This place is pretty nice. It was a little dry but hey it is Redding and the temps have been hovering around 95+/-! Nice staff.

The course is fun but one guy working behind the counter is an ass. Place was super busy when my…read moregroup got there. Had a line of 3-4 people waiting to pay in front of us then my group of 5 to pay, when another group of 4 came in and the guy behind the counter decided to stop helping the people in line and help out the group that came in behind everyone. Once we finally got help from the guy behind the counter he would not let our group of 5 play together and split us into a 3 group and made 2 of us wait when our group of 5 could play faster than the group of 4 slow players in front of us. After we got done with hole 2 we shifted and played as a group of 5. My group seen and talked to the warden 3 different times why we played our game, he watched all 5 of us tee off and never said a thing. The warden on the course is chill but the guy working behind the counter has a power trip problem. After having that experience it make it harder to want to go back after that experience when there are so many other good courses to play around here that are not going to bitch about a group of 5 playing together. I played a group of 6 yesterday at Allen's Golf Course and they had no issues.

If you play early in the morning expect to not get as much distance as you would normally get. They have to water a lot in the morning because of the valley heat. If you play later in the day your golf ball will get more roll but you will sweat more too. The staff are friendly and they are doing a great job maintaining the course. I feel Grape Ranch Golf Club is a worthy test of your golfing skills! Give it a try!

I was in Redding and had to kill most of the day so I thought I'd go play some golf. I found the…read moreGolf Club at Tierra Oaks was near so I called and made a tee time. I hit the driving range first since I was early. The range is well equipped with nice mats and I nice putting area. It's always hard to play a new to me golf course since you don't know where your hitting to and where the right angles are. The course was in decent shape I thought and somewhat fun to play. There are several fairways with streams or dry areas so you need to stay short or if you're a long hitter go over them. I kept my driver in the bag all day since I'd rather stay somewhat close to the fairway. Most of the greens were in good shape with one (17) freshly plugged and sanded. The pro did mention that when I was checking in so no harm no foul. Pass of play was good, being a single everyone let me play through so that was nice. Over all it's a nice place to play if you are in the Redding area. I'll be back another day! One last thing to keep in mind, there is no turn so once you finish the 9th you go on to the 10th. You better bring a lunch or wait till the beverage cart comes around. I think it came around like 3-4 times if I remember correctly. I was packing a sandwich so I didn't mind, but I am used to getting a hotdog at the turn.

We have been going there every week for over a year and we love it. Food prices are too low for the quality. Great local joint open to the public.

The driving range is a huge plus for me, I like to warm-up, and I like to come out at times and just practice. I can tell the maintenance crew has been really busy keeping the course in good shape this past year. The course has recently purchased about 8 or 10 more carts. It was easy to find one available, although it always helps to call ahead, they will reserve one for you if you let them know you are coming, up to about one week in advance. The staff here is very helpful and friendly. The drinks (coca cola/Pepsi fan) are ice cold, which is the only way I can drink them. My experience here has been great over the last two years. I now play here twice, and sometimes three days a week. Or come practice on the driving range if I am short on time for a full nine. It is a great place for family play if you have young children who like to come out with dad and/or mom. I believe the children play for free when accompanied by a playing adult.
