This place is horrible and obviously don't know there how's. My husband brought his bow in about a week in a half left of June, we go to check on it 2 weeks later and we were informed they had missed placed or they didn't have it. Another week goes by and we stop back in the finally have it and they ordered the wrong strings for it. They accused my husband of giving them the wrong model. Let's just say the make and model is literally on the side of the bow. Made us pay $150 even though we had to miss opening day due to their own ignorance of losing the bow on the first hand. Their excuse was, " we get a lot of bows during this time". Well don't take more than you can handle read more

This store is AWeSOME! I am a beginner archer, I brought in a used bow that needed some work. They helped me get everything I needed and said it would take a week. I was ok with the timeline as I was working anyway and not in a rush. I had plenty of newbie questions and never felt better about how I was answered and treated. BETTER than that, when I did pick up my bow and made it home, the bow was shooting better than I ever expected. Without adjustment to the top pin of my new site and darn near new bow, I was putting arrows in the bullseye. This place sucks. Went in trying to buy a new bow this morning. Not one of the three employees offered to help me get a bow to hold, let alone shoot or discuss my options. I stood there waiting for 20 minutes looking at bows and wasn't offered to even hold a bow. Too cool crew just sat around talking. Waste of time. Not going to beg you to buy a $1500 bow guess I'll go elsewhere. Good luck with your business model. read more

I've been to quite a few bow shops in the past few months looking to shoot as many bows as I can to get reacquainted with the sport after 20 years of not shooting. Many stores, specialty or warehouse, lack the patients for "simple" or "novice" questions about bows, technology, etc. I come to these store because I don't know what I don't know. I lean on them as experts to help me gather the knowledge I need to make the best decision I can for me. While on business in the Redding area, I stopped in to see what knowledge I could gain. I was greeted by Anthony. Warm invite and a smile he asked what I was looking for. I explained I was coming back to the sport after many years and what to fling some arrows. He spent a good 10 minutes asking questions about what I was looking to do with the bow, price range, general discovery questions that any good sales person should ask. He grabs a few bows in my price range and a few outside so I could feel the differences. He made proper adjustments to fit me and we went to the other side of the store to shoot. I could not have been happier with the level of expertise and customer service I received from this shop and I will be going back in four weeks (when I'm here on business again, to make my purchase. Redding Gem. I went in knowing nothing about archery and was helped by an employee who talked me through what I was looking for and let me try out several bows while he gave me tips and pointers. I bought one and took a couple lessons, but we realized that I would need a different bow due to eye-dominance. They swapped bows free of charge and set me up with a local teacher who gave recurve lessons. Over a year later, this has become one of my favorite pastimes and I am so thankful for how helpful every employee here is. As a woman, it can be intimidating to walk into a store like this - especially with zero knowledge. I've since relocated, but I'll be making a stop here every time I'm back in town. I have recently got back into archery; but, with the new technology I was looking for someone with expertise to guide my steps. Anthony, Mike and Ron have been really helpful. When I first walked in to the shop they gave me time to walk around and then came over and asked if I needed any help. After finding the right bow it was set up and I was able to use the range. If you buy a bow you get 3 hours of range use, a coupon to the outdoor archery range in Redding and the expertise of people who are hooked into the archery scene. Today i went in to the Bow Rack to get my new bow set up. When I first walked in there was a gentleman setting up a bow. He paid no attention to me for the first few minutes. He finally asked me what I needed. I was after all standing there with my new bow in its case. I said that I was there to get my new bow setup. He replied, "well were busy who knows when we can get to you." Funny thing is I was the only person in there. After several more minutes another guys came out from the office and asked what I needed. I told him the same thing that I had already told the previous gentleman. I said I had a rest and peep sight that needed to be mounted since I did t have a bow press. I also asked about tradinging my brand new rest in for a rest specifically made for my new bow. He took the bew rest out of my hand without asking me a thing and walked away back to the office. After several minutes he return to tell me that they didnt want to carry the rest that I had and there wasn't anything he could do for me. I said, wow this is how you treat customers? I said I wasn't asking to trade my rest straight across or anything. He then said, "your gonna get pissed off because I dont want to trade your rest" I told him, "no, because this is how you treat customers telling them there is nothing you can do for them." I would have been happy to buy the rest specifically made for my bow and have the other items placed on my bow to have setup but he said there was nothing he could do for me. Guess I will be going back to Deer Creek Archery in Chico where Mark actually treats you like a person and not dollar signs. read more
