While the restaurant isn't high-end when it comes to the look (it features faux-brick wallpaper, dated booths, basic ceiling tiles, plastic-laminated menus, & tiny dispenser paper napkins), the hospitality & food completely make up for it. Despite the casual setting, they include some lovely touches like heavy copper pitchers & glasses for water, sleek individual LED lights at each table, a few beautiful Indian-style hanging mosaic lamps from the ceiling, & fantastic background Bollywood music playing (for example, "Tere Naina" from My Name Is Khan). It's also always a great sign when you see local Indian folks eating here too. The staff is exceptionally pleasant & attentive, & it's fantastic that they offer dedicated, separate vegetarian & vegan menus alongside their traditional meat offerings. The food was fantastic across the board. The Dahi Puri was creamy, tangy, & crunchy, making for absolute perfect little bite-sized flavor bombs. The Paneer Tikka Tandoori was marinated beautifully with amazing depth of flavor, finished with a great char straight from the tandoor on the paneer, peppers, & onions, plus just the right touch of spice. Dipping it into the mint chutney swirled into yogurt sauce was delightful. The butter naan was to die for with its warm, amazingly buttery, perfectly baked texture. To top it off, the mango lassi was great & very tasty, even though it comes served in a plastic takeout cup. The food was so good that I ended up ordering more to go to share for lunch tomorrow! My only real complaint is wishing they weren't so far away. Coolest owner, delicious food! Stopped by for lunch during the week and had such a great experience. Luckily we had the place to ourselves because the owner was so helpful with deciding what to have. We got the pani pori, gobi Manchurian cauliflower, vegetable samosas, garlic naan, chicken curry and kadai chicken curry. The pani pori comes with veggies inside and a delicious tamabrind sauce. The cauliflower dish was my favorite! It's in a spicy/sweet sauce and fried. You could eat it plain or with a side. The samosas and naan were also delicious. Tried this new indian cuisine near me & it was great! The store was quaint & nice. The service was great as the owner came around to make sure everything was good with us. Her husband was the chef & the food was authentic, tasty & on point. I'm Indo-Caribbean from Trinidad & was lucky to be there for their yearly puja which was awesome! I was looking for vegan Indian food and I finally found a great local place with a separate vegan menu. Food was delicious and the owner was a pleasure to speak with. He offered many option as I reviewed the menu and was very helpful. I had Tofu Tikka marsala, vegetable korma, samosas and garlic roti. Spicy mint chutney was killer hot and had a good flavor. It is always nice to find a place like this on the island where your cravings for Indian and Indo-Chinese flavors can be satisfied. Very disappointed with this experience. After reading all these reviews I thought I was in for a treat. Sadly, nope. Ordered the chicken tikka masala and dal makhani. The heat was there but flavor was extremely lacking. The chicken tikka masala tastes just like spicy chicken in a tomato sauce. Seems they forgot to add the cream to make it a real tikka masala. The dal makhani looked just like gravel in a pool of brown water. Utterly missing all the beans and lentils and creaminess/thickness that a true dal makhani is supposed to have. I must also mention the service. Ordered online and it said 20min. Showed up in 20 minutes and had to wait another 20 for the food to be brought out. So 40min total wait for a disappointing dish. Additionally the prices are not cheap. This was sadly like a poor fast food Indian experience. Only it was anything but fast and sadly not very good at all. I have been a regular here for two years, and this is the first time I am writing a review. The chef/owner Raj is hospitable and is always there. All foods are prepared to order. For an appetizer, I had a couple of Samosas. They were hot, right out of the oven; and their flavor was enhanced after a quick dip of each cut-up piece into some tamarind sauce. I selected an entree from the Lunch menu. It's called Chicken Korma, and Raj says that it is made with "chicken, curry and a touch of cream". It was delicious. Then I devoured the Ras Malai, which the menu describes as a cottage cheese puffy in sweetened milk. It was a creamy , tongue-coating and comforting dessert. Everybody dresses down in this eatery, which is located in the same parking lot as Starbucks. If ever you are in Deer Park and have a craving for Indian comfort food, stop by Indie. The quality of ingredients and preparation are amazing, even something so seemingly minor as the rice was way above other places. I tend to lean towards curry dishes and they make them to order from mild to my preferred extra spicy. I travel about a half hour from Huntington Village but it's worth it. We went here for lunch. We went when they first opened. It's a small place but worth the stop. Although the tables look like they need to be wiped down it was clean and our server was great. We had the pakora the chicken was crunch and juicy the dipping sauces were great. We then shared Baigan Ka Bhurta (epplant) and chicken saagawala (chicken Tandoori and spinach curry) The eggplant was so good it had great flavor but the chicken was awesome it had the tandoori taste w lots of spinach sauce. The spinach curry puts creamed spinach to shame. We had bottled soda but the bottles were flat so we switched to cans and then it was all good. Lots to try on this I will be back again. I have been in search for a high quality Indian cusine restaurant for years! When I stumbled on to this gem of a place my dreams came true. I ordered spicy and I'm a "pepper head" this was my match as the heat index derives from many spices that come together and allow you to enjoy the curry flavors without loosing your taste buds from heat! I licked the dish clean! If you're not into spicy I suggest order spice at a lower level. The selections of different curries and types are explained on their website menu which allows you to choose what you feel like at that moment. I am so happy I found this place located behind Texas Roadhouse in Deer Park. Please try their Roti and Nam as they compliment and complete your meal. Cool off with one of their tropical lassies. Their selection of chutneys are homemade and when you taste them, you feel like you're transported in time to a happy place relived earlier in life! This place reminds me of my Indian Priest friends who would invite me to their rectory to share in their profound meals. This place takes a while since they are low in staff. They have lunch specials from $10-$12. They have several tables, and they are very clean, neat, and organized. I came around 1pm and it wasn't very busy at all. There was 1 person eating there and another person who came in for a Grubhub order. They have sodas, mango Lassi, available for purchase. They also have a bathroom for your convenience. They have 2 high chairs avalible for babies and small children. It was very quiet and it seemed like it wasn't very popular. I imagine it must get popular around dinner time. It's a shame they don't get many people at lunch time, perhaps they are more busy around noon. The lunch specials come with nann or rice. I ordered the butter chicken with nann, and the tofu tikki marsala with rice. The order was prepared right away and took about 20 mins. I heard them getting constant Doordash orders, so maybe theyre more popular through delivery. It was frustrating to order from them in advanced because when I called the line was busy as they only have 1 phone. However I'm glad they prepared the food quickly when I ordered in person. You can earn 5% back on future purchases with their points through their Clover method of payment. When we got home, it turned out they gave us rive instead of nann which was disappointing. But the rice with the sauces were good. The food was HOT and spicy! I recommend getting your food mild if you don't like spicy. The food overall was delicious. Now onto the food. We ordered a Baingan Bhuta which is eggplant chopped along with other vegetable mixed in. Dish was pretty good and has only wished it wasn't chopped too fine. We also ordered Goan fish curry which which had good flavoring. Both these dishes are temperature wise hot which was nice and cooked to our spice level perfection. They came with hearty generous rice portion. I also ordered a garlic nann and that was super delish and was soft to the very last bite. Food wise, definitely a 4.
