I always say everything happens for a reason and after reading the poor reviews it appears I'm better off that the sales rep and her manager didn't honor the 20% discount on a very pricey leather sofa I was ready to buy. The sale technically ended Monday and I couldn't get down to the store to check out the sofa til Tuesday. So i get there has to be a cut off. However, based on their bad reviews i would start bending policy to be more customer friendly focused and improve brand image! The sales rep claimed she asked her manager to make an exception and they said no. I offered her my business card in case they reconsidered. At first the sales rep wouldn't take my card because there was nothing she could do. But then she did end up taking it so she could "alert me to any promotions in future". Who knows if my card went straight into the trash?? But I appreciated that and added 1 star for her efforts. Even though the sofa is an in stock item and I can return there was a hefty $299 delivery fee that I would be out if I ended up ordering and not liking it. I had to call customer service twice to ask questions and both calls had wait times of over 30 minutes! The first time within a minute or two i got disconnected and had to call back... I can see if you have any issues with orders or returns how frustrating this company would be to deal with. I still think the leather sofa is adorable...but no way would I purchase without minimum 20% discount and even with that I would still be extremely leary to deal with this company if I should have any issues with the order! This would have been my first purchase at Rejuvenation and I have a few remodeling projects coming up...i'll search elsewhere for all my decorating needs! read more

After spending some time shopping on 4th street my girlfriend and I made our final stop to Rejuvenation. After briefly walking around the store my partner and I both noticed that we ( the only people of color ) where the only ones not approached to see if we needed any help. This place has the best selection of reproduction lights and shades in the Bay Area. The fixtures and shades can be mixed and matched or bought separately. Definitely of a better quality than most reproductions these days. They also carry reproduction bath and cabinet hardware as well. All of this is sold for a premium, but for the selection it is hard to complain. The real highlight of this place is, however, the refurbished vintage light fixtures. I have been told that this was the original focus of the business. At this retail space though, originals only accounted for about 15% of the showroom. There are other places with bigger selection of vintage light fixtures like Omega, but the ones they have here are lovingly restored and worth a look as well. read more

We just moved up here and are redoing an old house. I went to this place on Monday, Labor Day, around 3p because I thought I could pick up a few things to spruce up the old house. We were in the store for about 15 minutes and were never approached by a salesperson. We couldn't even find one. It definitely looked as if only customers were in the store. When I approached the woman behind the cash register she said "Hold on. I'm helping someone else right now." Really? No thank you. No nothing. All I got was a hold on. How does one differentiate a customer from a salesperson? Maybe they only had the one person ringing up sales? I WON'T BE COMING BACK HERE ANYTIME SOON. read more

I found the service here to be very good. Eliza was attentive and helpful. We were able to see various lamp configurations and she was patient with our decision making process. Our experience was very good. However, I did observe other patrons waiting a long time for an associate to help, and no real focus on the customers by the staff in general. Buyer beware. I bought a sofa and a leather chair in early November at the Berkeley store. The sofa was fine and was delivered quickly, but the chair has been a total nightmare. It still has not been delivered nearly 3 months later, even though the main office notified me a month ago that the chair had been shipped. No one at Rejuvenation can tell me where my chair is. I've emailed customer service several times and they are very sorry. They do not know the status of my chair. They will try their best to find out. Still waiting. I called the store today and spoke with Jaqui, who sold me the chair. She told me it is still in production. I asked her why, if the chair is still in production, I received an email a month ago saying the chair had been shipped. She said maybe the order was canceled. I reminded her that the charge has been on my credit card for 6 weeks and is still there. Jaqui then reprimanded me for emailing the main office, implying that's the reason I don't have my chair yet. At this point I told her that I want to cancel the order and will reverse the charge and said goodbye. This was not the only frustrating interaction with Jaqui. When I originally bought the chair, Jaqui overcharged me for shipping by $460, wrote up the order for a different chair than the floor model I had shown her I wanted, and failed to tell me that the chair is considered "custom" so I would not be able to exchange or return it should anything go wrong. I found this out later when I noticed the order had the model wrong, and I contacted the store to change it to the one I wanted. The very helpful Natalia researched it for me and told me I could not exchange it because it's a custom chair. Natalia also refunded the $460 overcharge. I appreciate Rejuvenation has one conscientious employee, so I give it one star, but I would never shop at this store again. read more

Do not purchase from Rejuvenation. Their stuff looks beautiful, but that's it. All their bathroom fixtures are non-returnable. Customer service will lie to you about "calling their vendor" when you try to return things that simply don't fit. Fit and finish are poor in general. Their drains don't fit their sinks properly. One of the lights I ordered was non-functional and one was bent - and the multiple hoops I had to go through to return them was ridiculous. Their vanities are non-standard height. Came in on Saturday and was promised a price of $759 originally $1900) on a lounge chair that was on clearance. At the same time there was a 20% off of all furniture that ended on July 31 but was assured by the manger Shelby that the clearance item would remain at $759 until they ran out. Furthermore, I was told that if I purchased the chair in the store (rather than online) that I would be able to return the item to the store if it didn't work out, with no return shipping. I was told this by Shelby (manager) and it was confirmed by another employee. I came back 2 days later (after the 20% sale ended) to find that the clearance item had gone up to $949. This added up to a lot for me, as I was planning to purchase two. Shelby was not working that day. I was told by the manager du-jour, Robert, that Shelby and the other employee were mistaken - that the price would go up after the sale and that the item was not returnable at all (since it was on clearance). He would not make an effort to honor the promise made by the other employees, nor contact them for clarification. read more

Worse customer service EVER! The problem started with a web order. Person on the phone misrepresented the shipping policy. I was left with a very heavy 9x12 rug and a pad on my front porch. Apparently this was all my fault according to customer service. There was no supervisor on duty to talk to. thought this store where i had just placed a $3500 order and was getting quotes for more furniture would help me. Nope. No compromise - no suggestion other than "get someone to help you bring it in". Cancelled both orders and they could care less. Must be nice to have so many customers that you can afford to lose one. I feel bad for the women who helpd me select the couch and place the order. Sorry, but you work for a disreputable place. The two times I reached a service rep I was assured the couch would be picked up and no problem to return it. Nobody ever picked it up, no follow up, no accountability. TOTAL DISASTER. NEVER EVER - EVER - ORDER ON LINE AND GET ITEMS SHIPPED. Ordered a month ago, had my cc charged and received an e-mail right away saying half the order shipped - but no tracking number. Called customer service as items should have arrived already. They said they were in transit but no tracking number. Live chatted twice and got what seemed to be an auto reply of items shipped - but again no tracking number. Called the store in Berkeley. Nice lady but after 10-15 minuets should could not figure anything out and said the manager would call me. Called back. Was told manager emailed the warehouse and they have no response yet, and no tracking info. WTF. It is computerized. If you can charge my card you should be able to get me a tracking number. I seriously doubt I will receive what I ordered. It does not matter how cool the stuff is if they cant ship it, or even know where it is. Truly pathetic service for a store owned by Pottery Barn. I doubt these guys will be around for long. I recommend never buying anything from them. read more

I visited Berkeley store in August, ordered lighting for our dining room, kitchen, office and 2 bedrooms. I was told the lighting would arrive in 3 weeks. Since then we have received the order in pieces over a 3 month period. We were never informed any of the lighting would arrive late until we called. In early October we were told the order would be complete in November. November is over tomorrow - but my order isn't complete. No phone call from Rejuvenation, no explanation. Additionally, I was sold light bulbs that did not fit into the glass globes I ordered. When I called to ask that appropriate light bulbs be sent, I was asked to drive to the store and bring back the incorrect bulbs. After spending more than an hour on the phone the manager agreed to send us the $12.00 worth of bulbs without requiring us to drive an hour to return the incorrect bulbs. Really? I spent 2300$ at the store and had planned to spend more. I notice I am not the first one to complain about custom service. Come on Rejuvenation! Get it together. read more

Great products, no question. Have loved their stuff for years through the catalog. On the pricey side, but it's worth it for the selection they carry. The customer service, however, isn't near where it should be for a business on Fourth Street or at this price point. Maybe it was an off day, but I got hit with attitude and a dismissive, fake smile when I came in today. I recently purchased a new glass fixture and ended up buying a couple of their metal signs as well. I realized as I was walking in the door that I had just missed the 30 day return requirement (I had my receipt and the sign was still in its original plastic wrap). When I approached the desk and asked if there was any flexibility on the return policy, I got an "It's 30 days!" response in a tone that clearly was meant to cut off any further conversation. The three associates then went back to whatever they were doing (there weren't any other customers at the desk). No one asked "when did you buy it," "did it not work out," or "would you like to exchange it for something else." Because I love Rejuvenation, I called other stores (not within driving distance, unfortunately) and every one of them said it would be no problem to make the return. They even asked my name so they could tell all the other associates. Will never shop here again. read more

Some nice products, but largely incompetent. The sales staff is very nice in the store, but they just can't seem to get it together on the back end. I will spare you the details, but DO NOT purchase anything from them that you can't walk out the door with that day. Do not let them order anything for you that is out of stock. If it is backordered, no one will tell you. Even if they have the product in the warehouse, they will lose your order. When they find your order, they won't have any idea whether they've shipped your products. I've had the same problems with them on multiple orders involving totally different products. Their sourcing and organization is just a total disaster. read more

I was the only asian in the store, and the only one to not even receive a "hello" from the store clerk, who looked straight at me and then helped another person. In fact, most of the people shopping there were white - which is surprising given Berkeley's demographic. After reading some other reviews this becomes more apparent. Wow, terrible service. I ordered online when I saw an AD for their store, looked amazing. I ordered 4 cabinet knobs with backplates. They charged my Amex card and then I waited, and waited and waited....nothing but ads to buy more stuff. Then I got another notice from my Amex card saying they charged my card again a month later. I then got suspicious that maybe this was another scam. I called the number on my sales receipt and got a call center in Vegas that tried to say that the first hit on my credit card was just a check to make sure I had funds and the second as well, but when I look at my statement, they are charges. I then asked if the item has shipped and she asked for the order number. Once I gave it to her, she said there is a problem, seems the back plate is on backorder until May. WHY DID THEY NOT INFORM THE CUSTOMER? WHY HAVE I BEEN CHARGED TWICE. I am disputing the charges with Amex and warning all of you, this company is a SCAM! Stay Away. read more

I would not recommend ever shopping at this store. Their customer service is terrible, and we experienced this on both occasions over the last 35 days. We had a very awkward interaction with a very pushy sales person on our first visit. We realized that the item we left with that day (a lightbulb) was too large for our fixture and put it back in its box. We returned just four days past the 30 day return time to exchange it for a skinnier bulb (Life happens). The same person that helped us the first time said she isn't supposed to return it but would exchange it for us. Then as we look at the other smaller bulbs, she said that she was caught by her manager and couldn't take the bulb back not even as an exchange. The strange thing... no one had approached her and pretty sure she was the manager. We asked her if we could speak with the manager directly but she refused to actually get the person she said had caught her, even though we asked politely to speak with the manager several times. We will never be returning to this store and wouldn't recommend anyone else does either. No wonder they have such bad reviews. read more

Such a great addition to the mix on Fourth Street. In the past few months I have brought home the enamelware and the towels. The enamel is as nice as it gets. I love bringing dishes to parties in this because it presents as rustic, and there is no risk of breakage or chipping on the way to a party. The towels are the single most luxurious thing in my house. Every time I wash them I think- they are going to be rough after this, and NO. They come back like a fluffy cotton ball. The bath towels and hand towels are a dream. The folks on staff helped to fulfill my recent wishes by ordering matching smaller towels from another store and they were delivered in just a couple of days. Ordered Carson 12" Tomato Red wall sconces and they arrived three days later, free shipping, discounted per 10% off for first time orders. Communication was excellent via email. They have great items and the in-store staff were helpful... BUT customer service for furniture delivery is absolutely horrific. The worst I've ever experienced. They work with a 3rd party for scheduled delivery of large furniture items. Sounded good when I bought it, but they couldn't deliver to save their lives and their story was all over the place. It was like Rejuvenation and their delivery service don't even talk to each other. They missed their delivery dates for a table I bought twice in a row. Both times I got calls on a Friday afternoon telling me they won't make the Sat. delivery I had scheduled. Both times the delivery service said they weren't able to locate the item at the distribution center, but would get it on their next pickup and asked to re-schedule. After the second time, I was a bit skeptical so started asking questions. 1st person at their service line assured me they knew where the item was and had it scheduled, but kicked me back to the main line when I asked for more specific details. The next person I talked to said that the item was actually lost and they re-ordered it from Rejuvenation that day. Had no idea when they would get it. So I tracked down Rejuvenation Customer Service directly, and learned it was at least 4 weeks out. Ended up cancelling my order since I couldn't wait that long - was already a month from when I bought it. The last gem in this whole deal? It will take 7-10 business days for my card to be credited. WTF, seriously? So, if you want to buy something and leave the store with it in your hands, go for it. It will probably be nice. If you need something delivered, stay away as their system is completely FUBAR read more

I bought several light fixtures from them and, while their products are good looking, they are very overpriced for what they are. I wouldn't even mind that but their customer service is shockingly bad and I've waited on hold more times and longer than Dept of Motor Vehicles. They don't do returns after 30 days ... AT ALL. Not even STORE CREDIT. We tried to return 26 unopened cabinet knobs in perfect UNOPENED condition. Do not order from Rejuvenation! You may actually NEVER receive your lighting, although you will get a friendly email that it has been delayed by 30 days. I have been waiting for five months for my order and just received my "We regret to inform you..." email for month six. This is a custom order piece from a ceramics studio in Portland Oregon, but ultimately Rejuvenation is responsible for assuring delivery of the product. If this vendor can't provide that, then cut them loose and don't make your customers suffer. Interestingly, the item I ordered was just put on sale! If you can't even get them delivered, why in the world would you put them on sale??? read more
