When my home trapping…read moreefforts were unsuccessful in capturing much of what had become a large infestation, I contacted four companies to inspect and provide quotes. One company provided a $17K quote excluding replacing the attic insulation and refused to do the project unless I paid for a concrete rat slab install. This was our first issue of this type after 20 years in the house and I did not see a need for a concrete rat slab. The other three companies were more price competitive. I thought Sean provided the best inspection presentation and discussion, explaining considerations, answering my questions and working on a plan for long-term resolution of the problem while managing to a reasonable cost. I selected Mr. Attic for the job and Sean and Rachel proved to be good communicators and project managers. We had them clean out and rodent proof our attic as well, even though there was no recent sign of rat activity there. There was significant damage to HVAC ducts under the house which Mr. Attic cleaned, repaired, and replaced as was needed, and we also had them replace the insulation in the attic. Our total project cost was one-third of the "slab required" company even with attic insulation added. The crew that did the work was professional in their actions while working throughout our house and did a great job clearing out all the old materials in the crawlspace and attic. They rodent proofed the attic, crawlspace, and even our garage to close off any points of entry. We believe their HVAC duct work and attic insulation has benefited our household climate control and reduced energy usage. We just hit the two year mark since the last rats were captured and there has not been a single reoccurrence. I was very pleased with the work done by Mr. Attic and have recommended their service many times to others experiencing rodent infestations.

They did however accidentally tapped 2 of them in side, so they came back out and created a small opening to let them go (for a fee, but still the total cost was less that the others) and then a few days later when all was clear, they closed up the opening (no fee for coming back to close the opening, very nice) to resolve the issue.

We have a crawlspace in our house that needed some TLC. Sure it provides a way to route air ducts…read moreand water pipes along with raising the house on pillars. However, crawlspaces can get moldy and wet from lack of care. If you ever encounter rodents, there is a good chance they came via the crawlspace. After all, we do hear noises at night at times, which is creepy. Jacob visited and gave a comprehensive review and estimate. We basically went for a full package of rodent control, cleaning, and installing a new vapor shield to keep it dry. The while job took maybe 2.5 days with a crew of 3 workers each day. Outstanding quality work. First phase was sealing up the homes around the house and crawlspace, and laying traps. The attic was inspected too. This was followed up with weekly followups to ensure no more rodents. This scope was subcontracted to Golden State Critter Control. Highly recommend working with Greg. The next two phases involve cleaning and eventually reinstallation of the vapor shield. Compared to what we had before, it was day and night! I also appreciated the crew alerting me to a leaky drain pipe. I later worked with a plumber to replace a cracked 3"D drain pipe that connected upstairs to downstairs. It was fixed in about 3 hours with two plumbers. Definitely recommend Crawlspace Clean for rodent control and crawlspace cleaning. 5 stars.

The cleaners were very careful to keep the area around the workspace very clean and safe. Working below the foundation cleared debris and then sterilized the area. Then removing rat contamination and feces from the attic and the existing contaminated insulation. All questions were answered on the spot and any concerns were taken care of immediately. Even a missed closet was taken care of the next day. The cleaning and sterilization was done in 5 days. Due to the size of the home and the time to clean and replace the insulation. We are very happy and impressed with the results. Here are some before and after pictures Also Matt at "Golden State Critter Control" was great. And regards to our insulation removal and replacement guys. Francisco and Jose R. Great Job guys. And thanks to "CalTek Plumbing and Rooter" for notifying us of the problem.

After getting multiple estimates from different rodent and insulation companies, I can confidently…read moresay that Honest Rodent Proofing was by far the best experience!!! Best company - by far- in the Bay Area. AND they a the licensed too! Verrrrry important!! Many companies on Yelp are not licensed companies. AJ and his team went above and beyond to make sure everything was done 100% right. They were incredibly thorough, detail-oriented, and took the time to explain everything along the way. AJ especially stands out. He is a very reasonable guy, and transparent with what needed to be done, which sadly seemed like a rarity these days in the business world. I can tell he genuinely cares about doing the job properly and treating his customers fairly. At no point did I feel pressured or upsold (like I did with the several other companies I met with) just honest advice and quality work. He even offered to come over after the job was done to do a final walkthrough and address any concerns (if any) with my dad. The whole team was professional, hardworking, and they clearly take pride in what they do. If you are dealing with rodents or insulation issues and want a company you can trust, go with Honest Rodent Proofing! Thank you AJ, Yami, Jazmin, Aldo, Brian Ray, Sam, Francisco, Esequiel, Clemente, and the rest of the team!!!!

I would say, they did an excellent job - Starting with Jeremy, who accommodated my schedule for preliminary inspect and gave me a on the spot quote. Elder and the guys did an excellent job in covering up the entire house and finished the job in 2 days. My house had no insulation in the walls- to very less in the attic. After the insulation my Heat as well as Cold is retained inside the house. Heat turns on once in a 24 Hr cycle vs multiple times in an hour previously. If you are thinking of in wall insulation, it's totally worth it. The quote was the most competitive and they were very flexible. I am still closing out the multiple holes in the wall, will take time as i prefer to do it myself- I had plans to paint anyway .

I was initially impressed with what seemed like a thorough and well-considered estimate. It felt…read morelike the team really evaluated my attic and cooling needs. The addition of two QuietCool fans also seemed like a major plus, as I was already familiar with the product and expected it would significantly help with cooling. When it came to the insulation work, I was very pleased. The crew did an excellent job removing the old insulation and installing the new. They worked efficiently, protected my floors well, and ensured that no insulation debris entered the living areas. That part of the job was handled professionally. However, I was less impressed with the radiant barrier installation. This may partly be due to a misunderstanding on my end, as I expected a different type of material, but the end result did not meet my expectations. The biggest issue, unfortunately, was the installation of the fans. At best, it was very poorly executed. The fans are 16" units with 12" duct openings, yet they were installed directly against the gables, which severely restricts airflow. Proper installation should have included a box or shroud to help direct airflow effectively through the fans. Because of this poor airflow, the fans do not cool the attic--in fact, they appear to make things worse. I can actually watch the temperature on the thermostat increase when the fans are turned on. I reached out to my representative multiple times, but the response was disappointing. I was told they could not take the fans back, and when I asked why the attic temperature increases when they are running, I was told there was no explanation and nothing further could be done. As temperatures continue to rise, I'm left frustrated that I spent $1,200 on two fans that perform the opposite of what was promised, with no meaningful support or resolution offered. UPDATE: After posting my initial review, I was contacted by both the project manager and the owner. I reiterated the reasons for my frustration, explaining that my review reflected my honest impression of what I saw as a lack of clear communication and effective management of the project and customer expectations. The project manager apologized for the communication breakdown and asked if I would be open to giving them an opportunity to make things right. A technician was then sent out, and he took the time to fully understand the issue, carefully examine the installation, and make several adjustments to the original work. He believes these changes will help improve airflow in the attic. Since my attic has some unique characteristics, he also provided helpful suggestions for additional ways to improve cooling and airflow--something I feel should have been addressed during the initial planning stage of the project. Whether these changes will result in significant improvement remains to be seen; I'll have a better sense once the weather warms up. I do appreciate the follow-up and the willingness of the project manager to reach out and try to make things right, and I have updated my review accordingly. That said, I want to be clear that the increase in my rating is largely due to the technician and the time he invested in evaluating the full situation, as well as both implementing and proposing thoughtful solutions.
