Pilsner arrived first by mistake which I didn't touch. Turned out to be for the guy coughing real bad. Soon, mine arrived. It was one of the best tasting DIPA. I had to compliment the bartender. Apparently, this one is brewed here also. Very nice ambience especially with two copper kettles at the front. Monks stopped brewing beers for awhile. No ales.

The interior is nicely decorated with lots of rich wood. Our broken Czech was not a problem as the staff all spoke pretty good English. For dinner I ordered the Roast Rabbit with bacon & gnocchi, while P ordered Risotto with mushrooms. There was also lots of cold Pilsner and Czech wine. Everything was extremely good and we definitely enjoyed people-watching out the window next to our table. With a favorable USD to Krona conversion rate, our evening cost less than $48. Prague is absinthe capital of world! My alcoholic drink of choice is absinthe. While I don't drink…read moreoften, when I do, absinthe is one of my choices, so of course I was going to drink absinthe while I'm here. Not only does Absintherie serve as a beautiful absinthe bar, it's also a small absinthe museum! They have displays with fascinating information about the history of absinthe, and items related to the making of absinthe. Since it's a Prague specialty, I chose to drink macerated absinthe. It was so fun to watch the bartender expertly handle the drink and the flames. Once my drink was made, I wandered around Absintherie while enjoying my drink and enjoying the displays and learning omre about absinthe. They used to sell absinthe ice cream here, according to a blog I read back in the early 2010s. Unfortunately, due to regulations in Prague, absinthe ice cream is no longer offered. However, the bartender who served me quickly whipped up a small bowl for me. When I asked him how much I owe him, he said don't worry about it, they only give it to nice people.
