Bottom of the repaired shoe is buldging and glue still all over the place (this is after I asked if he could clean up the glue everywhere)
    Sara B.

I brought my Birkenstocks in to repair the right shoe because my puppy had chewed the strap. I saw on the Birkenstock website that Shasta Boot Company is an authorized Birkenstock repair shop, so I thought they must do a good job (wrong). The guy that helped me was rude; first, he lectured me about how I shouldn't have let my puppy chew my shoe, then he refused to take the left shoe to use as a side guide or reference for cutting the strap (he said he was an expert at his craft and didn't need it). He said it'd be ready in about a week. A week and a half goes by and I hadn't heard anything, so I called and they said my shoe was ready. When I went in to pick it up, first of all the shoe was a mess- it had glue smudged all over the side, and the bottom of the shoe was bulged out. The same guy helped me- he was bragging about what a good job he did and how he had to purchase a new hide of white leather so it'd match. I tried on the shoe ad the strap was so small, I couldn't get my foot in (and clearly smaller than my still intact left shoe). He was mad that the strap was too small (but if he'd just taken the left shoe as reference, the strap probably wouldn't have been too small), but agreed to fix it. He still refused my other shoe to use as reference. Another week goes by, I go in and the strap is on, but uncut. The shoe is yet again, covered in glue and bulging on the bottom. He tells me to try it on and he'll cut it the right length. So he does, and FINALLY uses my other shoe as reference for where to put the buckle holes. He cut the strap straight across, so I asked if he could cut it diagonally to match the other side, the is upset him again. He was so frustrated that I still didn't like them and cut the strap so uneven. I was done at this point. Waste of money, I wish I'd just thrown them away and bought a new pair. Don't take your Birks here.

When you work on your feet all day, having a good fitting pair of boots on just makes life that much better. Good gear also.

Had some shoes re-heeled, pretty bad job. The old heel was partly showing. Would not use again.

However, the company policy is to sell shoes made overseas that have some sort of easy wear off coating on the sole of the shoe. After a few times the bottom of our sandal looked like the one in the photo. The store staff claimed that is normal in the industry and normal for many *not all* of their shoes. I have never seen this on a pair of shoes before. When we asked for a refund we were refused. It was only after applying repeated pressure that we were offered a refund. Take a look at the photo of the shoe and tell me if you think that is normal wear for wearing a sandal to church and to a restaurant (total of 3 times) on Mother's Day. Then after getting a refund, I shared the story with someone at a local beauty shop and the lady next to me said she had a similar story--only hers was worse. Since no one on here has complained about the policy of selling shoes with coatings on the sole that wear off...I thought I would warn people. Make sure that whatever you buy from them does not have a coating on it. The store has no warning signs. Two people I have spoken with either fell down because of this problem or almost fell (the coating snagging and making them start to fall. Also, they typically do not do returns like most stores. They only give store credit. That's another thing to beware of..(I will add photo if yelp lets me...right now i'm not finding that option available anymore. Not sure why)

I still can't believe the lack of common sense these people have. I thought I was being Punk'd by Ashton Kutcher. I've never had a more horrible return experience in my life. Be careful what you buy at Kohls.com. Employees have no idea how to process an on-line return. It will take a minimum of four employees, and A LOT OF TIME to get it resolved. The staff seem like they know what they're doing ... at least for Amazon returns. As for the rest of Kohl's ... I really don't have any shopping to do here. Every once in awhile I'll get something like a t-shirt on sale for like $5.00 or something. It's a very clean store. The parking is easy and I noticed they have a ton of handicap parking if that's what you need.
