Now this place was a nice find. I was looking for something different and unique. To my surprise I found it! It's a small comfy little restaurant. I ordered No 3. SIGNATURE Ramen Original Miso- Classic miso taste-soboro (vegan meat and tofu), corn, onion, arugula and garlic oil with added cheese Mac & Truffle And the Half 4 piece Spicy Roasted Miso Avocado Roll -Avocado,Pickled Relish , Crispy Onion, Sesame Seeds, Original Miso - Chili oil and powder The flavors were incredible! I'm so glad I chose the Signature Ramen as all the goodness was encapsulated in this dome. The Spicy Miso avocado roll was flavorful as well and the Mac and truffle was comforting. Of course it was plenty of food, enjoyed my moment here and brought the abundance back home to share with Ohana. read more

My sister highly recommended eating the ramen here on my short trip to Boston, so we tried it out, securing a table for 2 relatively immediately on a busy Sunday evening. You order at a counter then take a seat, and you'll be alerted by an electric gadget to grab your food at the counter when it's ready. The staff member at the counter was very friendly and knowledgeable about accommodating to dietary restrictions and allergies. Each of the ramens can be ordered Standard or Signature (additional $1 for a smoked ramen). We tried the standard ginger curry (somewhat spicy) and the yuzu sesame (option to add spice which was mildly spicy). I am amazed that everything is plant-based as some of the plant protein (yuba tofu skin) tasted very close to beef. I loved the yuzu sesame broth which was not too salty and had a bit of subtle tartness. Would definitely get it again! The curry broth meanwhile was very rich and flavorful with spice. I'm so glad we decided to stop by! read more

Amazing vegan and vegetarian Ramen options on Newbury street. We came here for lunch and this small restaurant was packed. You order at the front of the line and find a table for your party. The food comes out pretty quickly too! The Mac and cheese is no go for me it felt too heavy on the onion crisps and it was very alright. We got the truffle and though truffle is good this Mac and cheese felt very overpowering when paired with the Ramen. The ramen however was delicious. We got the original and the yuzu ramen and both were fantastic. The yuzu was more on the citrusy side but the broth was still so yummy. Lots of toppings and a ton of options to choose from here! read more

The ramen here is so flavorful, it's amazing. The menu is sort of small, and they offer ramen and sushi. I got the garlic miso ramen and I would definitely recommend it. It's loaded with toppings, the broth is hearty and flavorful, and the portion was large, making it worth the money! I would go back for sure. read more

We already loved this place but the updated menu had even more to enjoy!!! We loved it so much we had to come back the next day. The service was super friendly. The cashier checked to see if we had been there before so he could answer any questions we had. There were so many new items in the menu we had to try them all! There was the addition of "signature style" which involved injecting smoke into a dome that covered the ramen. This added a light smoky flavor to the ramen. Not essential but it definitely added a smoky touch to the food. Here's what we had over the two visits: -Mac n cheese -truffle Mac n cheese -Roasted Miso Avocado (8 pieces) -Yuzu Sesame Ramen +signature -Ginger Curry Ramen +signature -Original Miso Ramen +signature -Truffle Salt Miso Ramen +signature Come hungry and order as many things as you can! You will not regret it! There was a general consensus among the non-vegans that this ramen was sure to satisfy. The broth was rich & decadent and full of flavor. The protein they use is a combination of crumbled tofu and yuba (tofu skin) which was seasoned and prepared to deliver tons of umami goodness. The "sushi" was picture perfect and incredibly flavor-packed without being overwhelming. The topping was smooth and creamy with fried scallions for crunch. The plump sushi rice was infused with pops of pickled daikon radish which offered bursts of flavor as you work through each bite. If you are a fan of Japanese flavors, this place kicks everything up several notches. I can't wait to come back again next year when we're in town for Boston Marathon! read more

We rated this a top 5 ramen place in Boston. The food gives you that warm homemade feel but for this who like a moody ramen atmosphere, you may not like the bright white led lights inside (unless they've updated them since). If the line at Santouka around the corner is too long, this is a great second option. read more

Thoroughly impressed. A friend of mine was telling me about some ramen spot she saw on TikTok that we HAD to try out. I'm not vegan/vegetarian and the thought of no meat in my ramen was new to me and my experiences, but I was still down to go over and try it..and let me tell you... I'm SO glad I did. The rolls were also big and rich with seasoning, sauces, and a nice texture. The line stretched out into the streets of Newbury when we got there on a chilly day. I didn't mind since I was with great company. Wait time was approx. 25-35 minutes when I went on a Saturday evening. This place was PACKED to the literal BRIM so if you don't struggle with tight, crowded spaces, you should be good for dine-in. If not, takeout might be your best bet. Is it worth the hype? I definitely think so. I'd say, if you're looking for a different and TASTY hot bowl of ramen, this is a great spot to try. It's for sure different from all the other ramens I've tried. read more

Came here after a friend recommended this vegan ramen spot on Newbury St! Despite it being a smaller restaurant, they have plenty of seating for groups of 1 to 4 people. I didn't know that this isn't the standard sit down restaurant where you get seated and served so I was a confused at first when I walked in. They took my order at the front counter, gave me a buzzer, and invited me to find my own seat. Loved the ambience- dimly lit and upbeat music! Signature red hot miso (8.5/10): Big portion and plenty of toppings. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the broth was very rich and flavorful despite it being boneless broth. However, if you can't handle spice, I wouldn't recommend this one since it was pretty spicy. The smoke was a lovely surprise and cool experience! read more

Redwhite may be my new favorite vegan spot! I happened upon this place not even realizing it was vegan until halfway through my dish- it was that good! I loved the spicy truffle salt broth, the toppings were all delicious, and the noodles were soft and bouncy. The "signature" smoke is a fun addition but not sure it does much in terms of flavor. I was also unexpectedly fan of the vegan sushi as well with crispy rice, crunchy toppings, and tasty sweet miso sauce. Once you find a seat the restaurant has a cozy vibe but waiting in line for a table to open after ordering in such a small space is a bit uncomfortable. Service is friendly but pretty much just takes your order at the beginning. Definetly worth a try for vegans and non vegans! read more

BEWARE! There is NO meat, fish or eggs. Vegan ONLY. Arrived today and it was our first meal in Boston! We saw the reviews and thought ok 4.2 stars!! We wish we read more than one review. We ordered Garlic miso and spicy garlic miso. The spicy was not spicy. Ordered two rolls Roasted Miso avocado and the Spicy Miso avocado. The taste was ok but it was missing MEAT. Spent close to $70. We are meat lovers and were disappointed and didn't even finish our food. About to head to shake shack for a double cheese burger now after feeling deprived!!!! read more

Smoked ramen?! I've had smoked meat, cocktails, and fish... never ramen, until now! I was also fascinated by their "boneless" claim: I think it's their way of saying "vegan" without immediately scaring off carnivores like myself. Okay, so how was it? Well, it had the makings of something delicious, but failed in practice and application. I ordered a signature (I.e. smoked) #3 original miso, spicy. The smoke added some terrific flavor to the veggies and toppings. The flavor is subtle, but noticeable. Gives it an extra dimension that I love. The ingredients were enjoyable, in generous amounts, and worked very well together. While I'm a Chashu (pork) lover, their soboro was a fair substitute and added some decent savory flavors. The remaining veggies were solid also. The broth is where things go wrong. On the plus side, it was very rich and savory. However, two-and-a-half things made it go south. One, the salt level was astronomical. I get that ramen is a salty food, but this was like a bowl of low-sodium soy sauce! (I exaggerate, but not very much). Two, richness is great, but in this case (esp. combined with the salt) overpowered everything else. Half: while there was a wisp of heat, it was very mild; only a half since my taste buds are fire-hardened. There are three more things serving as the final nails in the coffin. The Vibe: looking at the photos, Redwhite used to have some personality. Then, I suspect they hired someone who was a bit too much of a Rolling Stones fan. Walls, chairs, and tables are black. Floor? Grey. Lightning, minimal. You'd think I was on a suburban patio at night! The space wasn't hostile, but not inviting in the least. The dripping HVAC: I get that it's *probably* only water, but I don't want the A/C dripping on me or into my food. I am not sure why, especially when the temp was in the 70's, but fact remains. Indoor dining is a place I hope not to get rained on. Shocking hazard: there's a light switch with a missing cover plate under the paper towels where people are swinging their wet hands. This is a recipe for tragedy, either a fire or electric shocks. Thus, while exciting in theory, it ended up being smoked liquid salt, while being rained on and possibly zapped in a not welcoming environment does not warrant a return trip. read more

What a wonderful place for vegans. Ended up going there twice during our stay in Boston Excellent and rich broth. Tried the Yuzu, Garlic Miso, Spicy miso. Very satisfying. Second time we tried one as signature where they added smoke. Nice touch and oooh moment when opening the lid. The smoke does not do much beyond that. The appetizer spicy roasted miso avacado was ok. Spicy Mac and cheese was also ok. I would focus on the ramens Highly recommended the place. One thing to note, the place is small and crowded on weekends for lunch. We had quite a bit of wait to get a table for four as they don't take the order until seat is available and you have to wait at the counter. They don't let you leave or take your number to call you when a table is available. Something they could improve on. Second time during weekday no issue finding a seat read more

This place is legit! My friends and I were walking around Back Bay and decided to check it out. I'm a bit of a meat lover myself, but I was curious to try a veggie alternative. Not gonna lie, I didn't even end up missing the meat. I asked the staff which flavor they recommended, and so I went with the Red Hot Miso. You can get it signature style, meaning essentially smoked. When your order is ready, the soup comes covered, with smoke seeping out. It added a really unique flavor! I dined at the restaurant, but had plenty to take home. It's a pretty casual spot, but there's a decent amount of seating. I'd love to come back and try some of their other options next time. read more

i was pleasantly surprised to find that BU/boston has a vegan ramen restaurant. it is very popular but the line does move quite quickly. this is a no reservation casual ramen spot where you wait in queue and fill out your order. once you get to the counter you hand the menu over with your selection and pay with the cashier. they'll give you a beeper that tells you when your food is ready for pickup. we enjoyed the garlic and spicy ramen though i thought the spicy ramen was a bit too salty and the garlic ramen could use more depth - it was perfect for us to mix the two ramen flavors together. i'll definitely come back next time we are in boston! read more

Great convenient lunch spot with great tasting vegan ramen. I came in thinking it was a sit down full service restaurant like most Boston places, my mistake. It was refreshing though to just order and grab a seat. I got the spicy miso ramen and it was delicious and full of flavor. The noodles were not my favorite, but that's just preference. I also tried a bit of the ginger curry and I think that tasted even better. I will definitely be returning especially with winter around the corner! Sorry for the bad news :( read more

This review is going to be a mixed bag. Ramen itself was 3.5/5 - we ordered the Ginger& Yuzu Sesame, both of which were nice but I've had better vegan ramen. The place is small, dingy (maybe it's aesthetic, but I don't get it) and there's only a small table lamp for light. You can barely look at the person you are talking to. The place is self service - you order & pay at the register first, they give you a buzzer to pick the food from the front and get it to your table and then once you are done eating, you clear the tray/bowls and keep them out in front. Make sure you clean your table too, duh! I'm happy to do it this way, but had I known this while placing our order, I'd probably have adjusted my tip accordingly :) read more

Perhaps it's my ignorance, maybe it's really authentic, but it just wasn't very tasty for me. We had the original, the yutsu (5) and curry ramen (7) and Mac&cheese. The miso soup didn't taste like any miso I had before, there were lots of stuff in it and crowded the pallette. There were simply too much stuff, which I normally wouldn't complain, but this was just too much. The curry ramen was pretty heavy with the curry and perhaps isn't for everyone kat least not for me). Overall, for the price, I think there are better options. read more

Vegetarian and gluten free food is hard to find, so I can appreciate the effort. However, flavor and texture are still appreciated. We got both ramen and the "rolls". The "rolls" being in quotation marks because nothing was rolled: but instead was guacamole (unseasoned) over a bed of what could have been crispy rice. The rice however was a mushy gloopy mess, with an added burnt flavor from what I assume was a crème brûlée torch. On top of that it was smothered in crispy onions. I can appreciate crispy onions, but the ratio of "roll" to crispy onions was about 50:50. Leaving my tissues permeated with onion flavor. Furthermore, the ramen had the flavor of sesame seed soup. Not bad if you like the predominant flavor of tahini. However it was the equivalent texture of peanut butter mixed with water. The noodles (while helpful that they were rice) had a similar gloopy texture that had to be choked down. It was garnished with pubic hair appearing sprouts that added nothing but more soggy gloop to the gloop soup. Overall, 1/10. 1 point for effort read more

This is my second time going to REDWHITE ramen, and I've enjoyed the food both times. I typically avoid Newbury street unless it's a weekday because parking can be tough. Be sure to circle the block multiple times to try and find parking. The restaurants website makes it look way more formal than it really is, as the vibe is very casual. The menu is simple, but I really appreciate the gluten free options! Huge plus for me. My friend is vegan, and she really enjoyed the food. They no Longer have the miso avocado, but the new rolls are a different spin on sushi and were pretty good- even though I thought the price was a tad high. My #7 ginger curry gluten free was great. I could've done more spicy, but I really enjoyed the flavors. I eat meat but didn't really miss the meat here. I would definitely come back again, even with the parking. My only note is there's no real server so we had to push our own tables together and no one cleaned them off. No sure if any cleaning solution is used when the tables are wiped off. read more

Pretty good taste and a good amount of food for the price (my friend and I split a bowl and left feeling satiated but not stuffed). Everything is vegan but the dish is good enough that nothing felt lacking, coming from a meat lover. The curry taste is really rich but towards the end, I got too much of the ginger flavor which is less than ideal. Loved the noodle texture and the arugula (a strange but not unwelcome addition)! The restaurant is small and wasn't crowded when I went (12 in the afternoon on a Thursday). I liked that water was self serve and that we could clear our own dish when we're done. For a restaurant that's fairly small and super popular, they run a tight ship. The man at the front was seating ppl fast, the sign upfront said there's a min one order per person rule and a 45min time limit to sit at tables. The person taking orders also set time expectations, and our order was perfect, hot, delicious! We got the #1 ramen for our daughter which was mild enough for her, the Japanese curry one for my husband (loved it) and the red hot (dragon's breath is the same thing) for me plus mac and cheese for our son. It was plenty of food (we could have done with one less thing) and we enjoyed it. I think my ramen could have done with a little more veggies so I would take advantage of the toppings if I were there again (we are visiting from out of town) Great service, excellent food, 5 stars read more

Food: 3.5/5 | Service: 4.5/5 | Experience: 4/5 I had never been to a vegan ramen establishment, so this place was unique to me. Upon entering a relatively small restaurant, you can order at the counter and get a buzzer for when your bowl is ready to pick up. After eating, there's a rack to set your dishes and throw your trash away. I ordered the masterpiece ramen. I really appreciated the effort gone into the presentation of all the different types of vegetables in the soup. It was beautiful, and the portion size was pretty large. I did find that the dish was quite a bit saltier than to my liking, which was a little disappointing as I had high hopes. Soul touching ramen, exactly what you'll get here! During my trip I was looking for vegan ramen options and stumbled upon this place, got curios to see this is an all vegan place with so many ramen options (rare to find). Its a small plce but very crowded during peak times. Food comes out quickly but the service is okay! Got the 3. Yuzu sesame per suggestion from the person there. I was asking for something creamy and they suggested this. Flavor was great, quantity amazing, price reasonable for the location. I visited two more times and got 7. Ginger Curry. This time i asked for spicy suggestion. And OH MY GOD this was mind blowingly delicious! My mouth is literally watering while i write this review. If you are confused which one to choose, go for GINGER CURRY please and thank me later. The avocado miso roll on the other side was way too salty. I am an Asian vegan foodie, so you'd think this would be the place for me. However, the food is always lackluster in my opinion. The ramen is mediocre at best and never has enough spice. Save your money. Go else where Boston yet alone surrounding tones have plenty of better ramen spots. Food: Not so good low quality ingredients, stale noodles, table spoon of tofu, tablespoon of chili oil and a hint of left green. The signature which is a smoke on top is such a gimmick an extra dollar for smoke that smells like your food is burnt and it adds nothing to the flavor of the dish. Service: The person at the counter is friendly. Nice and aims to explain the menu as much as they can. It was speedy and clean menu. Ambiance: It feels dead and sad inside. Way too dark and lit by these tiny table lights. Your ramen bowl is as high as the light so doesn't light much. It feels grim and more of a sad library feel than a vibrant noodle shop. read more

My friend brought me here one day because she was craving ramen but is also vegetarian and while I admit I was a little skeptical at first, that all diminished at the first bite of this ramen place. I've never tried vegetarian or vegan friendly ramen before but this place is so delicious! I've come here several times now and it never feels like I'm missing out on eating meat because the broth and additional ingredients they put in the soup is so flavorful. The place is also really cute and quaint. You have to walk down the steps as it is below street level, but really adds to that full Bostonian ambiance, which I think is really exciting!
