Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I went on a Saturday and since it was my first time I had about 100 questions before we started shooting. Anthony or Andrew...his name started with an A. He was super patient in showing and helping us pick out guns. I inquired about lessons and what paper work would be needed to purchase my first firearm so he let us know and also gave us two sheets of information. I shot with a Glock 17. Total for 2 people and 100 bullets was around $80. It's a $25 fee to rent a lane and we shared. I liked that he was honest and informative about when and where to purchase a gun and after I finished shooting he mentioned that I probably wouldn't need lessons --my accuracy wasn't bad for my first time! Planning on going today! Only complaint would be that it was hot and stuffy inside while shooting but still worth the 5 starts because of the customer service. read more

Good atmosphere, clean, organized and air conditioned lol. When going to an outdoor range is either too hot, too far, or too dangerous for fire season, Nice Shot is a great alternative. They have guns to rent before purchasing. Or just rent a few for any reason you want. I took my nephew here to shoot his very first time and we had a great time. My only suggestion would be the equipment. The targets seem very outdated compared to every other indoor range I've seen. They work and I think that's great. But let's have some $10-hour options or half of Tuesday-Thursday before 5. I think small simple promotions could help them boost their brand and consequently make more money. I am very grateful for Nice Shot, I taught my nephew how to shoot. His first time. I had the absolute WORST experience. I went into nice shot months prior to buy bullets for my grandpa and didn't know much about Firearms or that I needed a license. A very nice blonde woman gave me some info and told me to study and come back and she would help me pick out a gun/ take the test since I didn't know anything about guns. Fast forward to today 7/27/20 I go in and this very tall man (Andrew) is working.I ask him if I can take the firearms test to purchase a gun. He was very rude from the start and laughed and said "if your not purchasing a gun then why would I have you take the test? We would have 30+ people in here just taking a test if we allowed that" I explained my encounter with the blonde woman and how I don't know much about guns but wanted to obviously take the test to buy a firearm. He was so unprofessional and said " we only let you take the test if your purchasing a gun...there's no point...so what gun do you want." I told him I was not impressed with his demeanor toward me. I said I don't know much about guns at all and the reason I came here was to be educated and that's he's loosing a sale on a gun by being so rude and unprofessional and he basically just didn't care. So I left. For a business that supports Americans right to bear arms I find it completely idiotic that an employee of a gun shop would not want to help educate me on the process of gun ownership. To top it off I called my fiancé to explain what happened...he called nice shot 3x and no one picked up the phone. Nice Shot has the best certified instructors in the North state. Andrew has been our instructor now for an initial CCW and three renewals. He gives lots of info during his classes but he makes it even more enjoyable with his stories and tactical situation. Nice Shot is always friendly when we go to their range. I have rented guns from them and taken grand kids to friends to shoot. All had a great experience. Just know they are there to help you anyway they can. They also have great guns and accessories. Love this range and staff. My boyfriend wanted to try out some pistols to see what felt right and get proper instruction on how to shoot being new to shooting. They were easy to setup a class with, extremely informative and had a large variety of guns available for him to try. I took my ccw course with them and it was the best ccw course I've taken in this county. Others have actually been scary with people who should not have been holding a loaded weapon but with nice shot I felt safe and I learned a lot during the course. Additionally, I've taken a private lesson with Laurie and she was amazing. She made me so comfortable, showed me some new grips and had me feeling highly confident. Never again Nice Shot! We will not spend another penny in that place. The staff is rude and mean. If you ask about CCW which we did the female trainer makes you feel stupid. Went in here last week for the first time in Redding (Recently moved to the area) and thought the staff was nice and friendly. Prices are decent for ammo and accessories there. Although I would say if you were looking for a gun I would try other stores first like Sportsman Warehouse or bastiani. Nice Shots prices on some firearms are higher than other stores. They do have a lot of handguns to rent which is very helpful when wanting to see how a certain gun shots before you buy one. It's also a bummer you have to buy their targets. Updating my review to 3 stars. I went in recently to buy/look at some of the guns they had in stock. When I went up to the counter I was asked if I needed any help which was nice, but when I was starting to look at the guns I realized how overly priced they were. It's a bummer. If there was a rating of negative stars it would be negative 5. Customers service has been absolutely miserable. But that is not the worst of it. My 14 year old son, who has done all of his gun safety at NiceShot was in the range and not even shooting and the people in the next lane were shooting and a 9mm slug ricochet and impacted him in the chin. After the blood stopped flowing, all over the floor and my son and after the emergency room visit and over 20 internal and external stitches and multiple x rays to make sure there was no shrapnel or broken jaw. My son now has a permanent scar across his entire chin. What did we get from NiceShot? After asking several times to the noncaring staff? We got 2 paper towels to help stop the flow of blood. Other than that we have not even got the time of day from the staff or owners to see how our 14 year old son was doing. Nothing!!. Thank God it hit his chin and not the soft tissue of his neck or his mouth or eyes. My worry to all that read this is if it happened to my son it is going to happen again to somebody elses family member and the results could be much worse. read more

2 parts to this review: Part 1: It was my first time at an indoor range, testing guns that I would like to buy. The man working was very excited to help me find the right gun for me. He was knowledgable and helpful. However, the staff wasn't very helpful telling us where to go - I almost walked out the front door with the gun! They just sat there and stared at us. Also didn't tell us any information about putting on the glasses and ear muffs BEFORE going into the range. They just assumed I knew that although we had never been there? But the range was nice, about 12 stalls. I had a lot of fun shooting in the range. I was surprised at how expensive it was though. Nearly $100 for 2 boxes of shells, 1 handgun rental and 2 stalls and targets. This may be standard but I was definitely surprised. Part 2: I called on a weekend to see if they had the gun I wanted to buy in stock. The man told me "Nobody in the nation sells that gun" I asked why and how that is even possible? "Check back in a few weeks and they might be making them again". So I called Olde West - a gun and loan store - Guess what?! They had the gun in stock! And so do many online gun dealers!! They are definitely still making and selling the gun! So Olde West got my money! This man needs to know what he is talking about before he gives out information. read more

Good ammo prices. Had multiple jammed guns, swapped them out. One had a barrel thay was so dry that the shell would stick. Shot 3 boxes of ammo and went to pay, $144. The guy at the counter says gun rentals are per gun period. Then had the nerve to compare themselves to Down Range Chico stating they do the same. They do not. Professional note, do not disparage another business to make yourself look better. read more

I give them 4 stars because they run a very good indoor range. They seem more like a Cop shop with their selection of inventory, they have no used guns. So if want "tactical" this or that give them a try. It is nice to be able to rent a gun and try it before buying it. Their prices are a little high, that and the lack of selection drops them down as a gun store. I think they are the only gun store in town that I have not bought a gun from. But that is due to their inventory not interesting to me. I have bought ammo and used the range all of which has been good. read more

Usually we can come in and have no problems, the men are very knowledgeable and nice. This time nothing but problems. We brought our 2 boys in with us so we could get our new sights adjusted on my gun. And we're told we would be charged for 2 lanes regardless, which that was fine, but the girl at the counter was rude and never smiled once the whole time at the counter. Then multiple times when shooting, we had malfunctions with their mechanical target lines on both lanes. Carly (the girl at the counter) had to come in twice to reset one lane because the motor would turn off and the light would go out. Then halfway through the motor on the other lane stopped working so we couldn't even retrieve our target. She rudely told us we'd have to use only one lane. On our way out we stopped to pay and again her rudeness came through when we asked to have some of the cost reduced for all the problems we encountered. Her attitude really makes me not want to bother with being a customer there again. read more
