Ambience is great. I told the bar tender what I like and I don't and the she can recommend me a cocktail. She just nailed! Game a very good and refreshing drink. The place is The place is cozy and music is really chill and nice, goes with the ambiance. Cheers to this place

Great hole in the wall bar with wonderful staff and drinks! We came here on NYE and easily found a seat and enjoyed our drinks. They can make pretty much any drink you desire but also have a unique menu that would be worth trying. This would be a great place for a romantic drink, cool vibe with friends, or if you're looking for a cool drink experience.

Stopped by here for some drinks after dinner on a Sunday night. The small bar is tucked away up a small flight of stairs. We were quickly seated and the friendly waitress brought our first round quickly. Great presentation and flavors. Recommended stop for cocktails.

    Old fashion, attempted.

Straight off of Wenceslas Square this is definitely a tourist location but that doesn't mean it has to be terrible. The vibe is cool and so is the attention to detail and decoration. It's quite nice. Walk upstairs and it's almost like a speakeasy bar. The drinks are interesting and the menu presentation is also fun to read. It's quite dark and the mood is intimate by casual so not too pretentious. The bar is colourful. Now for the drinks. The menu that is offered for signature cocktails is a very weird set of concoctions. For example, I started with a number nine. It is quite possibly the worst way I've ever started en evening. It sounds interesting because there is lemon sorbet, raspberries, and Gin but that's right about where the drink gets odd because there's some sort of foam on top. My friend had a drink and complained that was very sweet which was my feelings about the drink I had. Disappointed I have decided to go with a classic and at first asked for a Sidecar, which is a Cognac lemon drink they did not know how to do this, so I asked for a old fashioned and the presentation was quite nice (and really the presentation of all the drinks was quite nice) but it was also too sweet, not enough bitters and it was missing a Marchiano cherry. My friend's second round was also quite sweet and he ended up not finishing it. Prices are up there given you can find beer for 35-45 a pint (half litre). Cocktails aren't Prague's strong suite and there are only a handful of places I would take out of towners to get a drink. It's disappointing. I was also perturbed with with the bartender anding the shaker to what may have been his girlfriend. The bartender made no real show and to then hand the shaker to a "customer" to shake drinks was in poor form. Further, she wasn't classy and sat on her knees with her shoes in our face. Who does that? I suppose this is probably a hipster bar, but it doesn't have a hipster flavour to it. There's some pretentiousness in it, but it doesn't have to turn you off. The clients were everywhere from classy to rolled-out-of-bed, tracksuit mafia to runway model, sexy to frumpy.

Best bar in Prague, hands down!! Had such an amazing time at Alchemist Bar! The bartenders are artists, and passionate about their craft. The service is wonderful, view is beautiful, and the atmosphere is absolutely delightful. Amazing ambiance and decor. I loved it so much, I came back twice on a 4 day visit to Prague! Thank you to the staff for their great hospitality and amazing craft cocktails! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Prague!

Found this place on Yelp and decided to check it out with my boyfriend while we were in Prague for a week. The place is super nice - music not too loud, room a little darker with candles for a more intimate atmosphere. We came in on Wednesday around 7:30PM (without reservation) and there were several tables to choose from. Vidma was our person for the night and he was just excellent. Super friendly, made us drinks that weren't on the menu (but should be!) based on our preferences. Everything was perfect, and the amount of alcohol was very generous (we left quite tipsy). The drinks are on the pricier side (but standard price if you live in the U.S.) but they are very good. Great place for a date night. We had so much fun, and definitely will be back next time we're in Prague!

Alice in Wonderland and Death by Penicillin super yummy.

This bar is a must go to if you vist Prague. The drinks were amazing with a really nice theme that has 3 different rooms. The bartenders are nice and really take the time to recommend the pergect drink for you. The drink Death By Penicillin gets 5 stars.

Wrong address! We went to Alchemist Bar near Wenceslas Square so they need to correct this! This bar is awesome - such a great experience. Amazing drinks. Amazing bartender. Amazing time. Similar to Hemingway's Bar but more approachable, lively, and interactive. The "Choose Your Fate" game is a super cool experiential twist on a bar. Cannot recommend this bar enough.

Less than average. Not friendly staff and bartenders only know or taught how to do the cocktails on the menu. A tourist trap

Not only does Absintherie serve as a beautiful absinthe bar, it's also a small absinthe museum! They have displays with fascinating information about the history of absinthe, and items related to the making of absinthe. Since it's a Prague specialty, I chose to drink macerated absinthe. It was so fun to watch the bartender expertly handle the drink and the flames. Once my drink was made, I wandered around Absintherie while enjoying my drink and enjoying the displays and learning omre about absinthe. They used to sell absinthe ice cream here, according to a blog I read back in the early 2010s. Unfortunately, due to regulations in Prague, absinthe ice cream is no longer offered. However, the bartender who served me quickly whipped up a small bowl for me. When I asked him how much I owe him, he said don't worry about it, they only give it to nice people. That was so sweet and nice of him!!! 5 stars for sure!!!!! Thank you Absintherie for being such a memorable absinthe bar in Prague!

Reservations were booked…read moreweeks in advance but we decided to test our luck as it opened and got lucky with a walk in. This is a speakeasy where you spend 1.5-2 hours choosing drinks solely from illustrations that fit into a story. You truly don't know what the drink will be aside from the types of alcohol and a few words to describe the flavor profile. There were about 6 sections for 3-4 guests in a party, which is why reservations were highly recommended. The server then comes over with the cards and describes the concept. He does ask if there were any alcohols we didn't like, then gave us the cards to choose from. A few minutes later he came back and took them to get our drinks prepared. The drinks did take a little while to prepare. The server, who was now masked, delivered our drinks. They were served with different decorations or props to enhance the story telling. Each drink was quite different and were definitely well crafted. We ended up each having two rounds but there were probably 10 drinks to choose from. Pros -This concept is quite unique, and stood out over other speakeasies in Prague. -It's intimate and classy, and the ambiance offers an elevated experience. -The story telling element added another layer of experience, you would likely order more drinks to figure out the story. How they presented each cocktail was also very photo friendly. Opportunities -You could see your neighbors experience in front of you, which took away that surprise element that they were going for. You'd see their drinks roll by and would see what's coming. We also saw their reactions to their drinks so we knew what not to order. I wish there were curtains separating each party so it was really a surprise. -I wish the staff were in masks the entire time, it would be more spooky and true to how social media presents this place. They only wore them to bring drinks over. -Drinks were upscale but definitely an acquired taste. We liked some more than others. Overall this place is unique, and with a few tweaks on tiny details, I think would be phenomenal.

I had bookmarked Tynska recently and noticed it was only a few blocks away, so we walked over. In a city that confuses me every single time I round a corner, Tynska was actually easy to locate. About time that happened! It's not too far from Old Town Square, for context. When we arrived, the door was locked in speakeasy fashion. Turns out you need to ring the bell to be allowed in. Cool way to control crowds! I'm not sure if there was a dress code or not. My roommate and I were dressed normally for the season and were permitted inside without a reservation. Perhaps they're more strict later in the night or if there's limited seating. I checked in on Yelp and an ad popped up for a free snack plate. My server didn't know about it but asked the bartender, who accepted the coupon. What arrived was seriously beautiful: a tray of delicious cheeses (four different kinds, I believe), crackers, and a semi-sweet jam. We were also given a cup of popcorn mixed with potato chips and a separate bowl of green and black olives. So good!! For drinks, my roommate ordered a red wine, which she deemed "awesome." I chose the Life is Beautiful cocktail -- made with aperol, elderflower liquer, fresh lime, and topped with Laurent Petrier Champagne. At 295 crowns ($12), it was a splurge but totally worth it considering it was likely the best cocktail I've had in months. The decor here was dim, cool and ritzy. Think Mad Men styling. Perfect for a night out with a few close friends, a date, or to enjoy solo seating at the bar. Better than a club night? I'd say there's no comparison.
