Refresh nails is great but as far as there sister shop goes, Perfect Brows. Do NOT get a Brazilian here. I tried it and whatever wax they used literally ripped a bit of my panty liner off and left me bleeding and embarrassed. She thought she'd cover the blood by throwing on more baby powder and the proceeded to put a oitment cream on top of the baby powder. Not the way to do things. So, I immediately asked her to stop and just get the back of my leg. She proceeded to use a rolling stick of wax, that I know for a fact has been used on numerous women. Nothing sanitary about that. I took the cheap route and now have missing skin on my panty line and half a shaved cooch. Take my advice- Do it the right way ladies and don't get your privates waxed here. read more

Fantastic! Great service, friendly employees. Did nails just how I asked (so many places try to talk you into something else) and they were pretty quick. I came in at 4:45 on Valentine's Day and was seated right away and taken care of promptly. By the time I left at 6, it was packed! Prices are same as anywhere else. My pedicure was terrible and I spent over $100 I should have known this place was a fire hot mess when I called @ 7 to make sure they can accommodate 2. I received a pedicure here ($25 I think, which was fine) and an SNS dip manicure ($45). While my nails themselves look fine, 7 out of my 10 fingers has a cut on it from the filing process where she was filing my skin/cuticles instead. Very painful! The manicure itself looks good (it too a long time) but having this many raw cuts on my hands just is not worth it - for any price. The manicurist was Sabina. I live in a convenient location to this spa so I might let someone else do it next time, but I shouldn't have this many cuts on my hands from this procedure. I should also add: The SNS color options they have are not that great (and it isn't even SNS - it's another dip powder brand, not true SNS). I picked out what seemed to be a pretty toned-down pink shade and that is definitely NOT the color that's on my fingers. It's pretty, but its more of a bubble gum, hot pink color. It doesn't match the chip I picked out at all. I checked the label on the dip powder she was using and it matched the number of the shade I asked for, so either the top was switched or the chip they made looked nothing like the color for some reason. EDIT: It appears the manicurist read this review and voted that it was "FUNNY." I don't know what's funny about cuts all over my fingers! How unprofessional. read more

The woman who did my nails was super nice, the space was clean, and I thought the service was good...however this is my powder gel manicure only THREE DAYS later. I get gel manicures all the time from various places and they need to last at least 2 weeks in my opinion, the better ones 3+. Never had ones that cracked/chipped this easily. The only reason I even gave 2 stars is because the woman was really nice and that matters too, but i would have sacrificed some niceness if I didnt have to find another place to get my nails done last minute. I was excited to try this place. It looks new and nice and has a good location near the train. Then I tried it....... it's TRASH. At least job that "Cici" did was. I got a gel manicure and they charged me $37. It's legit garbage. Not only did she repeatedly hurt me, after I told her it hurt at least 5 separate times, but the polish is uneven. My cuticles look awful and there is polish all over my fingers!! The corners are so sloppy and when I pointed out that there were cotton fuzzies stuck to the polish of my pinky nail she dug her nail into my finger to try and remove it, which hurt like hell and did NOT work, and then proceeded to paint over it so now I can see nice fuzzy marks through the polish -______- Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

This was a quite negative experience. The manager was overbearing and made our time very uncomfortable. I went in with a group of friends, and while I was waiting for a nail tech, the manager tried to file my nails- he did a once over with a very coarse file. When the woman who was doing my nails started shaping them, he interrupted her and told her he had already done that (he had not). He was continually lurking and looking over her shoulder and micromanaging her work. She did a fine job, but I would not go back. I've been going to this place for a while and use to a lady name May who I guess left. Since then I've let Linda do my nails and let me tell you she is HORRIBLE. Not necessarily in the quality of her work I feel like my nails in up coming out to be about a 6/10 but she is EXTREMELY rough and does not care at all about the customer experience or service. She's made me bleed both times I've gone to her and she will literally drill so hard that it burns your cuticles and nail beds. Also, if you give her any critique or be a little less rough she get an attitude, rolls her eyes, will even stop and put down the tools to hough and puff! It's crazy! I've never seen anyone call her out, it seems like this kinda unprofessionalism is just expected by her or in this place! The place is literally right around the corner from me so very convenient and one of the few places I can find close that does sns but I could care less at this point. I will NOT be going back. I've been coming to Refresh Nail Salon since they've opened at this location... and I must say when Victoria was there the nail salon services were awesome. The nail technicians, especially the ones who do tips and SNS services have horrible attitudes. Victoria left, and Now Brian is gone and I there is no supervisor to address this issue. I pay for a PERFECT job, I believe my nails should be the way I want them. If I'm unhappy, the nail tech who's doing my nails should do them as I please. One in particular names LINDA. She has a horrible attitude. I have no problem paying for services rendered as well as I always give a hefty tip. I had my nails done today and I was very unhappy with the way I was treated. I am no Stranger to the salon. I am there every two weeks for a pedicure and nail fill. The location is very clean, and convenient. I would just like it, if the nail technicians who are servicing customers, give me my monies worth. I pay for good service and a beautiful nail job. I was very upset leaving the salon today... I spent over 70.00 and was treated as though they were doing my nails for free. I would love to continue being a patron a Refresh Nails but, their attitudes need to be addressed as well as they may need to be taught how to speak to their customers. Nails shapes need to be perfect, polish regular or gel needs to be perfect, the cuticles need to be cleaned and neat. When customers leave they need to be happy and be able to show off their beautiful hands... please address this issue. I do like the salon and would love to continue being a customer. I came here after work on a Friday as a walk in and was happily surprised they could accommodate me right away for a UV gel refill. However, the service took a long time and they rushed the time under the light, resulting in the gel color peeling off my nail two days later. This is a strange place! Staff is sweet and helpfull, but god these people know nothing about service or creating a spa experience. Which is sad - clearly no one is setting an example. I came in on a Wednesday to get gel nails. Sadly they "lifted" by the cuticals the first day, so I had to come back the day after, to the below experience. For starters, if you enter the salon at a non busy hour, no one is a the front desk. All 6 staff members are just lounging about at the nail stations , no one bothers to greet the customer at the front desk, they just raise an eyebrow asking: Can I help you? You feel like you are interupting their lunchbreak! People - get a staff room in the back will ya? It does not look professional that you are lounging about in the salon. Speaking of professionalism and creating a spa experience. The staff members will contunie to chit-chat while serving me (filming my nails) in Chinese! laughing and pointing at my fingers. If it is not obvious to you what is wrong with this, I ll tell you 1) As a customer, and a person I general , it does not feel nice to be talked about in a foreign language. 2) When I pay for a spa treatment, I expect you to focus on me. Every I asked a question or double checked my nails while she was doing them, the lady just kept rushing me saying "ITS OKAY LAY HAND DOWN". This is not nice. As a client I want to be allowed to doublecheck my nails before I leave. After that I got my feet done. While getting my feet done, I was offered a free facemask. But due to a language barrier, and the person clearly had no idea what he was doing, he just placed this sticky paper mask ON TOP of my makeup. He never took it off me though, I had to peel it off myself because it itched after 30 minutes. I was never offered a clothe to wash my face after even. So I went home super sticky. Also the lady doing my feet "washed" my legs, with the used plastic wrap she had used to wrap my feet in. Dont know what that was about, but did not feel very spa exclusive. Finally I want to say one last thing ,and this goes out to all nail salons. Once and for all, STOP those 3-5 second massages you do after a manicure. No one, wants a massage that is less than a minute long. It is just really annoying. In general I feel like this team should go to a regular spa, and feel the difference. I just had the WORST experience ever at this place. First off, I read reviews on this place and saw that they only had 3.1 starts- so I already had reservations. Against better judgment I try it anyway. When I go in, I'm seated right away because the joint was pretty empty. I'm getting a (regular) pedicure. The Asian lady who starts working on my feet is doing a super rush job. I've had pedicures before and I could tell. At some point during the terrible rush job, she stops scrubbing my heels abruptly to tell me I need to bump my service up to the next package $15 more dollars- I tell her no, just do the best she can.. she starts mumbling something in whatever her native language is. Long story short- the pedicure was subpar.. while I'm at the counter paying, the Asian broad walks past me and says 'cheap' lol. I was shocked. I said 'no, I have no problem paying for good service' This was far less than good service. So much more happened but I really didn't even feel like writing this much. I get SNS done on my nails by May. She does a really great job, I've never had an issue with it chipping or breaking. I usually go in every 3-4 weeks, only when my nails have grown out so much the gap is noticeable. Prices seem fair to me, around $50 with tax for the SNS manicure.
