Joe in bike repairs answered our initial phone call. Knew exactly what the problem was. Told us to come on over and problem was fixed within a few minutes at a very reasonable fee. We are super happy and grateful read more

his review is overdue. I have been buying my bikes, parts, and having maintenance done at Sports LTD for over 20 years. The customer service, quality of work, and selection never leave anything to be desired. They are the first place I suggest anytime someone wants to get into biking or looking for good camping gear. I participated in the Tin Man this year, and if it weren't for Joe and Sports LTD I wouldn't have been able to. Joe and his wife were there bright and early. Since they are a Specialized dealer they just happened to have the exact nut that was missing from tire. This experience is the exact type of service you can expect from Sports LTD. read more

The service at the bike shop is professional, personable, friendly, timely, and the prices are reasonable. I come here for all of my bicycle needs. read more

I came in for a full tune on my snowboard after an unexpected incident on the mountain. I was in town for work and was continuing on to Oregon so I only had a few days to get it done. They did a great job and quickly too! Super friendly staff and very fair prices. I would recommend to anyone in Redding. Thank you! read more

As a new transplant to Redding, I wanted to get into biking and was recommended to come to this shop for my biking needs. I have been blown away by the friendly and welcoming bike mechanics at this shop. Joe and Andy are super knowledgeable and very patient with teaching me the basics of the sports. They have my best interest in mind, budget in mind, and never upsale. They take the time to identify what i want out of the sport, my fitness level, my sizing- which big box stores have failed to do for me in the past. I did however have one specific issue with my bike, Joe called specialized on my behalf and figured it out in half a day! They stand by their products and provide great personalized support. If you're looking for a local shop with great vibes, knowledgeable staff, and good deals on high quality gear- look no further. read more

It's sad to say they have lost 2 long time customers over a small return. I know it will not make a difference in the long run. I purchased a pair of ASTRAL shoes less than a week ago. I wore them a couple times around home. They have a stench & are not the quality expected. Unfortunately as I wore them I'm not able to return or exchange. I understand in a sense but I also know had they been purchased just about anywhere else I would not be out $135+. Customer service is a thing of the past at this business unfortunately & shopping at this local small business is no longer an option for us. Scott & Margie read more

While cycling nearby on the Sacramento River Trail, my bike broke. I lost my rear derailer. Redding Sports LTD was the only bike shop open on a Sunday. They serve a Specialized bike and mine was a Trek, they did take a minute to look to see if they had the part. They were not able to repair my bike. A shout out to Jackson and Rio, who took their time and patience to look through everything to help me. In the end they couldn't but it was a great Bike Shop. No charge n you could tell all they wanted to do was help a fellow cyclist. read more

My wife has a Specialized Expedition 24-speed bike that she purchased from Sports LTD in 2005. It was in need of both derailer cables and a shorter seat stem. I explained what the bike needed to Tech Andy one day and he said to bring it to him the following day. We took it in and within a couple of hours he installed new cables, replaced the seat stem, lubricated everything and and gave it a once over finding no issues to repair. I would not hesitate taking our business to Sports LTD in the future. Andy did an excellent job, the repair bill was lower than expected and finished earlier than expected. Many thank to Redding Sports LTD. read more

Fast, friendly and really a super nice group of people. Highly recommend.

Came at 2:30 to rent a snowboard. They said I couldn't until 3 and there would be a huge line at 3. Nobody anywhere in the store still wouldn't rent to me. They were totally rude. Said I could rent 2 days or wait in line. Again no one anywhere. Said I couldn't even start the process. Charged me for 2 days for 30 minutes. Then didn't tell me helmets were extra. Never again. Hermits Hut it is from here on out. read more

Redding Sports - Outdoor Gear Near Me - Redding, California

This place is a saving grace! I'm a travel ICU nurse and Redding was home for 13 weeks. LTD was my go-to store. Whatever I needed, they had it! Everyone was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I have to give a special thanks to Vinnie for being my tour guide while I was in the area. He was always happy to give me recommendations on hikes and backpacking trips! This place is a one stop shop from rentals, all things gear related, clothes, to freeze dried food. I'm grateful to have found this spot! read more

Came here with the hope of getting mom some townie gloves for an upcoming Euro ski trip and walked out with a bit more thanks to the great service and selection! The fellow who helped me was knowledgeable, patient and excited about the wares. I felt zero sales pressure. I was remiss in not getting his name! He and others went into their inventory to try and find a lens color I slightly favored over the one I ended up buying - the effort much appreciated! They have a very well curated selection of brands; no cheap crap here. This establishment is quite a hidden gem. read more

This is my favorite shop in town. The bike shop has always been helpful and the staff always had a good attitude. Small repairs are often done on the spot getting you back out on your bike in short order. The rest of the store pretty much has all the outdoor gear you need to tackle nearly any outdoor activity. read more

9:13 pm on Friday night, and we just left Redding Sports. They were able to get skis and a snowboard for my family. Everyone was super nice and helpful, even though they were two plus hours past closing (hope you guys got pizza ). Thanks so much! read more

Good sale!! On woman's shoes Caden helped me !!! He was patient and kind !!! As I tried on 10 pairs !! Good service

Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff. They carry some very good brands like Patagonia.

I love this store they have a little of everything you could want for enjoying the great outdoors. The staff is super friendly and are always available when you need them. On the plus side all the staff was wearing masks which is nice because it is a small thing that people can do to help keep us off the watch list. read more

They had what we needed and at a dang good price. We needed keys for our Yakima roof rack. Super helpful and friendly. 10/10 will shop again. read more

During COVID, I visited Sports LTD. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by the team working Halloween night. The women were all very friendly & while some were wearing costimes, all were wearing masks. The store was very clean & I was excited to look for sunglasses. Sage helped me find the perfect pair of Spy Flynn 5050 shades in blue. They look awesome & she really took the extra time I needed to walk me outside so I could compare 2 lenses. I chose mirrored black & blue. Inside, the black felt best on my eyes but lucky for me, Sage suggested we walk outside & let me wear them under the sun. The difference was very apparent & I opted for the blue. She had a great attitude & was a really fun breath of fresh air. The retail industry often leaves me with a bitter taste due to the lack of customer service. As a result, I largely shop online. Because of Sage & the other employees, I'll definitely be back in to shop in person. Thank you Sage for ALL your help & for your super awesome personality & sense of humor. BIG thanks for putting up with me! ;) Thank you Sports LTD for hiring a top notch sales team. My experience was very memorable & I'll be sure to be back. read more

Is Redding Sports LTD kind of pricy? Oh yeah, but aren't all outdoor sporting goods stores? Are they unique? Everything I'll say below, I could probably say about REI -- but the nearest REI is in Sactown. So here's the thing. If I had to be content playing only with toys purchased from Redding Sports LTD for the next year, I'd be happy. If I had to dress from head to toe for a year with clothing purchased exclusively from this store, I'd be happy. I could march into this place and drop $10k on new stuff I'd love to own -- backpacking gear, mountain bikes, kayaks, cargo rack, skis, sunglasses, clothes, shoes, hiking boots -- and then do it again the next day. Every Christmas, we drop a boatload of money here just on socks. Hundreds of dollars JUST ON SOCKS. Why? Because they carry Smartwool socks, which are the best socks on the planet. Everyone loves 'em. l have two unmatched Smartwool Ph.D. socks in my sock drawer, and it breaks my heart to look at them. Go upstairs for the off-season bargains. read more

F---orget these guys! I "bought" some VFFs from Redding via their website, received confirmation, had my credit card charged and felt I could finally close my search for the seemingly non-existent shoes. Going so far as to call the store beforehand and watch as their online inventory decremented while I placed an item into the cart. About an hour later, I get an email saying hey, too bad, we're sold out. After a little back and forth, they admit that although an item may be shown as available on their website, that is not any reflection of reality. I can't speak for their physical store but avoid any online shopping with these folks. tl;dr - sold me something they didn't have read more

I can't comment on their physical store, but as other reviewers have stated BUYER BEWARE of their online store. I placed an order for a hoodie on October 31st. They hand wrote the label, and messed up the zipcode. My package got lost in Post Office hell for 2 months, and they didn't even bother keeping me posted on the progress even though they happily charged my credit card. There's one lady who takes care of online sales and she doesn't respond to e-mails or stay on top of outstanding issues. I finally found the same hoodie in stock somewhere else, and 2 days after placing my order with free shipping have my package hassle free. Avoid avoid avoid reddingsportsltd.com! read more

After a not so good experience here, I Yelped about it (see above) and I received a response from the manager - she left her phone number. I was quick to call and eager to hear what she had to say. She got the date and time when my not so good experience happened and assured me she would look into the situation because she could tell who was there and see a video. She said she would follow up and I mentioned we were going on a cruise, she asked the date of the cruise and said she would call when we returned. She followed up yet again. She explained the problems that day and that it was a comedy of errors, which I could see was indeed unusual. She said her staff felt bad and sorry for our experience and used the feedback to improve customer service. What a positive experience this actually turned out to be. Yelp helped the store, their staff and ultimately their customers. Thank you to all that work for Sports Ltd and their excellent manager for turning this into a positive for all. read more

I giving this bad review because of the horrible customer service I received from management. I planned to buy some snowboard bindings that were on their website but they did not have in store. The website is incorrect and not updated. So I decided to buy some different bindings.. I put them on layaway and not ten minutes after leaving the store I get a call telling me the bindings would not work on my snowboard and to come back and pick another pair. So I returned and instead of picking out another pair.. I just got my $$ back and bailed. Management was very unfriendly and not knowledgeable about the products they sell and did nothing to make it right with me. Customer Service score = 0 Get it together Sports Ltd. Going to BoardMart next time! read more

Sports LTD offers everything you could want from a family owned shop. If they don't have you covered make the trip to an REI. They have a full bike shop and a board and ski shop w/ rentals. Get your snowboard waxed and have your bike tuned while you try on a new back packing pack, they have a deep inventory to give you plenty of options. They know what they're talking about and are well educated on their products. Friendly faces and are great at taking the time to talk with you. read more

I have been using this place to service my bikes for quite some time, as well as any sporting good needs. Nearly every time I am in the shop, specifically the bike section, I encounter curt, unfriendly, and generally unpleasant staff! This will be THE last time, once again rude staff, after having the pedals changed out on my MASI, The staff were unable to locate the original pedals to return to me..... I'll be going to Chain Gang from here on out. read more

I had a derailleur issue on my road bike, even though they were busy joe got me in immediately and fixed my issue right away, he even brought up a few issues I didn't realize were wrong on my bike. And fixed! he had a wealth of information he shared with me. Could not ask for better customer service, this will be my full time bike shop! read more

Great store. I needed some rain gear for a trip and had looked at all the stores in town and found nothing. I ended up here they had exactly what I was looking for great customer service quality products and a very large selection. I'll stop wasting time shopping anywhere else and just start here. read more

My wife and I find ourselves shopping here more often. Products are top grade so if you are looking for cheap bargains look for the close out sales or go to the box stores. I find apples to apples Sports Ltd can be competitive. This place has everything for the outdoors person and you can spend a couple hours just looking at stuff. Go into this store looking at skis and you might find yourself with skis and a new backpack. They have a large breath of product and deep inventory. Staff if very knowledgeable and friendly. See bad ratings for Internet so I hoped they fixed this problem. Look-we need these kind of stores in town. They are in a market that is not served by the big chains. If they leave we have to travel or hope we bought the right boots online. Support this business. It is a win-win for Redding and all that use the great outdoors. read more

This company has actually hired a security guard to stand in the parking lot and have people towed if they park near this store and go to another store in the shopping complex. My boyfriend and I were told if we shop at Redding Sports and then go get coffee after at Madayne's next door, they would have us towed. The management needs to realize the negative impression they're giving when they're threatening to tow people as soon as they park. read more

I have never made a big dollar purchase at sports Ltd but it hasn't mattered. Those guys in the bike service area are awesome. I should've got the guys name who helped me. Guy with a beard. Been a regular customer Andrew staff... they're all great, love the guys in the bike dept! There are lots of bike shops in redding but this is one of the best. read more

This is an okay store and I have been here a few times. They kind of cater to the crowd of people who drive from Redding to ski at Shasta. Some of their items are overpriced but then again they have a swap (twice a year) and some sale days when there are excellent deals to be found. The main problem with this place is that they seem to exclusively hire younger people who just man the registers, which is all well and good but skiing, boarding and biking are sports where experience makes a big difference and if the worker doesn't have said experience then it is hard to trust that their product recommendations are good ones. Overall it isn't a bad place and if you have the money to not wait for the sale/swap days then you might as well come here, they have been in business for a very long time and more or less know what they are doing. read more

On a spontaneous trip away from Humboldt, my partner and I decided to try and get some snowboard rentals. Redding Sports was the first place I called. They had great rates and we headed right over. Gary helped us get fitted for boards and boots and we purchased some snow pants and gloves on great clearance prices. The rest of the staff we spoke with were also very helpful and efficient. We will definitely come back for future needs when in the area! read more

These guys are underrated. I think, because Sports Ltd. carries so much great stuff, their bike shop and their bike guys, sometimes get overlooked. I recently purchased a new road bike from them. The deciding factor was the great, no pressure, service I received. They did a great job of helping me decipher the overwhelming information and tailor it to what was pertinent to me. After test riding numerous bikes in redding and chico, I narrowed my search down to 4 bikes. What ultimately tipped my decision was the great service and knowledgeable information I received from Joe and the other guys at Sports Ltd. if you're looking for a bike, road or Mt., give these guys a shot. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!! I ordered some long underwear from them. First off, when I got the order, it smelled like smoke. Not a huge problem. BUT they also left the anti-steal tag (which stores have a special machine to remove) on the pants!!! Since I do not have such a machine, I had to remove it myself and damaged the product in the process! I can spend my money elsewhere on a product that will not smell bad and end up damaged! read more
