She booked me for the same day late afternoon, and called when an earlier appointment opened up with another therapist that she recommended for my situation, David.

Every now and then you get noisy groups in the sauna... so you know the first timers! The onsite dining is still pretty good but prices have spiked. The 7-piece wings was good but cost $23 before taxes. We tried the Kalbi bento, which was ok. It cost $35 before taxes. Again, still a very nice and clean spa that has gotten popular, which draws in large groups along with loud conversations, even in the saunas. Recommendations: - if you are getting a massage, book early because it fills fast. - a water bottle - socks to wear indoors - slippers for the outdoor pool area - noise cancellation ear buds or headphones - eat a big meal before showing up

The staff stay on top of making sure everything is clean and sanitized. The price is very worth it. A $60 weekday pass gives you access to saunas, steam rooms, indoor and outdoor bade pools, and jacuzzis. The food options in the food area are plentiful and the food is yummy. I honestly haven't tried anything that I didn't like from there. I like the wristbands that conveniently serve as your key and keeps track of your purchases until you check out of the spa. I also like that they put up a heated shelter on the pool deck during the winter to make sitting outside more comfortable when using the pool. Some things I'm not crazy about: -How small the towels are -Seems to always be maintenance that closes off a room or area, preventing me from enjoying the full amenities of what the day pass includes -The indoor portion of the coed pool is small and lackluster. Its either dirty or the heating unit of the pool is broken and the pool is freezing. -The cost of the services are very pricey. -I wish they would ditch the uniforms for robes. Tips for first time visitors: -Come on weekdays (Mon-Thurs) because the weekends and holidays are more expensive and it gets pretty crowded and not very relaxing. -Bring socks (yoga/barre socks or socks with grips on the bottom are best to avoid slipping) if you don't want to walk around barefoot. They don't allow flip flops. -The "wet areas" are gender-separated and fully nude. -Changing areas in the bathroom are private, but the showers are communal. -Bring a towel and toiletries to shower after the pool.

I read the bad reviews before going, but I'm going to base my opinion on my own experience. I like that they offer discounts for seniors. My mom's admission was $35 and mine was $45. This is definitely very affordable, and for someone who cares more about the benefits rather than aesthetics or Instagram photos, I think it's worth it. I can see why some people say the pool water smells musky. It does seem that way a bit, but honestly, I'm not sure if it's just because the water is warm. The spa treatments are pricey, but it's understandable. The staff could use some hospitality training. The girl at the front desk was nice, but the guy could definitely use some training. The food is affordable and the portions are huge. I got bibimbap for $16 and shared it with my mom, so it was definitely worth the money. I would come back again, especially on my birthday, because they have a promotion for free admission if it's your birthday. They also have a bunch of other promotions that I don't remember, but they're worth checking out. Really wish they would open one in Maryland again.

The front desk customer service at Spa World was absolutely unacceptable and deeply disrespectful…read more The woman assisting guests before me was polite, smiling, and thorough with non-African American customers--explaining procedures, asking for sizes, and treating them with basic courtesy. The moment it was my turn, her entire demeanor changed. Instead of professionalism, I was met with visible disdain, eye-rolling, and a dismissive attitude. No explanations. No courtesy. No respect. When I calmly corrected her on an issue, rather than addressing it professionally, she doubled down on the disrespect. To make matters worse, she was not wearing a name tag. When I asked for her name, she refused to provide it, which is completely unacceptable in a customer-facing role. I then attempted to address the issue with another front desk employee--the shorter, dark-haired woman with glasses--who also refused to respond when spoken to. This experience left me feeling singled out, disrespected, and ignored. Whether this was due to poor training or something more troubling, the behavior I encountered was unprofessional and hostile. Front desk staff set the tone for any business, and Spa World's front desk failed spectacularly. I will not be returning, and I would strongly caution others--especially African American customers--to be aware that they may not receive the same level of respect afforded to others.

Plenty of seating with some double size lounge couches. Typically it is very quiet but they do allow children so if the kids come it can get a little less Zen. The Spa also offers full service massage, pedis , manis and more. The Spa is High end and the service is top notch. Besides the pool and spa services they have separate male/female Locker rooms with Steam Rooms , Sauna and showers. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Often they even serve Champagne complimentary. It's very relaxing and we visit several times a year . Great for a quick getaway - Plus it's in the Ritz so you have the 5 Star service , restaurant , bar, lounge and rooms to go along with it. Next time in DC check this place out and be sure to visit the Spa ! The staff at the Spa makes the experience even better ! - so check them out you will be back !!

My husband purchased a full body massage as a birthday gift for me at this spa. I was so excited (…read morebeing a mum - I don't ever go for massages anymore). He told me that he prefilled all the forms in so that I didn't need too. He specifically wrote that I do not like hard pressure massages and that I would like a light pressure massage. He also put down all my injuries and allergies. I mention this because I had an injury on my foot. The parking area is pretty easy to navigate and they do validate your ticket. Upon arrival I was greeted by the front desk receptionist who was really pleasant and offered me water or Champaign. I don't drink so I opted for water. They should definitely introduce non alcoholic drinks as well. When walking in the change room, I was vey underwhelmed. It was very small and there was signs on the walls asking guests to be quiet as the spa rooms were actually basically in the change rooms. It was bizarre. Also they don't have any hairdryers so I had to leave with wet hair in very cold weather - not ideal. They can't really have you drying your hair when the treatment rooms are so close I guess. They have plastic slippers ( while this makes sense for the steam room and pool etc, it is not comfortable). The treatment room I entered was in the change room( lol). The lady that massaged me kept repeating her name for some reason. Anyway- we started and it was probably one of the worst massages I had in my life. The pressure was extremely hard to the point of painful as she kept pulling my skin and I felt her nails in my skin. I asked her to lighten the pressure and it was at a point where I just wanted it to be over because she just wasn't listening to me and my body was in tense mode the entire time. She tried to massage my foot which i told her not too due to my injury and I'm like " didn't you read my form". What is the point you complete a form if the therapist doesn't read it. After the torture was over I was like - let me try the steam room and pool to assist with my abused body. The pool was nice but the jacuzzi didn't work. The steam room and sauna was nice but tiny. Now let me tell you about the showers. They only have two showers across from each other ( one is for people with disabilities and the other not). When I put the shower on I couldn't understand why the temperature of the water was not getting warm. Then I realized they installed the fixture incorrectly and hot is cold and cold is hot. Come on!!! You make so much money- surely you can fix that. I was like wtf at this point. Ok so then I went to check out the relaxation room. Um... yeah total joke. They have a kettle and a box with tea bags. Have they not heard of an urn that just gives hot water. So they would rather you fill the kettle and warm the water yourself. There was no snacks and right next to the relaxation area is a place people go to get nails done. So I didn't really relax there at all. Please don't waste your time and money at this place. I had to lie to my hubby and say it was great because I didn't want him to feel disappointed as he did get this experience for me as a birthday gift. Improvements ? I think the first thing I would say is get better massage therapists that actually listen to the client. Then move your treatment rooms and get a better relax area. This spa will close at some point because I don't know how sustainable there current " let's just get away with as little as we can " approach can go. From a hotel with such a good reputation- this spa was far from that.
