We work right up the street and have been here several times. Despite them messing up our order several times we still continued to give them more chances. Today is probably the last day we go back. We ordered a plain bagel with plain cream cheese and they gave us a bagel with cheddar in the cream cheese? We also ordered a bagel with garlic & herb cream cheese and received a bagel with regular cream cheese. We really wanted to love this new food option in our area but have been extremely disappointed each time we went. If you decide to go here make sure you check your order before you leave the store.

    Everything is AI

The AI menu really isn't doing this business any favors. As a customer we don't want to see a bunch of AI slob that doesn't accurately show the food. Remove the Ai and switch it out with real pictures to see what we are purchasing. Thanks.

Stopped by the other day and was so impressed! The service was excellent, with a friendly and welcoming staff. There were plenty of donut and bagel options to choose from, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The donuts were fresh, the bagels were amazing, and the Honey Dew smoothie was so yummy and refreshing. Definitely worth a visit--I'll be back!

Went during soft opening. Only had the boba and the Vietnamese coffee and both were amazing. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the store was really clean. We didn't try the food yet.

    Charred bagel

My bagel was so burnt it left char on my fingers. $15 Breakfast bagel had no cheese. I don't know how it's possible to mess up a bagel this badly and somehow think it's OK to serve? Matcha latte was also unevenly mixed. Absolutely unacceptable.

M-10 (bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel)

The M-10 bagel sandwich with bacon, egg and cheese arrived hot and fresh. One of the best bagel sandwiches I've had in a while. The black coffee was excellent, donuts are great with a wide variety to choose from. Lots of coffee and smoothie options as well. Service was great. Can't wait to come back!

Soft opening 30 percent off, until 08/03. So far very nice service. Has boba and sandwiches

Absolute perfection, crispy on the outside with that caramelized, slightly charred sugar, and packed with soft apple pieces inside. The texture balance was unreal: crunchy edges with a soft, sweet center. The ube donut was good too, definitely on the sweeter side. If you love sweet treats, you'll enjoy it, but I personally wished the ube flavor came through a bit more to balance it out. The blueberry donut was another standout. Super soft and muffin-like with plenty of blueberry flavor throughout, plus a nice outer layer for texture. Honestly way better than a typical chain version. Donut holes were solid as well, simple, fresh, and satisfying. Overall, everything tasted fresh and high quality. Service was fast, and the baker was super friendly, hooked it up with extra donuts, which made the experience even better. The vibe was welcoming, and it's definitely a spot worth checking out. I'll be back for sure.

First of all, this is a historic bakery in a landmark building in downtown Monterey. As I approached, there was a short line on a Friday around 11 am. After a short wait, I reached the counter and scanned the pastry selection before picking several, asking the kind lady to pack them in two boxes and I brought a couple items back for a friend. After my purchase, I walked to the back area and noticed an outdoor dining area (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=ykERHL4g-pQklkgNQ0Vrsg) besides the counter area (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=-ieBhqZ5feBuptEl0S_sNw) and a small dining room inside (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=TD9doolFBh0oHc9lES_1eQ) (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=95x2W27l2Ab0PGph3FmdhQ). With meals scheduled for the rest of the day, I didn't start on anything until the next morning with the donut (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=0MJJ8kT57A1DTm3XZQFJXQ) for breakfast. It was interesting with the colorful topping; I did not ask the flavor but guessing it was raspberry. It was okay as I like my donuts a little less cakey. The next item that I tried was the blondie (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=XJNQw54ud1nxci3EZF5DXw); I really enjoyed this for dessert a few days later at home. It's been awhile so I really enjoyed this as there was plenty of chocolate pieces to contrast with the dough flavor. Next, I tried the carrot cake cookie (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=96&select=WYgw9_utf096q83PjynR8g) which I enjoyed as it wasn't overly rich. I was only okay with the almond financier (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=rC2OVgro1o-vIE2rVCNqtg) as the flavors sounded more interesting than they were. I enjoyed the chocolate buckwheat cookie (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=P6gb3w4hu0CRRQBOPc46jQ) which was very chocolatey. The line was about six deep when I arrived but it moved quickly. The order taker and cashier are efficient. There is coffee and other beverages available as well as meal items and wine and beer after 11 am (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=144&select=6Utt7H0U46KbXamwZoiwrQ). I will return and perhaps have lunch here on another visit. Nice to see more historic places especially for a bakery aptly named.

The cake donut was described as a "premium" option, which surprised me because it felt pretty standard. The coconut topping was minimal, just a light sprinkle, and the frosting was unusually heavy and thick. It didn't taste like a typical glaze or bakery frosting--instead it reminded me of the dense, processed frosting you'd find on packaged snack cakes. I ended up peeling most of it off and wouldn't order it again. The sugar donut itself also didn't stand out. It had an odd aftertaste that reminded me slightly of cinnamon, though I'm not sure if that was from the oil or the dough. Overall it didn't taste very fresh, and I didn't enjoy it enough to finish. Overall, the pricing is reasonable for the area, but the quality didn't match expectations. I actually ended up throwing the sugar one away and eating the cake donut after peeling off the frosting. The shop itself feels more like a small diner counter than a dedicated donut shop, with a few donut options alongside a basic counter setup. I wouldn't return based on this visit.

Everything about it was wrong. The dryness of the bread, the apparent lack of butter, the use of powdered milk, the overly sugariness of the almond paste itself. The marina coffee shop used to carry an almond croissant from another bakery, which I was really looking forward to. So when I bit into this one, I was immensely disappointed. Taste is subjective so I can't say that it's terrible, but I really wanted to throw out the remainder of what I was eating.

From the year 2086. $11 for a plain cinnamon roll the size of a Pillsbury refrigerated tube roll is diabolical. A family of 4 getting dessert here might as well just do that second mortgage now. Let alone the $7.25 for an 8oz Red Bull for that mom on vacation just trying to get by. The flavor? Not worth $11 I can assure you. Truly feels like a tourist trap masquerading as an old timey local haunt. If you're thinking to yourself "I REALLY just need a cinnamon roll...I'm hankering for that sweet, sweet, gooey, sticky cinnamonny treat!" This ain't gonna cure that hankerin', chief. It was both miraculously dry AND wet somehow. Like some kind of kinetic sand. Not to mention, the cinnamon level sat at about a 3 out of 10. But, to be fair, the term "slightly seasoned roll" doesn't really have a nice ring to it. Save your money. Bake them from a grocery store tube. You can get a dozen for the same price to be honest. Plus, you won't have to heat it up in the microwave like they do here (when the oven is right next to it). I'm convinced these 5 star reviews are bots, family friends or Lilly Mae's was the first cinnamon roll these poor people have ever had. Someone in the suspicious 5-star section mentioned California being "more expensive". I get that, I'd have no issue paying $11+ dollars for a small cinnamon roll if it was an ACTUAL quality product and not something thrown together and slapped into an oven for a quick buck to make seaside rent.
