Yay for Dermavita! :) Mega-post below, but I felt more people need to know about this place! 6 weeks ago my skin was an absolute wreck, I just couldn't get it under control. I went to dermatologists who repeatedly told me that I have "severe acne and need to get on Accutane." I refused to go on Accutane and kept looking for more natural, less aggressive tactics. Over the past few years I've tried eating and topically using coconut oil and apple cider vinegar, tea tree oil, witch hazel, vitamins, supplements that help with skin and digestion, just any natural approach. I spent WAY too much time researching possible causes and ways that might help to alleviate my acne. I'm very healthy, eat well, exercise, drink lots of water, it just all seemed out of my hands. I tried products that the dermatologists gave me like Acanya gel, AcZone, Skin Medica Face Washes, Triaz, antibiotics, Spirolactin, etc etc etc. I had significant scaring and redness and was forced to start wearing really cakey makeup to try to cover it, but it never worked and made me feel not clean and ultimately aggravated the acne more, but I was totally dependent on it. I was mortified whenever anyone saw me without makeup. I skipped classes all the time and would avoid going out far too often because it just was so awful and painful and embarrassing. I went to Dermavita MediSpa about 6 weeks ago and started their 6 week program of weekly clinical facials and dearrrrr meeee, what a change. I have entered smooth skin territory and my scarring has gone down SO MUCH. I'm close to not having to wear makeup again. That's my goal. I wish I had know about this place sooner, I can't say nice enough things about it. The first day I went it, everyone was so wonderful and encouraging, something I'd never gotten from dermatologists (I usually ended up crying afterwards) and I was just hopeful, something I hadn't felt for a long time. During the facials they do a fruit enzyme mask with steam that feels really soothing and great. Then they do extractions, which admittedly do hurt, but if you take an advil beforehand it's fine, and they are what I feel were most important to helping clear up my skin. It's a hands-on approach to cleaning the skin, and oh my, my skin desperately needed it. Then they sometimes do a sulfur mask which soothes the skin and then a light chemical peel. The last few weeks I've been getting microdermabrasion too, which actually feels really good haha and makes your skin smooth, which is super exciting. The first treatment I got my face was slightly swollen and red, so I had to ice it, but it progressively has become less irritated looking afterwards. And the prices are reasonable for how much they do and how affective it really is. It makes much more sense to meet with someone weekly to help with your skin, rather than every 2 months or so meet with a dermatologist who gives you 15 minutes of their time, leaving you the rest of the time unsure of if things are going as they should and just generally on your own. They also have a lot of well priced products to use in conjunction with the treatments. I use the salicylic face wash, EGF Serum, Brightening Gel, benzoyl peroxide (at night) and their oil-free moisturizer. That sounds like a lot, but I still used about 4 products before these treatments, that didn't even work, they just aggravated my sensitive skin. You could do without the EGF Serum and Brightening Gel, they just have helped with speeding up the healing of my scarring. I've been seeing Jenny, who is just fantastic. She listens to me and addresses any of my concerns. She offers suggestions for products to use, but never pushes them on me. And, she just seems to really know what she's doing. I definitely, definitely recommend seeing her if you have acne. Sooooo appreciative to have gotten her help. And it's beautiful, it is a spa afterall. read more

Sweeping declaration! I have always been super self conscious about my skin. Being bi-racial I scar super easily which means my body is a tapestry of my life with scars from acne, surgery, all the way back to scars from when I was 4 years old and my sister would give me rug burns. I had tried everything and resolved myself to just be the type of person to cake on makeup....which also is tough when you're bi-racial because finding a shade that matched had been impossible. Weddings and pools were riddled with anxiety because I knew I wouldn't be able to cover up the way I wanted. Then one day I made an appointment at Dermavita and @Dakotah Fitzgerald changed my life! It has been a year since I wore makeup. A YEAR! When I travel, instead of packing tubs of makeup, I just pack blush and I'm done! (Lashes also help!).... On top of that, in one of my first appointments, Dakotah mentioned that some of my scaring was actually a sign of larger issues. I went to a doctor and got educated to underlying health issues I was completely unaware of and given a plan to ensure I am happy and healthy. I was so close to a dangerous point that if Dakotah had not identified this issue, likely I would not have caught it before I started showing other symptoms with potentially larger consequences. On top of THAT, you pay a reasonable flat rate per hour which gives Dakotah and her peers at Dermavita the ability to really treat you/ not just try to up-sell you or make you worry about compounding charges....I have referred several friends who have had similar results. So, if there's anything skin wise you want to fix, THIS IS YOUR PLACE! It doesn't hurt that on top of being skilled, Dakotah is the sweetest! The entire salon is incredibly helpful! This is definately the place to go in the Seatlle area! The staff is professional and caring. Most importantly, they are very experienced and very knowledgeable about the products and services they provide. I m impressed with the procedures I received at Dermavita. My first exprience with Dermavita started when I visited my best friend in Kirkland, Seattle. I wanted to take advantage of my two weeks off and do something for myself. I wanted to relax, refreash and pamper myself. I found Dermavita online (very informative website) by the way. I called them and made myfirst appointment, the receptionist was very friendly and attentive. When I arrived at the spa, I was greeted and felt very relaxed. Well there I decided to do the IPL treatment with Debbie, it was my first time. I have lived in Southern California almost all my life so I spend a lot of time on the beach. The sun damage has definiately had an impact on my skin aging. I have a lot of freckles, red spots and wrinkles so I definaltey wanted to try something different and see some results. I tried the IPL and was skeptical but Debbie was very professional and informative in explaining to me the differences in procedures. A week later my skin looked fabulous and I wanted to try another treatment. I also had the Botex around my eyes and the Juvederm on my lips by Bonnie (who is a nurse). Wow! No brusing afterwards, I have always bruised after my previous Botex injections. I would definatley recommend them, too bad they are not in San Diego. Best acne products/skin treatments I have ever invested in. I've struggled with my skin's acne for years. I was referred to Dermavita by a friend who had a laser treatment procedure a few months back. Her procedure went very well with no side effects, scarring, or lasting pain other than that from a sunburn. I was very impressed and excited as I've been wanting a microdermabrasion treatment forever, but have been scared. After hearing her great reviews about Dermavita, I scheduled a consultation and met the staff and discussed my treatment plan. The staff was VERY friendly and provided every bit of information about the procedure and answered ALL my questions, leaving me very hopeful. I have acne scaring on my face and neck from when I was a teen. I discussed with Dr. S that after a few microdermabrasion treatments my pores would be drastically reduced and I would begin to see more even and smooth skin. Along with my first treatment I was given a complimentary therapy facial with left my skin glowing and feeling great! Each appointment only took roughly 30-45 min and after my first three, I definitely began noticing a difference in the appearance of my skin which has also helped boost my confidence too. This is by-far the best facial/waxing salon I have ever been to and I have tried A LOT of them in the greater Seattle area, especially for the prices! Brooke is always the person that I go to, because she is the best. However, I have taken plenty of friends with me that see other people and they always have a good experience to the point where they become returning customers. I have been going to Dermavita since approximately 2007 and I will never go somewhere else for a facial and/or waxing. I have not had any other services there. If you are looking for a relaxing/non-helpful facial just for "fun", then this may not be the right place for you. To get REAL results, you have to experience some minor pain during the extractions. However, Brooke and the rest of the team of Dermavita, do a really great job at making the experience less painful and very relaxing at the end. In all my years there, I only had one minor miscommunication problem and the owner gave me a free hour-facial because of it and it really was MINOR. They have the BEST costumer service and they are very clean, reliable, and professional. Worth every penny!!! read more

Last Saturday I had a European facial at Dermavita and I am very happy with the results. I hadn't had any treatments for almost three years but had previously been a client of Dermavita for about 7 years (both facials and massages) and was always impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the effects on my skin. And I was right to go back to them - two days after the treatment (steam, enzymatic mask, some extractions, light peel) my skin has already improved - the layer of dry skin is gone, the pores around the nose are visibly smaller, and the skin feels soft and smooth to the touch. I have very thin and sensitive skin and the estheticians at Dermavita always take it into account when recommending products and performing any treatments. This is not always the case in other places - once I had a facial at one of the mall spas and the esthetician there insisted on using a metal extractor on my nostrils even though I told her that my skin cannot handle that tool - she used it anyway:( If you have problem or delicate skin, I think Dermavita is a great place to start caring for it! read more

I have been to dermavita off and on for a few years for various services like Waxing, Adult Acne, Botox and facials and there has never been a more relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. I booked a facial recently with Sarah because I was just feeling the winter cold and dry air was really making my skin look a little lifeless and dull and it was my birthday week. Sarah was amazing, I was super stressed out with work when I arrived, and she just read my cues right that I needed to de-stress. I had a time crunch so she immediately got to work on my facial. Spending less time on the clinical side of the appointment and more time on the relaxing aspects really put me in a good place after the facial. ( I think I nearly feel asleep three times) Since my appointment and my 45th Birthday, gasp, I have referred two new clients for Sarah. I also received so many compliments on my skin over the weekend and my facial that I just had to write a review to sing her praises. I'll be back for sure! I'd like to share my experience at Dermavita with anyone whose ever had acne problems and tried everything but nothing seems to work. I've been going to Dermavita a little less than a year and my skin and gotten so much better. My face is the clearest it's been in years. I used to be so insecure about going out with friends, job interviews, but especially meeting new people. I wish I'd known about Dermavita during my teenage struggle with acne. Now that it's gone we're working to remove the scarring and red spots that were left behind. I had my first of three laser treatments two days ago and can't wait to see the end results. Another great thing is that they give free consultations. They're really honest about your skin care needs and affordable too. Plus they have their own product line, which is great. I use the BPO and salicylic acid and it keeps my skin looking its best. I can't thank them enough. I personally see Maria for my services and she's amazing! I've been getting waxed from her for several years now and I'm never disappointed! Having my brows done correctly is extremely important to me and Maria is amazing at it! I've referred several people to her and they feel the same way! Also, with currently being pregnant she has definitely catered to the hypersensitivity that comes with being pregnant! I was having some problems with my skin when entering my 20's - something I never had previously. I tried absolutely everything and I kept getting acne. I booked an appointment at Dermavita and I have now gone 5 tims and my skin is FLAWLESS!! I was booked with the incredible Dakotah and she helped me understand our skin goes through changes as we age, that my body chemically was changing. And so, my skin care line and necessities also needed to change. I have been getting customized acne facials every month since November 2016 and let me tell you, they are incredible what they do there. Everyone from the Estos to the receptionists know what they are talking about and can guide you specifically with what you are going through and help correct (in my case) or just beautify your skin. I have been a customer of Dermavita for over 15 years, going every 4-6 weeks for treatments. I've had Magda and Kathryn H. both work on my facials. They are both wonderful and very professional. Currently, for the last 10+ years, I have had Kathryn H. as my facial person. She is very knowledgable and has improved my complexion immensely. Before Dermavita, I had very pronounced acne scarring and oil production. The facials have helped with the oil production and the microderms have helped 200% with the previous acne scarring. I am a registered nurse and faithful customer. They do a terrific job! Even with the acid peels, I have never had a problem with scabbing. Of course, the peeling skin following a microderm or peel is normal. They tell you lasts a few days but it has always produced fresh glowing skin following it. Love, love, love this place! LOVE DERMAVITA!!!! I had a customized facial by Dakotah (with Microdermabrasion and Microcurrent)... She worked her magic and my skin hasn't been this soft since I was young. I have been to many different spas for facials but Dermavita's was by far better than any I've ever had... including the Woodmark Hotel Spa, Gene Juarez and countless others. Dakotah was gentle, kind, thorough and super knowledgeable. I never once felt rushed and she took her time to answer my questions. She taught me things about my skin care that no other esthetician had ever mentioned and sent me home with product for follow up care. She is top notch in her field! I have been a customer of Dermavita for over 20 years! I try to schedule a clinical facial every quarter. I am prone to acne and with the help of an occasional extraction and daily use of exfoliation products, I am able to keep skin clear! I had my teenagers go so they could also learn how to keep acne at bay without using antibiotics. I have been going to Dakota for the last 5 years and she also works with my sons. At first I thought they would be too embarrassed to go, but she knows how to connect with them and encourage them to take care of their skin. The staff are all very friendly and put you at ease. I have nothing but great things to say about Dermavita! I have visited other skin care business' before and I was not treated as well as I was here. From the moment I walked into their location with a pleasant greeting until I left, I was treated like a king. They run a very clean and customer service oriented company. Dermavita has the best facials in town. They have a variety of different types to fit your needs, but I typically do the custom facial. Sarah Thai is incredible at what she does and I would recommend asking for her! She is very knowledgeable about skin care and always gives me tips on how to improve my skins, like suggesting staying away from certain foods in my diet, to how often to use certain products. Their skin care line is also amazing. I went from having terrible acne constantly to clear skin in less than 5 months. I've been coming to Dermavita for about 15 years...maybe longer. In that time, I've had some other facials -typically because I've received them as gifts - but none have been as good as the ones I get here. I have adult acne, sensitive but thick and oily skin. Quite a fun case! The services here have helped my skin even out. All of the aestheticians have their own style and skills. For the past year, I've been seeing Dakotah and she's wonderful.
