I have always bought my red wings at a specific location but moved so I came to this store. Put it this way, I'd rather have driven an hour and a half back to the other one just for the better customer service. The customer service here is a joke. Let's start with the boots. My original pair, purchased at the other location, was a 6.5 women's. I came to this location for a new pair and they talked me into a 6 wide since they didn't have a 6.5. I made the mistake of listening to them and purchasing them. I also realized that they didn't give me the union discount they offered so I called them to ask if i could get that refunded. The manager said I could get the refund OR he would give me a pair of wool socks instead and to just come in. I came and he all of a sudden changed his mind and said they weren't allowed to do refunds with that. Which I knew was a lie. But I took the socks and didn't make it a big deal. So I go back to the store over a month later to try to get a bigger size because like most people who purchase redwings, I'm in a construction trade and work a ton of overtime. I come in and Omar tells me "you're past the 30 day comfort policy, there's nothing we can do" and hands me back the boots. I asked "even if they're brand new?" He said "it doesn't matter. Worn or new" which I was not told at the time of purchase, nor is it stated on the receipt. I'm very disappointed because I worked as a retail manager for 12 years before I got into a trade and I know there's ALWAYS something they CAN do if they want to help you. I wasn't asking for a refund, just an exchange and our conversation lasted about 20 seconds without him trying to help me or give me any other options to keep my business. I SPENT almost $500 in total on that purchase for boots, socks, insole and a hat. Unfortunately after today, they won't see my business again. read more

Stinky stinky red wing store. The staff (especially the manager) act like they're selling cars here and they need to hit their quota. Vultures I call em. Calm down yall! They propped me up on some teleportation pedestal to sniff my feet with science, then tried to get me to buy recommended footbeds made of plastic that are thinner than most of the default footbeds in the shoes I looked at.... Strange...Tsk tsk half the shoes are also made over seas now? When I asked an employee about a hiker boot made overseas they told me to avoid them like high hell. At least they where honest! This store would've passed the mid test until I saw dead roaches under the displays!!! Yikes!!! Could you imagine the stockroom? Oof! The quality of the boots is great. Fair prices and great location. However, are the time of purchase they mentioned they had complimentary cleaning and replacement of show laces. Tell me why did it take two days to get new shoelaces and my boots in the same condition I dropped them off in? Looks like there was no cleaning at all just new laces. I've visited this store at least 4 times now in the past few months because of my boyfriend. Before him, I didn't even know what products they had or how their shoes looked like. But overall, the service here was always great. They seemed knowledgeable about their products, answered any questions we had, and were really friendly and helpful. My boyfriend first went there to buy their Iron Ranger Boots and I remember seeing one of the girl workers wear the Classic Moc, which I thought looked really good. It was funny because when we first looked online, we both thought that those shoes didn't look that great, but when I actually saw it in person, I changed my mind. After like two months go by, my bf decides to buy me one, which we had to order since they didn't have them in stock. Came back to pick them up, wore them and my bf said they looked so good that he wanted his own pair. Show up for the fourth time, but this time it's for him again. So far we like their products, but for the men's shoes, I think you'll have to break them in. My bf said it would hurt at times, but he said that's normal based on his research from other people. I'm just glad I don't have to go through the same thing. But all in all, the workers we've seen were always great. Except that their register/system has been down every time, so it'll take a bit longer checking out. read more

I've always been a red wing fan but lately they've been selling boots that have been garbage!! These waterproof boots sure ain't waterproof that's for sure. Then the service is more garbage than their product. I took a pair of boots that are supposedly waterproof in to get checked out since the water goes in and they said they couldn't do anything about it. I received them as a gift with the receipt last year but never wore them because I had other pairs but since it's been raining like crazy I decided to finally use them and let me tell you it was a total failure. Just know I am never buying another pair or red wings and wouldn't recommend them at all no more. Time to try another brand and wouldn't recommend any carpenter to pay so much money for something that's being false advertised. read more

Wow, I'm surprised for the bad reviews, this is my go to store for Redwings boots & all their accessories, I'm always attended to with a pleasant greeting and welcoming feeling of acknowledgment, I'm usually helped by Devin, he always knowledgeable about their Redwing boots and has ordered me what they don't have in stock, with no problem. I don't understand why anyone would have any bad reviews about this place at all, but then again these days people want you to lay out a red carpet for them! After a rocky start, Seth (the store manager) went above and beyond to help me get the boots I had ordered three months earlier. I went to the store the day after Thanksgiving and the clerk was very nice and helpful. With a 20 per cent discount sale, I really wanted to get a pair of boots and the store was kind enough to let me order something they didn't have, rather than stick to just what was in the store. Note: this store has very few women's boots (Culver City has a much better women's selection). There is no doubt that Covid has messed up everything with the stores and the Red Wing factory, and they still haven't recovered, but Seth found the boots I wanted at another store and made them available for me to pick up at the Rosemead store. Went in to buy my boyfriend some new work boots. He has had his from Red Wing for about 4 years and he loves them. Anyway, we come in and are the only ones in the store. The associate, Carmen, looked at us and didn't bother to ask if we needed assistance. My boyfriend had to go over to her and ask for assistance. He needed a slip resistant shoe as he works in a kitchen and there is water and oil on the floors a lot of times. She proceeds to show him shoes that are supposed to be slip. She's supposed to be the expert, so we get them. He ended up wearing them to work and almost slipped a few times. Looking further into the product online, she sold us ones that were not slip resistant. So not only was she not friendly from the jump, she also didn't listen to what we were looking for or know her products. I called to ask about their exchange policy the very next day and Carmen answered. She wasn't very friendly on the phone either. Ended up just getting a refund and going to Covina instead. TL:DR- Carmen is rude and doesn't know her products. Covina store much better. read more

Horrible service. My husband walked in and 2 of staff were talking to each other. They did not bother to ask if he needed help. When he finally got help the guy was rude and wouldn't even size his foot or help him try on a shoe. He saw my husband was having trouble bending over to try to get the shoe on. He kicked a stool over to him and when it kept sliding away he just put his foot on it to stop the slide. Should have been professional and sat down and help. This was my 3rd time to shop at Red Wings. And here's a disappointment story. A placed an order on Feb 9th. The lady told me to wait for a week. And I had to pick-up in person. Shipping to my place would charge extra. I called back a week after, a lady told me to wait for another week and they would call back when item received. I told the lady to change my phone number. Second week, I called and asked again for my order. A lady told me to wait for a month, which made me uncomfortable. And she emphasized that they would call me when product had received. I double confirmed my phone number had been changed, she confirmed. My husband comforted and explained, Red Wings products were all hand-made, so it could be late due to this pandemic period. The 5th week, I called and this gentlemen told me it had been delivered since first week after I placed order. They called and left voicemail which I didn't aware of. I contacted customer service, and told Cathy the whole story. She said nothing. I asked, how I could file a complain. Then she just started trying to take note. I asked, how the complain would work. She said she would call the store. But she didn't know where the store was. I doubt she was going to do so. I asked, which store were you going to call? She answer, "Good point!" And she asked where the locations was. After I told her the city, she said there were 2 stores in the city, which is not true. She was less familiar than customer did. There were only one store in that city. How unprofessional! Then she realized there were only one store in that city, she started explain herself which I didn't even care anymore. I didn't trust her ability, so I asked what was on her note, she told me the wrong information..... I was right. She wasn't reliable. I ended up correcting her note and hanged up with full of disappointment to Red Wings' customer services. Now I know the reason why this industry is going down. 1. Clerks were not doing their job. When they messed up, 2. Customer service wasn't able to wipe clerks butt. 3. Shipping charges. And clerks were trying to stop me calling by emphasizing "they would call me when order delivered." I picked up order on Mar 19th, and this gentleman was very professional and had wonderful customer service. Thus, I added one more start for him. My husband needed this order for his work replacement since his current one had broke badly. Unfortunately, we had to wait extra month and more, which made him wear a broken one this entire month. Sad and poor him. We didn't get a random replacement because we loved Red Wings so much and trusted this brand and quality a lot. However, this is totally out of our expectation. Came to this store on the weekend with my husband trying to find him the pair of boots that he always gets, unfortunately the style he gets was discontinued but the young man that worked there named Devin went out of his way to find the boots for us, he was able to find them at another store that was out of state which wasn't a problem because my husband loves those boots so he ordered us the pair and also recommended insoles for my husband because he has been having pain in his heels. @RedWingShoes Just had the worst customer service experience in your Rosemead, CA store. Having been a customer for the last 30 years, sadly I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER PAIR OF REDWINGS AGAIN. Had to practically beg someone to try on a shoe even though there were two employees there. The so called salesman with Tommy tattooed on the back of his arm was to lazy to take the time to measure for the correct size. Once he finally brought out the wrong size he didnt even attempt to help put the shoe on and just kicked the shoe stool to me and stood there with his arms crossed watching me struggle. Of course it slid away as soon as I put my foot on it and with neuropathy in my feet I sure could have used a little assistance - even a shoe horn would have been helpful. I dont feel I should be treated as though I am bothering a business I am trying to patronize so I decided to not even continue to struggle to get the wrong shoe size on so I left and will NEVER BE BACK! Just thought you should know how your longtime FORMER customers are being treated and your stores being run. I have been a big fan of your shoes for a long time but refuse to be treated in this manner. read more
