Just went here for the first time and everything was delicious. We got the samosa chaat, garlic naan, lotus crepe, chicken and beef shami kabaabs and mango lassi. The flavor profile of every dish was on point. We started with the samosa chaat which are fried flaky pastry balls of potato and peas topped with spiced onions and chickpeas. They were served with a sweet sauce as well as a spicier creamy sauce. Both were good. We loved the sweet sauce. The shamis were patties of the beef and chicken mixed with lentils and spices and cooked with an egg. The lotus crepe was filled with cookie butter and strawberries and topped with more cookie butter and a biscoff cookie We cannot wait to come back here. Truly authentic Pakistani breakfast. Tasted just like home and everything was delicious. We started off with their hot and delicious puri with the masala channa. Seasoned and spiced perfectly with the fluffy texture of the puri, so so so yummy. I would definitely recommend having the Aloo bujia because without it, the breakfast will not be complete. The Aloo, channa and the beef haleem were perfectly balanced and not too overpowering with their flavors. The Beef haleem hit the spot! With the hot fluffy, and a little crispy naan. The owner is very nice and helped me decide what I should get. Review: (4 out of 5 stars) Everything was pretty good, but the chicken shawarma hit different. It's light, delicious, and it reminded me of the shawarmas I've had in Michigan, which has a huge Arab population. The shawarma sandwich was cut into small pieces and wrapped perfectly which is easy to eat and I liked as it didn't cause the sauce to drip or chicken coming out of the wrap. I would definitely recommend to try their chicken shawarma and the fries. I think it was seasoned with salt, pepper, and some Arab spices too, but I honestly don't know and they were good. The chicken shish tawook comes with onions, tomatoes, and rice. Everything was moist and juicy. I've come here a few times in the past several months and the food is always amazing. I hadn't eaten Indian food in several decades and last year felt like trying it again for some reason. I went here and asked what they recommend, since I didn't really understand what anything on the menu was. The guy recommended the chicken karhai and said they could adjust the spice any way I wanted. I asked for mild and it was absolutely delicious. I also got some naan to eat the food with which was also great, and he gave me a free side of rice. I didn't want to change my order because I was worried I wouldn't like anything else but earlier today I tried the chicken tikka masala which I'd heard of before but never eaten and it was even better than the karhai, it will now become my new go-to dish here. $14 for a huge portion, can't go wrong. I usually get it to go but ate in once, the restaurant doesn't look fancy but it's clean and cozy. Surprisingly it always seems pretty empty, I would expect there would be more people coming in. I would say that the food seems to be of an authentic homemade style of cuisine NOT a restaurant style of cuisine. The actual restaurant is very modest to put it nicely. We catered food from here last night. Everything was delicious and fresh. The falafel was very flavorful and Was perfectly fried. The mixed grill platter was excellent . Chicken very flavorful and juicy. Lamb perfectly cooked and seasoned as was the kufta. It came with salad, delicious naan and really good hummus. Worst food ive had in years... this place is under new management and the food is terrible. I bought the Chicken Buryani. Was that chicken in there? If it was, there were 2 tiny pieces of chicken and they were on the bone. There was more bone than chicken. The one piece of chicken was nothing but gristle. Try the Tawa Keema. You'll start sweating as soon as you smell it. It's that spicy. Here's a tip- eat the salad after the chicken to help take the edge of the heat. Nan is fresh. Every once in a while I get a craving for South East Asian cuisine and am notorious for Traveling as far as Queens to get my fix! After a long tiring day of work, I called my wife to ask what was on the menu tonight, only to be disappointed to learn nothing at all! I suggested to go out to a nice local Indian restaurant as i had been fantasizing about chicken Tikka, Lamb kebabs, Biryani, Naan, and so on and so on. I asked my buddy google for assistance and it directed me to Red Chilli. My 1st impression walking into this establishment.... is it a restaurant or a supermarket? I took a deep breath and walked towards the gentleman behind the counter, expecting at least a smile or maybe a hello? Neither. We sat down and waited for a server only to find the gentleman behind the counter walk over, hand us a TAKE OUT MENU, and proceeded to take our order. I asked for refreshment options and was told to walk to a refrigerator and help myself to any pop of my liking. I usually judge a new Indian restaurant by there 4 main entrees to determine if it makes my list: Biryani, Mix Tikka Grill (usually consists of lamb, chicken, beef, fish), chicken Tikka Masala, and Naan Bread. Biryani: Good! Mix Grill: fish was tasty, Lamb kebabs were a day old and cold, some chicken kebabs were undercooked, Beef Kebabs had a weird smell which I didn't want to adventure with. Chicken Masala- the butter sauce had flavor however chicken undercooked. Naan: on point! It had the right consistency. Check please? The server/owner/cook brought over my bill... to add insult to injury they added the gratuity to the bill. I overheard the other table object to this and the server/owner told them that it was a new law? No sir, you're wrong!!! The percentage of gratuity is based on quality of services provided and shouldn't be forced onto the customers. It's a awful practice to do business as it deters repeat business! This food is overpriced for the quality- the meat curries are expensive but contain really low quantity and quality of meat- chicken is mostly bone. This business STOLE money from my brother. They took ADVANTAGE of a YOUNG child and overcharged him by $5. When we called them, they started screaming at us and they ended the call. They claimed to not know how much my brother gave them. Does that make sense? This is a HORRIBLE business and the customer service is rude and mean. They don't respect their customers in any way, shape, and/or form. Also, my brother paid with cash and there is a sign on the cash register that states that tax does not apply with cash payment, but they charged tax. Come back Time Out to Eat! First off it is half the size of the place now. Behind the wall where the dining room was were piles of boxes. So strange. Went for the buffet. Walked in and needed to wait to be seated because the woman was on the phone and the man was too busy looking at his cell phone to be bothered. Sat, had to ask for a drink. They pointed to the drink fridge and we had to get our own. Also had to ask for water and silverware. More than half the trays of food were empty and we had to wait for more to be cooked. HOWEVER, the portion of mashed potatoes was totally ridiculous. I think they used a total of one potato to make this quantity. Also, they totally forgot to include the salad. I found its listing on Yelp! On the website they claimed to serve authentic South Indian cuisine ....I was a little surprised with that....because they had also listed Indian, Pakistani and Halal ! This halal is a tell-tale sign that it cannot be an Indian Restaurant and it is difficult to believe that a Pakistani restaurant can serve authentic South Indian food ?!! I thought may be its a joint venture....sure enough, when we reached there, the two gentlemen at the counter looked little uncomfortable ! I saw that there was a big table set near the counter and it looked like that Red Chilli we're hosting a cute kid's 3rd birthday party! They conveniently forgot to mention this on their website!! I had driven there with my friends after driving 10 miles. They said that you can sit and have the meal there but they have a birthday party starting at 7:30 PM....so we have to be done by that time....I glanced at my watch as the gentleman was giving this information....lit was 7:30 PM at the dot !! I drew his attention....he didn't look baffled....just insisted that we should just order for take out....meanwhile the guest for the party had started coming in....they all looked at us with little unease.... We started looking at their takeout menu - The whole South Indian Cuisine section was crossed out by a dark sharpee ! There - he ended my suspense....when I enquired about it....the man just looked straight into my eyes and said "oh! that was from the previous "owner" !!....meaning it was left over from Red Chilli's previous incarnation ....in which it was owned by an Indian. We still ordered the food, instead of walking out - because I did not want the onlookers to think of their venue for their b'day party as some lame swindlers....It is definitely false advertising on their website that they serve South Indian cuisine....let alone authentic ! As soon as we ordered and paid for it....the man instructed (not requested) us to go and sit near the entrance/waiting area....my friends were still fetching their drinks from the cooler, mentioned by the previous reviewer.... Food ? Just OK....nothing special, not even average.... We ordered two biryanis - none of them came with yogurt ! I have always eaten biryani - Indian - Hyderabadi, Pakistani whatever, with a thick, liquid yogurt prep. Because there are various spices in its preparation....
