I had called several times and left messages each time to please return my call so I could verify the shoes I was to pick up were ready. I never got a call back. After two weeks, I drove the twenty five miles down from Magalia to hopefully retrieve my shoes they were reconditioning. When I got there, I told the guy at the reception desk my name and I was there to pick up my shoes. I told him I left several messages and recieved no return calls. His reply was, "yeah we're super busy!" I got pissed. I have chronic severe pain and mental health issues and I too am "busy" trying to live life. What the hell kinda response is this? I hope since the selling of the business this isn't the Service Disabled Veterans are now going to be subject to? Sad, I have for 4 years had no complaints. Now two since Hangers took over! The reviews were great and I was excited to obtain diabetic shoes and inserts after being released from Enloe Wound Care for a Diabetic Ulcer on my foot. I was shocked to learn that they DO NOT accept Medicare and Supplemental Insurance. There was no mention of this on their website. Communication and information is so important - this info SHOULD be on their website for the public seeking service. This is the type of information that tells prospective customers what the business model is - making as much money as possible vs helping a broad base of patient age groups. This is absolutely the best orthopedic practice I have ever had the pleasure of being referred to. It has been such a joy working with Rex, who is also an above knee amputee. He is way more knowledgeable and intelligent in his expertise as he has significant life experience dealing with the same problems that his patients deal with. In my humble opinion, he should be educating other prosthetists in his field and holding seminars in order to educate the field as a whole and increase the quality of life of patients across the globe. Their office is also super cute and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. If you live within a reasonable distance of their office, you should absolutely pursue getting a referral here if you need help. read more

Rex and Jana were outstanding in their service and quality of care. First, they accepted my insurance--few brace providers within 150 miles of my rural NorCal home take United Healthcare. Second, they were responsive before the appt, prompt in the back-and-forth, and made me feel heard and seen during the appointments--not a bother, like most offices. Third, they went the extra mile to make sure I could receive and be fitted for the brace during a move to Alaska. They ended up having to ship the ACL brace and Rex guided me through fitting by Zoom. read more

When I walked into Cutting Edge, I had visited four other offices with an order for a custom orthopedic shoe that no one in town was able to fulfill. I had three painful diabetic ulcers in my right foot. I was leaving the next day for a long-scheduled trip to Oregon and Cutting Edge Orthopedics was my last hope, the last stop. Somehow, my timing was just right and Rex heard my situation as I described it to the office staff. Even though the computers were down that day and Rex no longer offers this type of shoe, he went as far as to cobble a custom shoe to get me by for the weekend and told me that we could worry about payment and insurance later. That shoe ended up getting me by for a few weeks as I waited for my OWL boot. Rex attended one of my doctor's visits to make sure I was healing well and that the boot was working as it should. I cannot recommend this amazing group of people enough. They know exactly what they are doing, and their kindness is off the charts! read more
