The menu has a little something for everyone--burgers (including a solid black bean option), wings, tacos, and more. My usual favorite has been the corn and green chile tacos--as someone from Alabama, they remind me of creamed corn in the best way. Comforting, flavorful, and always satisfying. But now that they've added the elote nachos to the menu? Game changer. Absolutely delicious and hearty enough to share (or not, I won't judge). Their drink menu is impressive too. If cocktails are your thing, they rotate regularly with seasonal options. I personally stick with the Castle Rock Cabernet Sauvignon, which is a great pour. Been coming here for around a year now and every time the food is absolutely delicious. One of the best spots in Tucson and an absolute must-try. Service is also top of its class especially Camryn. Waffles fries were great! I found the burger to be good, but not as fantastic as I had hoped. It was very messy and both the burger patties and the Redbird sauce didn't have much flavor at all. We also got the buffalo chicken sandwich and there was so much sauce that the sandwich was soggy and messy. The made from scratch ketchup was tart and had a terrible aftertaste. Overall I was very underwhelmed with the food especially having read so many reviews. The service was fast and friendly. Wow, what a gem! Checked this place out for lunch on a Saturday with my mom and we loved it. The atmosphere here is wonderful. Lovely murals on the walls; gallery walls featuring photos of cardinals, the business owners, and local floral and fauna; big garage style doors creating an indoor/outdoor feel; and a gorgeous bar with lovely red lights. Whoever designed the interior did a fantastic job. It's not a large space but it's extremely well appointed. The bar has three TVs so you can also catch a game very easily from almost every seat in the house. The menu features lots of burger options and my mom went with the classic; all burgers come with two smashed patties and wow it was huge! Perfectly cooked and seasoned too! We got a small side of the waffle fries and I got 3 tacos--the carne asada, the grilled shrimp, and the chiles Rojas. Delicious! All of the items the tables next to us ordered also looked sooo good! Service was good and perhaps my favorite part was the hot towels they bring you at the end of the meal. Their food is so good and juicy it's definitely needed and appreciated and such a nice unique touch! I can't wait to come back and try some is their other items! We are always looking for good places to eat near where Mom is living now. (we had to move her at the beginning of November) We decided to try Redbird Scratch Kitchen yesterday, and were Very Pleasantly surprised. Mom had the Cob Salad, and enjoyed it Very much! She's always been a big one for bacon, so the crispy bacon crumble, the fresh, cut little tomatoes, cubed cheese, sliced eggs, and the greens with dressing were a BIG hit for her. She seemed to like it more with each bite. (That's saying a lot for a Dementia patient!) Dad ordered the Sonoran Burger. When it came he was impressed with the size. He said it was Okay, but he was expecting a different taste with the green chilies. (which are a favorite for him) I had the Carne Asada tacos and enjoyed them. The three little tacos were very tasty. The atmosphere was nice. It was loud, but not terrible. The table arrangement allowed for ease of access for my Dad's BIG walker without too much fuss. The Wait staff were on top of their game. When Mom finished her soda, our waitress brought a new one right as Mom finished the last sip of her first one. She checked on us several times without being obnoxious, and was very Kind. The prices are a bit more than we have been used to, but that's not saying much. (everything is getting more expensive) I would call this a Win for us, and we will likely be returning. read more

I've been wanting to check out Redbird Scratch Kitchen, so my friend and I stopped by on a Monday night for dinner. We arrived during happy hour (Monday-Friday 3-6) and enjoyed the garlic confit pretzel appetizer. The soft pretzels came with a triple cheese sauce and Dijon honey mustard. It also had candied peppers and roasted Jalapeños on the side which was a unique touch. For my meal, I enjoyed the small Mac n cheese with grilled chicken. The small was a big enough portion for me to have leftovers to go! My friend really enjoyed the Taco salad with grilled chicken. It's fun that they give you warm towels to wipe your hands at the end, although neither of us had meals which we used our hands. What a fantastic experience! I've been in Tucson for a few days and have managed several spectacular meals. Redbird tonight was a 10 out of 10! From our welcome when we arrived to our waitress, to the food, everything was perfect. With so many choices on the menu we decided to do our own version of "tapas" by ordering several items off the menu starting with the Mac and cheese. I've never been a huge fan of this staple but the way this dish was prepared was wonderful just the right amount of cheese, coupled with the correct pasta to hold that creamy goodness. We followed that up with the Green chile bacon waffle fries, a perfect mixture of ingredients that made the fries "flavor carriers", not just fries! A side note on the fries, I've had thousands of fries in hundreds of joints. You can always tell when they are using fresh oil in the fryer. Judging by the light taste of these waffle fries, I'd bet on daily oil changes. A HUGE and welcome difference. Our entrees, Carne asada tacos (chile roja), Early bird burger and Harvest salad were all equally delicious. A perfect burger, mouthwatering tacos and a fresh salad made with high quality ingredients complemented each other perfectly. Lastly, my house margarita with tajin was light and refreshing. Not super sweet nor overpowering, I recommend it. The bottom line, make a reservation and eat here. You will not be disappointed. Red Bird Scratch Kitchen on 6th Street was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Our party of five was crammed into a tiny four-person table, which was just the beginning of the issues. I ordered a burger and had to send it back not once, not twice, but three times because it was completely wrong. By the third attempt, I'd lost my appetite and just gave up. To make matters worse, the manager never even bothered to come to our table to address the ongoing problems. The service was terrible, the food couldn't be made correctly, and even the drinks were watered down and flavorless. On top of everything, it was uncomfortably hot inside the restaurant. I live the newer trend of scratch restaurants using high quality ingredients and care to make delicious food. So, when RedBird popped up at lunch time I decided to give it a try. The restaurant is vibrant and aesthetically pleasing and the music the perfect volume for the background so diners aren't shouting over the music. It wasn't overly loud and I was able to enjoy my solo meal. I had 3 different protein tacos - birria with consommé, breaded shrimp and pollo asado - they were soooo good! The medium green chili salsa was flavorful and the hot chili was the perfect heat for some that wants a good kick without hating themselves later. I would totally recommend giving RedBird a try! No chicken added but charged 20$ for the salad with grilled chicken. Asked first if it was spring mix because we don't like that, the new bartender said no it's romaine and iceberg. When it arrived it was spring mix. Sent it back. Asked for ketchup initially for the burgers and it was not in the bag. Disappointing. There was also a lack of sauce. The pasta type is designed to "gather" the sauce so it was dry. Happen to be around the area and decided to give it a try so first off it's a very clean establishment. It's it has a little bar to the side which is really cute. It gives the vibes of family eating/bar sport watching mixed together, anyway we ended up ordering their classic wings, just regular buffalo style and an appetizer of queso fundido now the wings were great, crispy well sauced up. It doesn't come with any sides so if you want fries or anything, you have to order that separate now for the queso fundido it was really good. However, a lot of the cheese was stuck to the bottom of the little skillet. Maybe they didn't rub a little oil or something. I don't know, but a lot of it got stuck to the bottom of the skillet making the portion probably less than half we asked for the chorizo version you can either have chorizo or mushrooms, and it was really good. Just a little disappointed from you know the amount we received. But overall, it's a great place to go and grab a quick bite. I got the filthy bird and my husband got the old fashioned, both were delicious. He thought the spice was good, could have had a bit more. It just comes with the sandwich, the fries are extra. I had the blue mushroom burger. It was a double patty smash burger which was juicy but even with the blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese sauce I don't think the flavor came through as much as it should have. The restaurant is decorated nicely and has some bright pops of color. It's a decent size with about 3-4 high tops and bar seating, then has standard seating as well as patio seating. Thanks to Yelp recommending this spot, my partner & I decided to try it out. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and didn't have a reservation, but we were seated promptly. The place was a little snug, with my seat close to another guest who was behind me, so I just needed to be more careful when getting out of my chair. There was also AC which cooled us off from the heat, but I will make a mental note to bring a light sweater next time as it was a tad too cold sitting in my gym leggings & thin short sleeve shirt. We had a kind server who suggested for us to try the Elote Nachos and the Crispy Nashville- Arizona Chicken Sandwich for our first visit. While her advice was appreciated, we wanted to pick something else. We ordered the Queso Fundido with mushrooms for our starter (the mushrooms can be replaced with chorizo), and my partner ordered the shrimp tacos for himself. As for me, I was curious to try their Sonoran Burger and asked the waitress how spicy it was- given that I can't handle anything above mild. She claimed that it wasn't spicy at all, even with the green chiles, and I'm happy to say she was correct! Everything came out so well, but my burger was the standout. So easy to chew and well-cooked, I didn't take the chilis off either. It was a lunch I would love to try again. I had a bite of the shrimp tacos and they were okay, though not outstanding like how I found my dish.
