After two weeks, I drove the twenty five miles down from Magalia to hopefully retrieve my shoes they were reconditioning. When I got there, I told the guy at the reception desk my name and I was there to pick up my shoes. I told him I left several messages and recieved no return calls. His reply was, "yeah we're super busy!" I got pissed. I have chronic severe pain and mental health issues and I too am "busy" trying to live life. What the hell kinda response is this? I hope since the selling of the business this isn't the Service Disabled Veterans are now going to be subject to? Sad, I have for 4 years had no complaints. Now two since Hangers took over! What a bummer!

I was recommended surgery from another podiatrist but went to Dr. Shumate for a second opinion and was very glad I did! Instead of surgery I changed my shoes. I have never had that pain again!! He saved me a lot of needless surgery and possible future problems from surgery. He told me to never wear any shoe or slipper that I can bend in half!! Losing 10 lbs helped also. My son had a fungus on his toe and Dr. Shumate treated it and he had no more issues in 4 years. Great doctor and nice too.

The low rating is due to my initial visit with Clinic Nanager Sanjay Gupta. I requested custom orthotics and even took my old ones in to view and compare. I paid cash for custom orthotics. I am a senior citizen who takes lots of lengthy walks. Sanjay took "scans" of my feet, then a few days later produced cheap factory inserts! I got blood blisters on my feet, which is a VERY bad thing for an elder. When I went back to have this corrected, I saw Mike. He took impressions of my feet, produced custom orthotics and has made adjustments as needed with both competence and good cheer. Mike gets all the high ratings I can give. But I consider the service I got from the clinic manager Sanjay Gupta to be dangerous.

You'll also notice that I have no friends and no other reviews so he can't figure it out. I don't want to be his target, but I do want to protect others from what I experienced. When I was injured, he tried to force me to come in 3-5 times a week !! for unnecessary adjustments. When I said I wanted a second opinion since that seemed to be excessive, he berated me for not listening to him "someone with actual education" instead of my "feelings." Worst experience I have ever had. After I cancelled all future appointments (because of what was described above), he and his staff called me to berate me over the phone. Crazy. I have now heard similar experiences from other people who used to go to him. He is all about the $$$$, especially if there is potential for insurance payout. Don't trust this guy. Yes, he might be able to get your joints to pop, but the rest is just slimy. He also changed the practice name a few years ago to get away from all the negative reviews from before. If that doesn't tell you enough about this guy, I don't know what would. I now go to another chiropractor in the area and he was shocked at what Pike suggested. **Edited to suggest that you look at the reviews that are hidden (go to the bottom of the page) and see what others have said. Unethical is the common word.
