Unfortunately, I didn't have my shoes with me. So they suggested I come back with them. During this process they gave me socks to use and would not let me pay for them. So he said okay cool and he checked out and then he said "it will be delivered Friday" so he was confused because he thought he could just go pick it up himself so basically he had to wait for the Anaheim store to deliver it to the orange store and then come back to pick it up at Orange. So he calls Sunday to ask if it's there since he didn't receive a call yet and someone extremely rude answered and said "I'm too busy to check that. Call back later if you want". Finally it arrived a whole week later than they said. It was down the street! He could have just driven there after himself but the guy confused him and made him complete the check out process there for some reason. I LOVE these shoes, I needed something that was nice, yet sturdy and ta-da Red Wing! I was researching online so much about boots that would be good for so many different things. My bf has a Harley so he definitely wanted me to get something with a steel toe, but I wanted something that would look a little girlish but not crazy and I didn't want any flashy logos. I was so excited to see there was a Red Wing in OC. I highly recommend this store, the only thing was there was not a big ladies selection which I sort of understand due to mainly catering to guys but I think the store should expand! Also, I have horses and I frequently need boots that will hold up at the barn and still look nice should I need to go somewhere after and these boots are definitely it. The gentleman helping us was very nice, it was packed when we went in and he was the only one there so we just waited out turn, but it really good service. The shoes I got, the size is very true to size, I am regularly a 7.5 and I am glad I didn't get the 8 even with the steel toe, the leather wore in, molded to my feet and stretched a little bit. So after searching for the boots I've worn for 5 years. I found them. Ok somewhat. I have bought the same type of boots from Red Wings 3 times. Then last year in Midland I bought a different type of boot. I was going to resole my old boots. That's 110 dollars to do that. Yes it seems a bit high. But when the top is great and a new pair cost 220 dollars it doesn't sound so bad. This place is a small store. It has what you need. Though sometimes might not have what you want. Like my size. Ok I have a big foot. I'm tall. So they ordered it so I could try it on. I was excited and at the same time not sure if this would be like old boots. But since I was here and had my old boots in the truck. I had them send them back and resole them. When you do that they fix what needs to be fixed. They will treat the leather and fix eyelets and replace your shoe laces also. I came back the next day. Same guy working. I'm going to assume that the same guy works here most of the time. He remembers me. He gets my boots. I'm a little unsure. They feel a bit softer. They feel like if they are broken in. He tells me its the same boot. Just not red anymore. But brown. They treat the leather. It still can be resoled and has the same one year guarantee as the rest. I'm looking at a brand new boot like the ones I like but in brown. I decide to buy them. So here goes another 220 dollars. As he rung me up. A asked if they still oil boots. He said yes. He told me that I can bring them every month and get them oiled. For free. They also give you laces when the originals go bad. So its not a bad trade. This store might not be big but it gives you big customer service. I've been coming here for my husbands work boots the staff is friendly. They are also very patient as work boots have to be comfortable for a man to be in all day! Some boots run bigger than your size depending on the boot some can be smaller than your regular size and they offer additional add ins to the boots like getting that rubber protector thing in the front of the boot. I went to this store after moving to the area 2 years ago and and it deserves a 0 star review. I respect other reviewer's negative comments, and will concede that my experience began and ended as a zero-star set of frustrations. At first, we met unexpected and insulting resistance from their Customer Sales person (Sam) both through the store and over the phone.After doing business with Red Wing Shoes for over 25 years, I know them very well. From the moment I stepped into this store with no customers inside, and waiting for over 10 minutes for Sam to ask if I needed help, I knew this was not the type of service I grew up with. I started by explaining that they no longer make the boot that I wear, that I purchased the last "in store" pair from the Miami, Florida location, and that they do have plenty left in the warehouses in Red Wing, Minnesota. Sam stated that he had never seen my boot and that I should pick something off his shelf. I explained that the boot is the best I've ever worn and that I will continue to wear them until there are none left. So, he did a boot search and said there's none left in stores. I already told him this and had to walk him through the process of getting them from the warehouse. After purchasing 3 of these $366 boots, I was busy with work so I sent my girlfriend down with a defective pair that was under warranty and Sam lied to my girlfriend, telling her that there are none left, not knowing I called the warehouse and was told they have over 30 pairs left the day before. Angry after lying and giving my girlfriend the run around, trying to replace a pair of defective $366 boots, and Sam denying our claim because they were "out of warranty with none left". I ended up kicking my boots across the store, never to return. I went straight down to the Santa Ana store and was greeted at the door by 2 friendly employees. I was in and out of Santa Ana Red Wing Store in less than 10 minutes with the boots I love. Do yourself a favor and don't ever shop at the store in Orange, California. read more

I could have spent slightly less money to get my boots re-soled at a local cobbler, but they restored my beloved 1087's to better than new! I say better because they are way more comfortable than having to break in a new pair of boots. They installed a new welt, sole and laces, then oiled the crap out of them, literally! Disappointed with the customer service here. My husband had heard great things about Red Wing, and was looking forward to getting his feet measured as they normally do at red wing. I'm sure other stores are great, but unfortunately we had terrible customer service at this location. No one greeted us as we walked in, or asked if they could help us find anything. The two men at the desk just looked at us and kept doing what they were doing. When we approached them about trying on shoes and getting my husband's feet measured they just said oh yeah in a minute and kept talking. In the end, the store didn't have his size of shoes he wanted and the men told us to get the shoes at another location. And then proceeded to explain to us to come back that location to get his shoes shined and buy new soles. I love my Red Wing Shoes. Why only 1 star you ask???? Because of their "repair" service. I cannot do without my shoes with their special inserts for work so when it came to get them repair I waited to go on vacation to get it done. I took them to Red Wing and they told me that it would take 2 weeks to repair. I thought it was a very long time for a simple repair but since I was on vacation I said ok with the conditions that if it can not be done by Friday (my last day of vacation) don't do it. After many assurances that it will get done on time I left on vacation. Come Friday and my shoes are NOT done. and because it was the weekend they couldn't get it done until Monday, come Monday they are not done and they couldn't fine them maybe Tuesday. Tuesday came and I was told that the machine was broken maybe Wednesday. I had enough so on Wednesday I went to the shop to get my shoes back but I had to drive to the Santa Ana location where they had them. I come to find out they don't even their own repairs... They farm them out to other people. What really bothers me are all the broken promises and delays specially if they are NOT DOING THEIR OWN REPAIRS. I went into the Orange Red Wing Store on Katella Ave to shop for a new pair of boots. Since I wear a wide width, finding boots that fit can be difficult. Like usual, after realizing they didn't have my choice of boot available, I broadened my options by asking what they had in stock for my size (10 EE). They didn't have any but could order them but would take between 3 and 5 weeks to arrive. I didn't buy from the store but came home, where I went online and was able to order them directly from Red Wing Shoes. 6 days later, my boots arrived. I would prefer to buy from a store but this is ridiculous that this store can't order and get my boots in the same time that I could buying them online from Red Wing. read more
