    Chicken Shawarma Sandwich

Chicken Shawarma Sandwich @halalRedchili Red Chilli 1228 Middle Country Rd, Selden, NY 11784 A lot of people have been sleeping on this Restaurant. It's under NEW management. The food is fantastic and the prices are great. Including the service. Don't listen to the older reviews since that was under the old management. I ordered chicken shawarma, and chicken shish tawook rice platter. It takes about 15 minutes to 20 minutes to make, so please be patient. I ordered for take out. There isn't much seating. The owner is very nice and helped me decide what I should get. Review: (4 out of 5 stars) Everything was pretty good, but the chicken shawarma hit different. It's light, delicious, and it reminded me of the shawarmas I've had in Michigan, which has a huge Arab population. The shawarma sandwich was cut into small pieces and wrapped perfectly which is easy to eat and I liked as it didn't cause the sauce to drip or chicken coming out of the wrap. I would definitely recommend to try their chicken shawarma and the fries. I think it was seasoned with salt, pepper, and some Arab spices too, but I honestly don't know and they were good. The chicken shish tawook comes with onions, tomatoes, and rice. Everything was moist and juicy. I had one chicken that was a bit too chewy, but I ate the others and they were good. - Chicken Shawarma sandwich served with French fries - Chicken Shish Tawook platter served with rice This is an updated place now with a new owner who genuinely wants to run a good and honest business. I believe all the middle eastern part of menu is up to mark. I haven't had much of the Indian part of their menu, except the naan and I'll say it's is ok. However, I'll definitely have to come back and give a full review of the desi food. Let them know Ali sent you, and ask for the Chicken Shawarma. Lastly, don't forget to say Bismillah and Alhamdulilah for everything Follow me on Instagram @Alithehalalfoodie

Lamb rice plate was great huge chunks of lamb and perfectly cooked rice. Going to try the mix grill or the masala next. Will be back!

The…read morerestaurant has a casual, welcoming vibe and is known for serving authentic Pakistani cuisine with bold, rich flavors. We started with appetizers like vegi samosas, spring rolls, pakora, and aloo tikki. Everything came out fresh, crispy, and full of flavor, making it a great way to kick off the meal. For the mains, we tried a mix of dishes including lahori channa, beef haleem, beef nihari, butter chicken, chicken pulao, and vegetable noodles. Each dish had its own depth of flavor, from the rich and comforting slow cooked curries to the perfectly spiced rice and noodles. The nihari and haleem especially stood out for how hearty and traditional they tasted. These types of dishes are known for their deep, slow cooked flavors and are staples in Pakistani cuisine. We also had items from the mixed grill along with fresh naan and white rice which tied everything together perfectly. The portions were generous and great for sharing. To end the meal, we tried desserts and drinks like mango delight, fruit custard, and rooh afza which were refreshing and a perfect sweet finish. Service was friendly and the space is great for groups or family style dining. Overall, this is a solid spot if you're looking for authentic Pakistani food with a wide variety of options and comforting, flavorful dishes.

Water presented as free but was charged. Naan refills were charged as well. Oily food.read more

You're greeted at the door, and the waitstaff asks if there are any questions. My recent favorite is saag paneer because you can taste the ginger, and it has a nice texture that pairs well with naan or rice. I usually go with a group, and we each order an entree and share, so there is variety. My friends liked the shrimp tikka, and it wasn't too spicy. Looking forward to our next meal at Taj.

Both times I went there was a fully equipped bar downstairs but both times we were never given a drinks menu. I was looking forward to a cocktail since I saw some on their website, but I'm not going to order a fancy cocktail if I'm not given the drinks menu at the restaurant. We asked for a glass of wine and a beer instead, but that can also be risky (especially with wine) when you don't know what the price will be. I don't understand why the drinks menu isn't automatically handed out with the food menu. They had some beer taps, but as a beer person I can say the Hefeweizen was definitely off. Old, flat, darker in color than normal. The food was just ok, not bad, but nothing to ever come back for, especially at $20 for a couple of pieces of chicken and a side of rice. Service was also just ok. So quiet that it was hard for me to understand what was being said to me. No facial expressions, no words that would make us feel welcome and wanted there as guests. Third time might be the charm but I'll pass.
