4.5! We don't have great donuts where we live, so it is always fun to try donuts while we travel. Other reviewers said they are known for apple fritter and I can taste why. The apple fritter is everything you want - not greasy, full of apples, a good glaze, and huge. The regular glazed old fashioned is very solid as well as the fried cinnamon roll.

Two large coffees, part of a blueberry donut, part of the coffee cake donut, and regular raised glazed donut

DH came here to pick up a few donuts and coffee for us. There is a back parking lot with more spaces. He said this place definitely had a diner vibe. It is not bougie. This is where the regular people get their breakfast items. It took a while to get the order filled, as one worker was occupied making bagel sandwiches. DH wished there were labels on the donuts. Employees were nice and friendly. The blueberry donut was the best one of the bunch. It is not available every day, but it is a "special" quite often. Popular too, as they were nearly sold out around 8 AM. Very delicate texture, packed with blueberry flavor, topped with glaze, it was the crowd favorite. Ohhhhh...we wished we got more! The plain glazed was a good size, super soft and fluffy, without any stale oil aftertaste. Excellent! The coffee cake donut was good, packed with strong cinnamon flavor, perfect with their coffee. Coffee is strong and hearty. Nothin' fancy, but had enough caffeine to keep us goin' all morning long. Pretty good deal for 3 donuts and 2 large coffees for less $10. Next time, we will get more blueberry donuts and maybe try the bagel sandwiches!

Don't say you have something when you don't. 10am on a Wednesday and your donuts looked like crap. Shady area. We left.

Our kiddo got a sesame bagel with cream cheese and lox and loved it! I had a sesame bagel with egg, cheddar, crispy bacon (and it was crispy), and avocado. Even toasted it was still soft and fluffy enough. It has to be one of the best (if NOT the greatest) bagels I've ever had in my life. I'm definitely recommending this place. Also, the bottle of water I later got didn't seem to cost an arm and a leg, either. My husband did have and like the French toast coffee. Service seemed quick and they are very nice. They didn't mess anything up and they specifically only put the food items you ask for on the bagels. I've been other places where they put tons of pepper on my sandwiches and it's been impossible for me to eat and enjoy. They have ample seating inside with very soft music and a restroom for their customers. Absolute perfection, crispy on the outside with that caramelized, slightly charred sugar, and packed with soft apple pieces inside. The texture balance was unreal: crunchy edges with a soft, sweet center. The ube donut was good too, definitely on the sweeter side. If you love sweet treats, you'll enjoy it, but I personally wished the ube flavor came through a bit more to balance it out. The blueberry donut was another standout. Super soft and muffin-like with plenty of blueberry flavor throughout, plus a nice outer layer for texture. Honestly way better than a typical chain version. Donut holes were solid as well, simple, fresh, and satisfying. Overall, everything tasted fresh and high quality. Service was fast, and the baker was super friendly, hooked it up with extra donuts, which made the experience even better. The vibe was welcoming, and it's definitely a spot worth checking out. I'll be back for sure.

I liked that the music wasn't blaring loud. The sandwiches were both good (chicken salad and a turkey). The bread was soft and seemed fresh on both sandwiches. The creme brulee latte was okay; the flavor wasn't really detectable. And the cherry danish was dry (the breading) and seemed like it's been sitting there for several days. But there was a good amount of cherry filling. The young lady at the counter, and the young man at the pick up window, were both polite and warm. It's in a shopping center, so there was ample parking. Overall, it was a better than expected experience for a chain store.

They were out of everything: salads, lettuce, apples, strawberries, and other menu items. It seems as though either A) who ever ordered didn't know how to calculate how much food is needed and how they go through in a typical week B) their food order didn't arrive on time-- there's a delay On another note: the place was absolutely filthy! Bugs/flies coming out of the trash. Dirty plates piled at the trash bins. The tables and booths were dirty--sticky, crumbs left behind, water on the table The doors, windows, handles were dirty --dusty like no one has cleaned those areas in months. The carpet looked like it hasn't been vacuumed in a long time. The floors were visibly dirty. The baseboards were dirty filled with dust. Cobwebs on the light fixtures. Surprisingly the bathroom was somewhat decent-- I would have expected it to be worse. The cashier had AirPods on-- from what I know of food safety AirPods, headphones are not allowed in food service for danger of contaminating food and safety. The soup we ordered was lukewarm. I distrusted eating the food for worry of getting sick. I would recommend they do a compliance walk on their own before an inspector arrives. They will fail if they had one now. (These are my observations) I don't recommend this place until they figure out how to address their lack of cleanliness, food availability, and possibly staff shortage.

Lots of different merch to look at while waiting for order- coffee beans, olive oil, delicious looking bagged cookie, biscotti, hot dog buns and kitschy toys. Pros- service was friendly , helpful and patient! Pastries were top notch. We've been hitting bakeries all over Carmel and Monterey and liked these the best. The cream bun and earl grey bun were our favorites with the cardamom bun and chocolate croissant a close second and third. The dough on all these had great layers which has been missing in a lot of the pastries we've had while bakery hopping. The sun-dried tomato and cheese scone was the best savory scone I've ever had. Coffee- I got a latte with half serving of the miso caramel bc I was worried it would be too sweet (I'm a flat white gal). It tasted perfect and went well with the sweet pastries. My family got iced lattes with the miso caramel and the tonka vanilla. They liked them but thought they were light on flavor. If fancy lad coffee is your priority then probably not the place for you lol. Cons- parking is of course challenging but same for every business around there. Some long-haired guy looking like he came out of the 1960s was wearing a sleeveless-type vest (no tee shirt underneath) with his gnarly long-hairy armpits was working behind the counter. As people were ordering various items, he was reaching over the food with his bushy Sasquatch armpits. It was so disturbingly disgusting that I decided to order a coffee instead of food for fear one of his revolting hairs would land on my pastry bag . I nearly started to gag. Further, to complicate our already bad experience, was made even worse with a rude barista making our drinks didn't want us to wait for our coffees where she's making them in an already cramped tiny bakery. We were pretty confused where to wait to pick up our drinks so we just left. I think better quality of help would benefit this establishment considering the availability of talent out there. Needless to say, this was an embarrassing experience for myself and my friends forcing us to head to the Bookworks for coffee, instead. I won't be coming back to this nasty place.
