I ordered the Tonkotsu Red at a spice level 4, and let me tell you--it is SPICY! But despite the real heat, the flavor was still incredibly rich and delicious. I'm usually not a big fan of soft-boiled eggs on my ramen, but I decided to just go for it this time and I was pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere in there is great, making it a wonderful dinner spot. I'll definitely be back soon, but next time I'm dining in to get the full experience!

We arrived just as they opened and chose our favorite corner table. It didn't take long for her to choose one of their best-selling drinks -- Day Dream (Butterfly Pea Tea). And of course, the creatures of habit that we are, we kept to our favorites, starting with the Make Me Special Roll and the Howaito for our ramen. After a few sips, bites and slurps, the daughter understood why we come here often. Everything was beautifully prepared and delicious! And the service was attentive and super-friendly (as always). Unfortunately, the matcha soft serve was not available on this day. But it gives us a reason to return soon. :)

The sake we ordered (Dassai 45 - $28) was OUTSTANDING. The Howaito ramen and spicy tuna crispy rice were great and tasted classic. The cutlet was so crispy outside and SO juicy inside. Service was quick and kind!

He thought it was good, but wished there was more of the spicy meat and more veggies. He also ordered the sesame fried chicken. We thought it was VERY fried which made it hard. Tasted okay when allowed to soak in the ramen for a while. I ordered the Beef ramen. It had good broth, but the noodles were very bland and did not absorb the taste of the broth. I also ended up finding a hair in it, so it kinda ruined my appetite anyways. The seating area is a bit crowded, so avoid eating in when it's busy. The parking situation is also a bit difficult. A lot of spaces are reserved for other businesses and it fills up fast.

Ordered spicy chicken ramen, crispy chicken, pork cutlet, and spicy tonkatsu ramen and nothing was edible.. First off, spicy tonkatsu ramen...chashu pork was overcooked and texture was very rubbery. It literally looked and tasted like a piece of boiled pork belly. Soup base was not the worst and but not the best. Second, my fiance ordered the spicy chicken ramen and chicken was super dry and worst part is the chicken tasted like it was spoiled. Soup broth also had a weird sour taste to it. Pork katsu side was probably the best tasting but tasted like the same katsu i bought from costco. Last the crispy chicken was overcooked, dry, and way too much batter on the chicken. Service wasnt the best. One server in the front but was overly loud and on the phone. Overall first and last time at this place. All the food was very subpar and even tasted like they gave us spoiled meat. Beware of this restaurant...

The OG Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles that held up well from start to finish. We also tried the takoyaki, which had a lightly crisp exterior, a soft, creamy center, and plenty of savory flavor, finished with classic toppings like bonito flakes, mayonnaise, and takoyaki sauce, tying all flavors together. The service was warm and attentive, making the entire experience. If you're looking for a hidden gem that offers high-quality food and complex flavors that will keep you returning, this place is definitely worth exploring.

Susuru Ramen Bar is a real neighborhood spot for ramen, and worth the walk and the drive! The Chicken Karaage is the perfect blend of moist and crispiness, and didn't feel heavy or oily. Some places serve chicken karaage over-breaded or drenched in oil, but not Susuru! The Mayu Ramen is really where it's at though. This pork-broth base ramen with black garlic oil surprisingly uses egg noodles, so it's a richer, different taste that certainly stands out. At the same time, no singular taste overwhelms the rest of the dish, and everything from the seasoned soft boiled egg to the perfectly charred chiashu work together in one harmonious feast.
