude and then, I as a customer am the one with wrong attitude. I find it so unprofessional to be investigated or to be assured like that during making an appointment for a massage saloon where by the way we go for relaxation. I understand she is trying to make sure not to lose money on business, But, what she had with another customer is not my problem. These things happen in businesses. This is service business and this is not the approach you show your customers especially in these difficult times. If you are making an appointment make sure to tell them you are going to your appointment for sure or better give them notary signed letter that you are going. But don't tell them what i said otherwise your appointment will be cancelled just like that. So unprofessional! So rude! read more

I love Origins Thai Spa and have been a member for years. I have had only a few massage therapist at this location but I swear by Sara. She has always delivered one of the best massages whether it was deep tissue, thai massage, etc. The only reason why I had other massage therapists here was due to Sara being busy. So be mindful to book in advance with her. Plus who doesn't love booking things online? The website is very user friendly. One thing I would recommend for others to do is sign up for their membership program. I am going to miss this place as I am moving out of state early next year. I am not sure if I will be able to find another good thai massage place or another therapist like Sara. Yelpers in Texas will have to help me on that one. Please note that their is plenty of parking. read more

I have been to countless businesses for a good massage I'm Alexandria since Ai moves here in February of 2020. I had injures my shoulder in a fall and a month later I was still in pain. One day in May I was looking to try out another place for a massage because I still hadn't found a place that I would consider above average for a massage yet. I happen to realizes that day how close Origins was to my house so I went there. I got a 90min hot stone and it was fantastic!!! Very very above average!!! I also realizes my shoulder felt better. The next morning my shoulder felt COMPLETELY normal!!!! So much so that I was able to cancel the appointment I had with my doctor to look at it!!!! Need I say more!?!?!?! I have not had a massage in a few months and I definitely was in need of one. The Orgins Thai Spa did not let me down. The oil used did not leave me greesy and they also provided a Eucalyptus towel over tour for head. Very relaxing. I will be returning once a month. Thank you all!!! read more

This is a clean and spacious spa. I went in for a deep tissue massage and enjoyed it. The time flew by and I felt relaxed. I will be coming here again to try the other types of massages.
